The Chronicles of MGPS We are excited to share with you the latest news from MGPS! Our school has been bustling with a variety of engaging and meaningful activities that have kept our students busy and learning. From celebrating the spirit of Ramadan to participating in exciting English, Arabic, Science, Maths, Islamic, Art, Social Studies, Protect Ed, Sports, Music, and digital activities, our students have been exploring new topics and developing a range of skills We also had an amazing Math International Day, a Quran Competition, and a heartwarming celebration of Mother's Day and exhilarating English speech competition by higher primary students. Ramadan is a special time for Muslims around the world. It is a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. It is one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar. This period of selfdiscipline and sacrifice is intended to help develop a greater sense of compassion, empathy, and gratitude, as well as strengthen faith. The MGPS family engage in extra prayers, recite the Quran, and give to charity during Ramadan. There are Ramadan-themed arts and crafts created by students on display such as lanterns, decorations, and cards. Remember, the spirit of Ramadan is about fostering a greater sense of compassion, empathy, and understanding. رمضان مبارك PAGE 01.1 )أياًما معدودات( هي أيام شهر رمضان المبارك الذي هّل علينا بنوره وبركته منذ أيام ؛ ليعطينا الفرصة لتجديد اإليمان ، وتطهير القلب والنفس ، و زيادة التقى ، فمن استغل هذه األيام العظيمة في إصالح نفسه وقلبه وعمله فقد فاز فوًزا عظيًما. ولهذا تحرص مدرسة األجيال العصرية عىل زرع وغرس كل هذه القيم النبيلة عن هذا الشهر الفضيل في نفوس طالبنا ، فإننا حريصون عىل عمل محاضرات توعوية يومية للطالب عن فضل هذا الشهر ، كما نحرص عىل تالوة وختم القرآن الكريم صباح كل يوم وقت الطابور كل عام وأنتم بخير ، أعاد هللا علينا وعليكم هذا الشهر الفضيل بالخير واليمن والبركات .
Ramadan Mubarak Muslims aim to grow spiritually and build stronger relationships with Allah during the Month of Ramadan. They do this by praying and reciting the Quran, making their actions intentional and selfless, and abstaining from all the major and minor sins. The Holy Month has three parts; Rahmah (God's mercy), Maghfirah (God's forgiveness), and Najah (salvation). The first 10 days of the month of Ramadan are dedicated to the mercy from Allah,the next 10 days focus on forgiveness from Allah and the last 10 on freedom from Hell Fire. Muslims believe that Ramadan teaches them to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate, thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat). MGPS Kindergarten department,prepared and practice the actions with the students to emphasis the teachings and lessons from The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). PAGE 01.2

ENGLISH ACTIVITIES The English Activity Week Modern Generation Private School recently hosted its annual English Activity Week, and it was a huge success. Students from all grades participated in a variety of activities designed to promote the use and practice of the English language. The week kicked off with an opening ceremony that included a speech from the CEO of the school and the English HOD, followed by ecstatic performances by students. This was followed by a series of engaging activities such as a spelling bee, debate competition, and a quiz bowl, show and tell, as well as the masquerade carnival, among many more activities. Students were also encouraged to come up with any other creative pieces and present them in front of their classmates. One of the highlights of the week was the English speech competition, where students showcased their speaking skills and made 3-5 minute long speeches in English. This activity not only improved their language skills but also allowed them to express their creativity. The school also created a platform to enlighten students about the importance of the English language and its role in today's global society. This provided students with an opportunity to learn and ask questions related to their language learning journey. Throughout the week, students were encouraged to communicate in English at all times, even during break time and dispersal time. This helped to create an immersive English-speaking environment and allowed students to practice their language skills in a real-life setting. Overall, the English Activity Week at Modern Generation Private School was a resounding success. It not only helped students improve their English language skills but also fostered a love for the language and encouraged them to use it in their daily lives. PAGE 02.1

Blending and segmenting are phonological awareness in which it's the process of understanding that words are made up of sounds in that those sounds work together to create a word thus it is a process of breaking a word down into its individual sounds eg c/a/t,. Here at MGPS Kindergarten the teachers assist the students in practicing this skill through modelling, guidance and physical presentation in which it helps a child in understanding better on how sounds blend to create a spoken word. ARABIC ACTIVITIES PAGE 03 اللغة العربية هويتنا وحياتنا ولغة ديننا وقرآننا ووطننا ، نحرص بكل قوة أن يتذوق الطالب متعتها وحالوتها وأن يشعروا بمتعة التعمق فيها ، كما نحرص أن يعبر الطالب بطريقة صحيحة عما بداخلهم سواء شفهًيا أو ا منا بضرورة ربط الحياة الواقعية ًن كتابًيا ، وإيما للطالب بالمنهج ، فقمنا بربط موضوعات التعبير المدروسة بالموضوع األكثر تشويًقا لهم وهو األسبوع ًرا ، فمن خالل درس الرياضي الذي استمتعوا به كثي التعبير )عناصر النص السردي( ، قام الطالب بالتعبير عن شعورهم وما قاموا به خالل األسبوع الرياضي مع االلتزام بعناصر النص السردي في كتابة الموضوع .
