between my feet.
I let my mind sink
into the metal,
some dislocated thing,
screwing together
all the loose mechanics,
I hold up
a lump of a machine,
cooling steel, idle
cylinders and loose pistons.
*
Re-making faces, some collapsing,
some left ajar, cruelly, half there. Smudged like the ink
of a pen that exploded in my pocket, leaving
a fading imprint on the inner thigh. Some not-quite,
half-gone, non-being.
*
The language
slips through
the seasons
all the real talk,
the body talk,
lodged in the part
of the throat
where sound
catches and gathers
rolling out
puttied and twisted
into a rusted autumn.
