Message
Malcolm X rightly said, “Educa on is the passport to the future, for tomorrow
belongs to those who prepare for it today”.
In today's context of living, the term we are looking at is 'Adaptability'. Ac on and
adaptability create opportunity. The ability to adjust to the circumstances happily and
peacefully by raising our levels of flexibility, op mism and curiosity are needed to
survive in the present era of uncertainty due to spread of Covid-19.
No one had ever imagined that April, 2020 would witness empty schools and the
school campuses would be converted into quaran ne and food distribu on centres.
Thanks to the technology which made it possible for us to reach out to our students
when they needed school's support, care and counselling the most. Using different
pla orms of communica on, all our schools have tried their best as per their
strengths, limita ons and circumstances to adapt to the new scenario.
I congratulate and extend my best wishes to RPVV Nand Nagri for the release of their
e-Magazine, for conceiving, planning and execu ng various innova ve prac ces and
for their 'beyond the book approach'.
It is me to show how innova ve and resilient a genera on we are. What life throws at
us is not our choice, but what we make out of it is hundred per cent our choice. When
difficult situa ons happen to us, either we become wounded or wise.
“Adaptability is not imita on. It means power of resistance and assimila on.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
This is the choice we need to exercise. It is my wish and prayer that we all come out
wise and wonderful.
I wish the school a great future ahead!\

Covid-19 brought everything to a hurtling halt the world over but the good thing is that
the education continued. Use of ICT made it possible to reach the students when the
handholding from school is most crucial. Using different social media and IT
platforms, our schools tried to reach their students even in trying circumstances and
established healing connect.
RPVV Nand Nagri is doing commendable work and applying various innovative
practices which make learning effective, enjoyable and engaging. This school
conducted online classes for all its existing classes from first April 2020 and along
with this they also organized online Co-Curricular Activities, Fitness Sessions,
Internal Assessment, PTMs, Orientation Programmes for Teachers, Hobby Classes
and Counseling Sessions for students and their parents.
It is very encouraging that more than 90% students of RPVV Nand Nagri attended
these online classes and co-curricular activities which boosted the confidence of the
students at a time when schools are closed all across the country.
I congratulate Mr Rakesh Semalty and his team of dedicated teachers and aware
parents for conceiving, planning and executing various innovative practices which
are very important in the current scenario when the vital question is how to continue
education keeping students' safety and health on priority.
I hope that this maiden issue of 'Endeavour Education Expansion' will further inspire
the school students and teachers and they will come up with more effective ideas and
implement them professionally for imparting humane and holistic education to its
students.
I wish the school a great future ahead and congratulate them for bringing out their first

From School Head's Table
The unprecedented condition prevailing the world over has made all of us to change
the gear and do something effective so that we continue moving forward in spite of
daunting challenges. We were doing excellent things and enjoying providing
wholesome education to our students but got challenged first by local disturbances in
North East Delhi and later by all spreading Covid-19.
Abiding strictly by the guidelines issued by the government, we at RPVV Nand Nagri
started early and conducted online meetings with teachers and parents before starting
online classes for all existing classes i.e. VII, VIII, IX, X and XII.
In order to keep learning lubricated, we conducted online co-curricular activities in
which students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. Keeping Corona pandemic in
view, we started online fitness sessions for all classes which were also attended by the
teachers and parents. The participants were given useful tips about boosting
immunity and staying healthy through Yoga, Exercise, Diet, Nutrition and Emotional
support.
The school also experimented with internal online assessment test which turned to be
effective and successful with the help of parents and teachers. Hobby Classes added
extra flavor to our online learning and we were able to hone different inherent skills of
students.
The parents and SMC members extended their active cooperation to school in its
initiative of keeping education chariot moving effectively in tough conditions.
Through this e- magazine 'Endeavour Education Expansion', I want to assure our
authorities, students and parents that we are determined to provide quality education
to our students whatever may be the circumstances and compulsions. We have
already done enough homework and corona scare will not deviate us from our vision
and mission. We will turn to be fine finisher whatever may be the condition of the
pitch and weather.

its e- magazine 'Endeavour Education Expansion' which is a rainbow image of school's online classes and
other activities during Covid-19 lockdown period. Our school is making all possible efforts to engage
students in their studies and other creative activities through online classes. These online lessons/ sessions
are delivered through live presentations, PPTs, short audio / videos, hand written notes and online links.
The team RPVV, Nand Nagri left no stone unturned in nurturing students' talents and fostering their
creativity to the optimum during this critical time of corona pandemic.
Our school's initiatives in online classes, co-curricular activities, fitness sessions, assessment tests, PTMs,
SMC meetings, teachers' orientation programs, hobby classes, and valediction ceremony- Pratibha Fusion
kept all students, teachers and parents productively engaged and emotionally connected.
I am very thankful to my principal for fine planning and learned colleagues for fine execution. This has
instilled extra zeal and confidence among our students, teachers and parents which will make us sail over
the unprecedented crisis caused by corona.