KG ARABIC ACTIVITIES حمزه حمد المعولي الروضة أ علي راشد الغيالني الروضة ب بلعرب فاتك الناعبي الروضة \أ هو مفتاح التعلم والتطور لدى األطفال، فمن خالله يكتشف الطفل بيئة اللعب ويتعرف عىل عناصرها ومثيراتها المتنوعة، ويكتشف ذاته ويعرف مركزه وموقعه ويتعلم أدواره وأدوار الذين يحيطون به . واللعب هو طريقة فعالة في تطوير القدرات ومهارات التفكير المختلفة التي يحتاجها في رحلته عىل طريق النماء والتطور. ومن خالل اللعب يكتسب الطفل كثيرًا من المعلومات التي يصعب اكتسابها من الكتب المدرسية، فاللعب هو مدرسة غير رسمية للعالقات االجتماعية. كما يكتسب اللغة، مفردات ومصطلحات وعبارات وجمل كأداة أساسية وهامة من أدوات التفاعل والتواصل مع العناصر البشرية في البيئة، لذلك فإن اللعب يحتل مكانة هامة في عملية التعليم عند الطفل . ويتيح اللعب الفرصة للطفل لتعلم مجموعة من المهارات الجديدة منها التجربة، واالستكشاف والتقليد. كما أن األلعاب التعليمية ليست أنشطة استجمامية تهدف إىل الترفيه والتسلية فقط، بل هي أنشطة صممت لتحقيق أهداف تعليمية تعلميه لدى األطفال ؛ لذا حرصنا عىل إضافة األلعاب التعليمية في مدرستنا لتعزيز روح الحماس لدى األطفال ؛ وتحقيق التآزر الحركي لتعلم العديد من المهارات المختلفة. إذ ُتسهم إسهاًما مباش ًرا في بناِء شخصيِة الطفل، وبناِء التعلم من خالل اللعب PAGE 03.1

SCIENCE ACTIVITIES The art and of Science of asking questions is the source of all knowledge. Here are grade 4 students investigating to prove that light travels in straight line. A light source was observed through a straight tube and a bent one. End of the activity, it was concluded that light travels in straight line. PAGE 04.2

MATH ACTIVITIES Learning is fun when filled with variety of engaging activities sharing with you a glimpse of 8th March Math day classroom activities for Grade 2 where students engaged in variety of activities including singing about 2D shapes on assembly, measuring capacity in litres and mellites, ordering numbers from largest to smallest, counting and adding on the abacus, sorting odd and even numbers on the Venn diagram. In addition, mathematical knowledge plays a crucial role in understanding the contents of other subjects such as science, social studies, and even music and art. Greater than and less than symbols are used to show the relationship between two numbers. They show us which has a higher value and are used to help children get to grips with numbers and their values. The most common way of explaining how the greater than and less than symbols work is by comparing them to a crocodile's mouth, and that the crocodile always wants to eat the larger number. This simple but colorful explanation appeals to children's imagination and will help them use these symbols correctly. PAGE 05.1

ART ACTIVITIES PAGE 07 مادة الفنون التشكيلية من المواد الممتعة للطالب والتي تنمي مهارات عديدة لدى الطالب ، فهنا يقوم الطالب بعمل تصميمات بالمعادن المختلفة ، كما يقومون بعمل تصاميم عن موضوع الزخارف المتماثلة ، ومن خالل تقسيم الصف لمجموعات قام الطالب بعمل تصميم مجسمات نحتية بالخامات المختلفة ، كما قاموا بتعلم مهارة ممتعة وحرفة أال وهي الرسم عىل الزجاج ، باإلضافة الستكشاف البيئة الطبيعية المحيطة بهم ، ومن خاللها قاموا برسم مشهد من الطبيعة العمانية باأللوان المائية ، وقاموا بتصميم زهور ورقية عمالقة بشكل أكثر من رائع ، ليس هذا فحسب ، بل قاموا أيًضا بتصميم جداريات أشغال معدنية رقائق األلومنيوم .
