Naima’s Tribute Speech
to Her Grandparents

My tribute will be in English as my nanabhai was

always fond of the English language. From 2014 un l
2022, this feels like it has gone by the blink of an eye. How
much I feel empty without the love and prayers of my
grandparents cannot be expressed in words. I don’t reveal
much of my feelings because they are inside me but now
is the me to express them. I s ll remember Nanabhai’s
voice when he asked me “how are you Nanabhai?” and
the beau ful smile on my nanu’s face. These two people
were always wai ng at the gates for our arrival. And now
that I have more opportuni es to spend me with them,
they are not here. The successful woman I have become
today, is all because of their love and prayers. Gaining love
from grandparents is very rare nowadays. However, I am
proud to call them mine because they were so selfless and
kind-hearted. When I see the world is ge ng more selfish,
beau ful people like them are a rare diamond. They were
always generous, merciful and loving, and I can see that
they have passed their great quali es to their children.
Therefore, I would like to take the chance of this founda-

on to use their quali es and help those in need. But I
must say as I am growing older, I am missing their love and
importance day by day.
Being in London and gradua ng in Masters, grandparents
become part of their celebra on, children running to their
grandparents showing their gradua on gown, degree
cer ficate, photos and videos. But unfortunately, they
were not there to become part of my biggest accomplish-
ment. But I am in peace knowing that they are both very
proud of me. My job is in healthcare management, provid-
ing healthcare in England. It is my responsibility to help
pa ents with their health problems. It is sad to see that
despite my power and authority in the medical field, I
have not been able to do anything for most important
people in my life.
Suddenly, they both le this world leaving emp ness in
our hearts. But they should not worry because their
grandchildren will look their loved ones. Above all, I am a
part of Karim and Mahmuda and proud to be in the
Akhanjee Family.
I hope that through this founda on, I can fill the emp -
ness I feel and I can give my nanabhai and nanu the reward
and joy.