There is no limit to drawings and designs but when we conceived of designing our first e-

and came across different challenges while using Corel DRAW.
But finally, I along with my team was able to reach the target in the stipulated time line. I
believe that if there is design in mind, everything is possible and hope our readers provide

The Directorate of Educa on under the dynamic leadership of Mr Manish
Sisodia, Deputy CM and Educa on Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi has
been taking exemplary steps for impar ng quality educa on to its students in
Delhi.
During the ongoing lockdown, the educa on department of Delhi government
reached every child and every home and con nued the flame of educa on
burning. This developed a trust connect with parents and society which has
healing impact when covid-19 badly disturbed everything. From pre-school to
class XII, the DoE conceived, developed and delivered lessons to all its students
through various online pla orms.
RPVV Nand Nagri, one of the flagship schools of the government of Delhi thinks
beyond the marks also and provides humane, holis c and integrated educa on
to its students. Every school has its dis nct strengths and weaknesses but all can
perform up to their best poten al if their teams work in a cohesive manner
following fair process of academic planning and administra on. Presently we
have 11 teaching learning innova ons that we conceived and implemented in
our school.
The most important thing is that we have been successful in keeping the school
running during long lockdowns and have covered almost 20% of the syllabus in
Class VII, VIII, IX and XII. All our students are connected to us and taking part in
our online educa onal ini a ves. We wish to get back to formal enjoyable
schooling at the earliest but if compelled to stay away from the campus for
longer period, we have poten al, passion and perseverance to provide effec ve,
produc ve and innova ve educa on to all our 805 Students. We are open to
collaborate with other schools in con nuing comprehensive educa on through
both, online and offline mode. We are aware that all healing occurs outside the
security zones and, therefore, every challenge is an opportunity for us to test our
poten al and establish our iden ty.
We hope that very soon our schools will be buzzing with mul -faceted ac vi es
and like earlier, Delhi government schools will lead the band wagon of country's
educa on. '… if winter comes, can spring be far behind?'
Online Classes:
The school started online academic classes for VII, VIII,
IX, X and XII (2020-21) from 01.04.2020. A formal time
table was devised in which every day there were two
periods and all subjects had 2-3 classes every week. The
time slot was 9:00 – 10:00am (I Period) and 10:30 –
11:30am (II period). During these classes attendance and
performance of the students were maintained closely and
absent students and their parents were contacted
Manisha Maithani,
immediately after the class. They were provided lesson Lecturer Home Science
notes, content and related matter in form of audio/video
files, images, links etc. and other types of support. Support included tips and
training in using apps, data recharges and in a few cases Smart Phones were
provided to genuinly needy students. This made it possible that one of our
students staying at his village in Etah, Uttar Pradesh started attending his
online classes. For a few days these classes were taken on Zoom cloud
meeting but immediately we stopped using it when there were reports of its
safety and security concerns. After this School started taking online classes on
Microsoft's Skype, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. School got all its
students and teachers registered with Google Meet and Microsoft Teams for
running classes smoothly with added service features. To make teachers and
parents aware of the use of online classes, application of apps and using
support material, school organized around over a dozen odd training and
orientation sessions for parents, students and
teachers. Now all students, parents and teachers
are very comfortable in
attending these classes.

Education: A Powerful Weapon“Very good Deepak! You did very

He really practiced hard for this maths test. Now he decided to show
these marks to his father. He looked at his friend Rahul and gave him a
thumbs up. While going home, Deepak said, “Rahul, now I will show my marks to my father.” Rahul said,
“Yes of course! Give it a try. Maybe your father will change his mind.” Deepak reached his home. It was a
small house, not in a very good condition. Deepak went to his mother and said happily, “Mother, look at
my marks. I did very well. Teacher praised me very much.” His mother looked at him and gave him a
faded smile. She said, “Deepak, I know that you love studying but forget about this dream. Your father will Nashra Chauhan

want to be educated. Believe me, I will shine your name one day.” His mother was about to say something
when father appeared at the scene. Father sat on the chair. His wife asked, “What happened? Why have you come so
early today?” He replied, “Today, the factory owner threw me out of the factory for a very little mistake and told me to re-
join only after I pay him a compensation of ten thousand rupees.”
Both Deepak and his mother were shocked. Mother asked, “What will we do now? We don't have that much money.” “I
had plans to introduce Deepak to my factory for a suitable job but I lost mine too. Now I am jobless with debts to pay,”said
the father with a heavy heart and went to the backyard to grieve. The whole incident shocked Deepak to the core. Next
day, he was still thinking about the same when the teacher made an announcement, “Dear students, tomorrow we are
going to have a maths quiz in our school. Prepare for that. The winner will get a prize money of fifteen thousand.” Deepak
couldn't believe his ears. A hope lighted in his heart. He gave his name for the said quiz. Next day, everyone was ready.
The quiz started. Deepak came with so fine preparation that he performed very well and finally,he won.
Everyone clapped for him and praised him. Deepak was now on the seventh heaven. The school principal gave him the
prize money and the trophy, and said, “You are really a brilliant student Deepak. We are proud of you. We will help you as
much as we can in your education.” Deepak ran to his home after the school. He shouted from the door, “Father! Father!
Now, you can give money to the factory owner and re-join.” His mother and father were in a state of shock. His father
asked,“What happened my son? What are you talking about?”
Deepak told everything to his parents. When he was done, he saw tears in their eyes. Deepak was confused. Why were
they crying? Did he do something wrong? Deepak was in the middle of his thoughts when suddenly he felt a jerk. His
father hugged him hard. Now, Deepak understood that the tears were of happiness. His father said, “My son, thank you
very much and I really regret that I was thinking to drop you out from the school to work in my factory. Now I will never do
that again. I will let you continue your education and make us proud. Today, you proved that that without education, there
is nothing. It is the most powerful weapon”. Deepak
hugged his father tightly as tears rolled down his cheeks.
Moral: Education is the most powerful weapon to
resolve all problems.