KG ART ACTIVITIES زين محمد الزبيدي ميثه حمد البطاشي عمر عثمان البادي وحدتي التعليمية وحدة الزمن يمكن اعتبار األعمال الفنية هي فن يتعامل بمهارة اليد، ويستطيع من خاللها الطفل أن ينمي أفكاره وإبداعاته، وتساعد عىل التمييز والتحفيز مما يوفر له المتعة والفائدة. حيث أن مشاركة الطفل في األعمال الفنية لها دور كبير عىل تنمية وتطوير االبتكار واإلبداع وتعد ممارسة الفنون المختلفة غذاء للروح والجسد، ومن هنا تنبع أهمية الفن لألطفال بمساعدتهم في تقوية الثقة بالنفس وتنمية االعتماد عىل النفس لديهم. وتتمثل أهمية الفنون لدى األطفال أيضا في تطوير الذات وتقوية الشخصية. شارك أطفال التمهيدي )ج( في عمل ساعة جميلة تماشًيا مع الوحدة التعليمية ) وحدة الزمن ( فكل طفل قام بصنع الساعة الخاصة به وابدع بأنامله الصغيرة. Social Studies Activities PAGE 08 مادة الدراسات االجتماعية من المواد المهمة لرصد ماضينا والتدبر في حاضرنا والتخطيط لمستقبلنا ، كما أنها مادة تغذي عقولنا بالمعلومات الجغرافية واالجتماعية والثقافية وغيرها من المعلومات ، فيمكننا القول أنها مادة شاملة للعديد من الفروع المختلفة ، لذا نحن نحرص عىل تقديمها ألبنائنا بالشكل المناسب وبأحدث الوسائل التكنولوجية والمعرفية ليتلقى الطالب هذه المعلومات بشكل ممتع .
PROTECT ED ACTIVITIES A stranger asks you if you want a ride. What should you do? Learning to recognize dangerous situations with strangers can be confusing, but you can be prepared. Through different scenarios and tips, Grade 4 students recognized and identified tricks that predators used, and what they should do to keep themselves safe. PAGE 09
P.E ACTIVITIES الرياضة غذاء للجسم والعقل ، حيث تعد الرياضة المدرسية من مجاالت التربية المهمة التي تهدف إىل تحسين السلوك اإلنساني من خالل ممارسة األنشطة الحركية والرياضية ، فيمارس الطالب لعبة كرة السلة ويتعرفون عىل فنياتها وأسسها ونحرص عىل أن يكتسبوا مهاراتها األساسية وتعلم القواعد القانونية للعبة ، حيث أن لعبة كرة السلة تتطلب ممارستها توافر عدة عناصر مثل : السرعة ، التوافق ، الرشاقة ، ودقة التصويب ، كل هذه األمور نحرص عىل تدريب الطالب عليها وإكسابهم مهاراتها ، ليس في كرة السلة فحسب ، بل وبقية األلعاب الفردية والجماعية . MUSIC ACTIVITIES PAGE 11 االحتفال بالمناسبات المختلفة ال يخلو من الموسيقى ، الموسيقى أداة من أدوات التعبير عن الشعور ، الموسيقى ملهمة األحاسيس ، بها نعبر عن الفرح والسرور والحزن والشجن والفخر واالنتماء والمدح والغضب و مختلف المشاعر الوجدانية ، حتى أنه ال يخلو أي عمل درامي ناجح من موسيقى مميزة تنقل المشاعر للمتلقي من الجمهور ، وبما أن اآلالت الموسيقية هي وسيلة عزف ونقل هذه األصوات ، فنحن حريصون عىل تدريب طالبنا عىل العزف باستخدام اآلالت المختلفة ، حيث يتدرب الطالب عىل العزف باستخدام اإلكسليفون المعدني بشكل مكثف آللية استخدامه ، كما تدرب طالبنا عىل كتابة نشيد باللغة اإلنجليزية ألحد األصدقاء ويتدرب الطالب عىل إنشاده، كما يتدرب الطالب عىل العزف باستخدام آلة العود ، وغيرها من اآلالت المختلفة ؛ فيغوص الطالب في أعماق األلحان المختلفة عندما تتسع مداركهم الستخدام المزيد من اآلالت الموسيقية .
