The U.S. Air Force will be Hi all, Happy September! Hope you all had a great month of August! Fall
celebrating its 70th Birthday Classes started August 23. This month I attended an event at Goodfellow AFB
September 18th. Happy Birthday August 10 in San Angelo, TX. Interviews were held for the 2018 class in Round
Rock, TX August 23-24 and Lubbock, TX August 29-30. I had the honor of
to all Airmen and Women! attending the American Israel Education Foundation (AIEF) trip to Israel with a
group of veterans from the Southwest August 19-27. August 2017, a group of
Accelerated students went on the Jinotega, Nicaragua Global Health Inter-
Professional Trip. Team RWB Lubbock volunteered at the Special Olympics
Texas South Plains Area Swim Competition August 19 and attended the Purple
Heart Recognition Ceremony at Texas Tech University Memorial Circle August
7. In July Dr. Melinda Mitchell Jones spent 2 weeks in China with the University
Immersion Program of Sichuan University in Chengdu, Peoples Republic of
China and taught a course on bioethics in the School of Public Health.

This year for Veterans Day TTUHSC will be displaying photos of faculty, staff,
students, and family members that have served. For more information about how
to submit photos please see page 2.

I will hold Zoom office hours this month: Friday, September 22 from 2-4 pm
(CT). Please RSVP me at [email protected] and I will send a link to

Veterans Day 2017

For this upcoming Veterans Day, we are calling for photos of all TTUHSC
veterans, military, as well as family members who have served. Please see the
attached flyer for details, as well as the Photo Release Consent to accompany all
submissions. Photos will be displayed at the Lubbock Campus the week of
Veterans Day November 11, 2017. If you have any questions at all please refer
them to Sara Henly or Kyle Chapman. All photos, using the parameters on the
flyer as a guide, can be emailed, mailed, or dropped off in person. Please submit
copies of photos you would not need returned. Thank you very much and we look
forward to hearing from many of you.

Zoom

• This month I will hold Zoom office hours Friday, September 22 starting at 2pm and
ending at 4pm (CT).

• Zoom allows us to have face to face interaction for all who decide to attend. Also, it
will help answer questions that you may not have thought of and will allow us all to
explore answers and options together. Zoom is currently what is used within the
TTUHSC SON as the main form of communication. So, this will also give you a head
start and familiarity.

• This month I ask that you RSVP to my email [email protected]. I will then
send you an email with the link to join.

• To access Zoom you can do one of two things. First option is to go through your
application provider and download the free version of Zoom and follow instructions.
Second option is click on link from your computer and follow instructions.