Mahakaleshwar Temple – Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh (A Travelogue)
By: Vidant Panchal, XA
It is right to say that the world is a book and those who do not travel, read only one page. Keeping these
words in my mind, we set out for a trip in search of my inner self, peace and to be in the lap of God. The
place I chose was Mahakaleshwar temple, Ujjain. I fell in love with the town, the minute I got off there.
The magnificent views of the historic temples and the holy river 'Shipra'. The beauty of the temples
cannot be described in words and one has to travel there to experience it.
It was about 6 months ago when my family decided a trip to Mahakaleshwar temple, Ujjain in the Malwa
region of Madhya Pradesh. We all were very excited and happy for this trip because we were going
together on a trip after a long period of time. We reached there after 7 to 8 hours travelling in train. As soon
I landed in the city I realized that it was the right destination for me to experience the scenery and be as
close to god as I could be.
We all were very thrilled to see the holy places and the Jyotirlingam of lord Shiva. We stayed in the hotel
Hori Palace. The rooms were neat and the food was good. Next day, early morning around 5 am we visited
Mahakaleshwar temple which is an important pilgrimage place for Hindus as it is said to be one of the 12
Jyotirlingams of Lord Shiva. No mobiles, belts and
purses are allowed there. But there are lockers for
keeping valuables items just opposite to the entry but
often queues are long and unending. When we
entered the temple we were able to feel the aura of
positivity, faith and peace. The t e m p l e w a s v e r y
attractive and grand which was full of devotees. Then
we moved to take the darshan o f L o r d S h i v a ' s
jyotirlingam which is very imposing and beautiful. I
forgot all my problems and felt the purity of life. The
jyotirlingam was fully decorated with fruits,
flowers and jewellery etc. Then we took the benediction of Lord Shiva and came to sat on steps. All the
people were praying to the god for their good living and well – being. This all was very exciting and joyful
st
moment for me as I visited there 1 time. Then we came to our hotel and took our breakfast. After taking
our breakfast we went to some other historic and religious places like 'Valmiki's Ashram' where Lord
Krishna took his education . We also went to the holy river 'Shipra' and took a fresh bath together in the
clean and pure water of the river. After this, we took our luggage from the hotel and went to catch our
train. We reached Delhi next day morning at around 7.00 am. After reaching home we distributed the holy
offerings among our neighbours, relatives and friends. I can never forget this trip to this beautiful and
pious place. It was a fantastic and memorable trip and I suggest that you should visit it too.
Don't pluck me with your icy hands;

I want to be as beautiful as bride.
I want to shine like a star with dew drops;
I want to cherish this world with new hopes.

Web links of some of the online lessons that our school
provided to the students during the lockdown period:
During covid-19 lockdown, the school organized all lessons
online and during these, our teachers used different methods to
disseminate, regulate, co-relate and transact the lesson content.
They also used wall tiles as white board and devised their own
innovative techniques for ensuring effective learning. Some of
the links are hereunder which can be accessed by students.

Teachers’ Feedback
It is said that Necessity is the mother of Inventions. The same happened in RPVV NN
as we took initial steps of virtual classes during lockdown period. These classes
diverted student's concentration from the disastrous pandemic “COVID-19”. Virtual

USHA DEVI (Lecturer Commerce)
During lockdown, Our school started online academic and hobby classes as scheduled by DOE and
our HOS. With my limited resources, I tried my best to impart the conceptual ideas to the students
which students grasped with a great pace and enjoyed a lot. Through demonstration I helped
students to understand the concept in a very short time. It was an experience worth-remembering
and it has given me an opportunity to move out of a classroom for imparting education.
SUNITA KUMARI (Lecturer Physics)
Perhaps there was no option except online classes for teaching learning process in lockdown
condition. Thus, our school's Vice Principal Sh. Rakesh Semalty, organized online classes from
st
1 April 2020. All students took keen interest in these virtual classes. Weekly tests and Unit tests
were taken in which both teachers and parents played a vital role. Through Hobby classes
teachers played an important role to find out the hidden gems of our school. “ PTM was also
held to get connected with parents.
RAJAN VERMA (Lecturer Mathematics)
First of all, it is a great honor to be a part of e-learning. I learned
many new things such as use of several multimedia, various
presentation tools, images, YouTube videos embedding and screen
casting. I also learned about importance of students collaboration. The
interactivity was great and sense of community among the
participants grew.