ICT ACTIVITIES This week, ICT lessons at school focused on multimedia. Students were encouraged to explore a variety of media options including creating videos, editing photos, and recording podcasts. This is an excellent way for students to learn how to use digital media in an engaging and creative way, as well as develop their multimedia communication skills. It was a great opportunity for students to put their knowledge from ICT lessons into practice by experimenting with different multimedia tools. They had the chance to use state-of-the-art software such as ClipChamp and Audacity for video editing and audio production respectively. PAGE 12
KG Theme Activities Career goals play an important role to attain a job role, especially for the young who are yet to pursue their dreams. Baking can tap into a child’s motivation and promote the development of learning, play, motor skills and social skills. Not to mention, the fantastic opportunities children have when learning skills that are applicable to real life. Students develop confidence and attention to detail over time. By following recipes as a team, children learn the importance of following directions and being aware of those around them. When a child successfully completes a recipe, they will feel a sense of pride, confidence, and a boost to their self-esteem. Learning the basic skill of baking that can be used for the rest of a child’s life is perhaps the most obvious skill gained. By giving our young learners the chance to engage in meaningful work, not simply made up tasks or challenges, we are showing them how capable, strong and productive they can be. MATH INTERNATIONAL DAY INTERNATIONAL MATH DAY Math is the soul of everything that exists in nature, take it from an ant to a mountain or to us, humans. The International Day of Mathematics is a global event that celebrates mathematics! It aims to educate people about the essential role of mathematics in science and technology, improve quality of life and contribute to sustainable development. March 14 was chosen as the date for the International Day of Mathematics based on the fact that some countries write it as 3/14 and the mathematical constant Pi is approximately 3.14. International Math day at MGPS started enthusiastically, full of spirit and excitement with a special assembly. This assembly was fun and involved a discussion about how Math is present in everyday life. We had hands-on activities, Math in Day-to-day life, Math in nature, Skits, and presentations. KG MATH INTERNATIONAL DAY The International Day of Mathematics is a global event that celebrates mathematics on the 14th March each year. It aims to educate people about the essential role of mathematics in science and technology, improve quality of life, empower the young learners and contribute to sustainable development. Each year the worldwide event focuses on a particular theme. The aim of the themes is to connect mathematics to all sorts of subject’s fields and ideas. This year's theme was Mathematics for everyone. Our MGPS Kindergarten students were happy to add this theme, they were completely invested in it and buzzing about it all day. The students gained a love of learning, resilience in problem solving, teamwork and an opportunity to ask questions. Mother's Day Mother's Day is a celebration honoring all the mother as well as motherhood and the influence of mothers in the society. This day that recognizes the essence of a mother was celebrated in high spirits and merriment at MGPS. It being one of those occasions that none of us can afford to miss was zealously enjoyed by one and all. The children irrespective of nationalities, cultures and genders have emotions binding them to their mothers. Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, MGPS had a special celebration on Mother’s Day. Teachers made an earnest effort to instill the importance of mother in a child’s life through effective and engaging class activities, speeches and songs. “A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.” The students had something more special and unique to bring a smile on their beloved mother’s face. They passionately got involved in making beautiful greeting cards with personalized messages for their mothers. It was a pleasure watching the dynamic and energetic children preparing something unique, something special. The outcome of their efforts was marvelous. Each card was special and different in its own way. All in all, it was an enjoyable and memorable day for each and every child which left an indubitable mark on the innocent hearts. PAGE 16.1

