My Career

My goal is to major in Business Administration, and become a human resource manager.
At first I wanted to become a teacher, but after a while I started thinking "do I really want to be
at a school almost everyday ?" and the answer was no. I was lost for a while and really did not
know what to go for. But then I started thinking and realizing I work with a lot of people
everyday, I'm in management in retail which means I deal with a lot of problems and concerns .
So I started doing some research and finally I found it! Human Resources, why hadn't I thought
of it sooner I asked myself but better late then never right. I think me working with people now is
what encouraged me to continue working with people but in a higher level. I love working with
others, I love making people happy. Happy people make me happy. My DWYA results , match
my career choice. It considers me to being friendly, considerate and concerned with how others
feel, and work devotedly to meet obligations. I don't mean to brag or anything but that is much
like me. I tend to care more about others than myself. I feel like I already knew most of the stuff
about working with Human Resources before I did my research.

To become a Human resource specialist I must need at least my bachelors degree,
although some places might require a master degree. Some places might require up to 5 years in

related management experience. To be able to work in HR I believe one must be caring , patient
and kind to people. One must be good at problem solving. One must be considerate of other
people.

A typical day for a Human Resource Manager will involve different types of task,
meetings and responsibilities. HR managers are involved with the employees ,,the training,
employee benefits and other legal meanings. HR managers begin by checking emails or any
messages left because they are responsible for urgent problems. HR managers go throughout
their day by their scheduled meetings and appointments. Also every HR manager must make
sure that their company is following with local ,state and, federal laws. In order to become a HR
manager one must first become a specialist or and assistant and work their way up . I honestly
think I would really like this career choice.

For this career I plan on first completing my associate degree in Business Administration
and then transfer to The University Of Houston and work towards my bachelors degree. I must
work on my people skills and continue being open minded and gentle with others .
