SEMASHUR NEW HOPES ow, the most anticipated day of the year, welcoming new faces of our youngest batch 2327; on March 28th 2023, SEMASHUR hosted Form One Registration Day. With it comes our greatest hope that this batch shall make the most of their new home, like us, by gaining as much experience, and possibilities as they can. We believe that their enthusiasm and spirit will forever be strong in the next four years, hence continuing, upholding SEMASHUR's goodwill in the future. FORM 1 REGISTRATION DAY N
2 WEEKS OF WONDERS y welcoming the youngest batch in SEMASHUR, the Orientation Week was held by the Guidance and Counselling Unit of SEMASHUR with the help of Form 4 students. This programme served as a platform in unlocking hidden talents in SEMASHUR. Not only that, it was held to help them adapt in their new living environment. From the moment they set foot in SEMASHUR, their patience was tested immensely by homesickness. However with the support of their newfound foster brothers & sisters, things gradually grew better. The Orientation Week drew its curtains to a close with the holding of the closing ceremony, also known as Talent Time. With The Day of The Rising Star as the theme, all the Form Ones gave their utmost best and cooperation in presenting the best performance of their lives. FORM 1 ORIENTATION WEEK B
"Savoring the serenity of iftar, where every bite is a celebration of gratitude and togetherness.” Celebrating the completion of the recitation of the Quran with a feast that fills the heart. After Asar prayer, Khatam al-Quran event was held for all Semashurians, with the Form 5 students leading it. Each batch dressed according to their assigned colours. The Grand Iftar quickly followed right after, with everyone enjoying the delicious cuisine prepared by our very own dining hall. The day ended with all SEMASHUR students performing Taraweeh prayer. It was truly a blessed finale to a day of devotion for every Semashurian indeed.
EID AL-FITR CELEBRATION On 9th May, a special bonding event between students and teachers was held. Students, teachers, and staffs all shared the festive spirit by wearing traditional attire, exchanging greetings, and partaking in special meals or treats. The school hall was occupied by Form 5 students, as a special gesture of gratitude for them since this year would be their last year here. The theme for this year's Sports Day is “Culture” with the objective of showcasing the different types of cultures from different countries all around the world. Congratulations to Al-Biruni Homeroom for being crowned as the Champion of TST 2023 again after their previous title grab in 2020. HOSCAR ‘23 is the annual event every student awaits . From enjoying delicious food sold from each homeroom stalls to even having a water slide, all Semashurians enjoyed themselves to their fullest. Profit was earned by each homeroom using the coupon system. It was a day engraved as a core memory in each of us.
Going beyond textbooks, SEMASHUR students do not only join multiple co-curricular activities, but also give their best performance and become champions of competitions and tournaments . We celebrated these students with our highly anticipated annual event, HACKS, where we presented them with bronze, silver and gold awards. Multiple students were also nominated for 'Hopeful Figure in Co-curriculum' due to their astonishing achievements. ‘ Perkhemahan Perdana ’ CAMPING, BECAUSE THERAPY IS EXPENSIVE One of the most anticipated events of the year, 'Perkhemahan Perdana' is the event where students take a break from textbooks and explore survival skills. From tying knots to practicing basic first aid, students of SEMASHUR do their best in acquiring these basic survival skills. Competitions were held among all uniform bodies unit to give a more exhilarating atmosphere during this event. At night, the students expressed their boundless creativity by performing stories and folklore by using 'wayang kulit'. A relaxing yet wonderful event, the perfect way to end the year.