It is celebrated in Oman on 21st of March. Mother is the first person that a child seeks for on returning home. She takes care of her children from their birth until her last breath. We cannot even count their innumerable contributions to our lives or all that they do from morning to night. Mothers continue to perform all their duties and responsibilities, throughout the day, even if they are tired. They never expect anything in return for all the love they shower upon us and the way they pamper us. In Kindergarten MGPS, Tiny tots celebrated Mother’s Day be wishing them and by making beautiful card to express their love towards them and thanked Allah for blessing them a loving and caring Mom. English Speech Competition Speech programs in schools are an excellent way for learner’s to develop their communication skills and gain confidence in their abilities. These programs provide learners with an opportunity to express themselves, develop critical thinking abilities, and engage in healthy competitions. At Modern Generation Private School we involve learners in preparing and delivering speeches on a variety of topics. These topics can range from current events and social issues to personal experiences and technology. The students are required to research the topic, organize their thoughts, and present their ideas in a structured and engaging manner. Participating in a speech program improves learners’ public speaking skills, which can be useful in their personal and professional lives. It can also help them develop critical thinking abilities, as they learn to analyze information, organize their thoughts, and present them effectively. It is a great opportunity for learners to step out of their comfort zones, challenge themselves, and develop new skills. Speech programs promote creativity, teamwork, and healthy competition among learners. To ensure the success of speech programs, Modern Generation Private School provides adequate resources and support to learners, including but not limited to access to training and coaching, practice sessions, and feedback from teachers. CAMBRIDGE UPDATES- MARCH HIGHLIGHTS 2023 1. Cambridge Face- to – Face Professional Development 2 day sessions The Cambridge Face- to – Face Professional Development, Oman _ March, 2023; was attended by 14 of our senior leadership team members and educators to exchange ideas and learn new strategies for enhancing their teaching practice. The academic team attended subject specific professional development sessions of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The session on – ‘Understanding Impact’ was attended by our senior leadership team and senior educators. Hosted by the prestigious University of Cambridge, the workshop featured a range of presentations and interactive sessions led by renowned experts in the field of education. PAGE 18
CAMBRIDGE UPDATES- MARCH HIGHLIGHTS 2023 From the latest research on cognitive development to innovative approaches to classroom management, attendees were exposed to a wealth of cutting-edge insights and practical techniques. They also had the opportunity to network and share ideas with one another, and many commented on the value of being able to connect with like-minded educators from around the world. Overall, the teachers' workshop of Cambridge was a stimulating and thought-provoking event that left attendees feeling inspired and energized about the important work of teaching. 2. Grade 10 Monthly Test 3 results of IGCSE subjects- positive & reflective Students successfully attempted the English, Math Physics, Chemistry & Biology March Monthly Test as per IGCSE template. Performance was introspective, indicating areas of improvement and attention to detail while answering IGCSE question pattern. 3. Cambridge IGCSE Exam Timetable received Grade 10 students received the Final Cambridge exam timetable and were briefed of the exam schedules and requirements. Our students participated in the finals of the 2023 Oman SeaPerch Challenge - Submarine Robot Competition, held on March 20th under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. The competition was hosted by the National Centre for Scientific Skills Development at the Sultan Qaboos University Complex. Our Fantastic Five students performed exceptionally well and won first place in the "Best Technical Report" category. PAGE 19

With ICT (information and communication technologies) access to knowledge and learning resources is more easily available, providing students with a more comprehensive education. This trend is expected to continue with advancements in ICT improving teacher-student interactions through video conferencing, virtual classrooms, and student e-portfolios. Furthermore, the use of data analytics can provide teachers with rich insight into student behaviors and help them individualize material, tracking achievements across yearly cohorts. As these measures are adopted by institutes worldwide the future of ICT use for educators and students looks highly promising. The advent of artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies is revolutionizing how the modern world operates. These new technologies are also making a huge impact on how schools are being run, especially in terms of teaching, learning and everyday life at school. We at MGPS are way ahead to introduce Artificial intelligence and virtual reality to our students. With artificial intelligence and virtual reality, students can now experience learning in a whole new way - one that is more flexible, immersive and empowering. In the future, AI-enabled desks will help monitor students’ attention levels to ensure they’re focusing on their studies while online classrooms with virtual reality can help bring distant cultures and sites closer than ever before so that students can learn through these experiences. AI at school is helping students and teachers alike to cope with the everincreasing pressure of balancing curricular activities with extra-curricular ones.
