WATER SUPPLY BACKGROUND SAJ Holdings Sdn. Bhd., an integrated water supply company, engages in water treatment and distribution of treated water to consumers. The company was founded in 1994 and is based in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. In the environment business, Ranhill has been granted an exclusive license by the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Malaysia to provide source-to-tap water supply services to end-customers in the entire State of Johor, the second most populous state in Malaysia, with a population of approximately 3.5 million people. WATER SUPPLY The Sultan Iskandar Reservoir is an artificial lake in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. The reservoir is about 5 km long and 2.5 km broad and strongly branches out. It is fed by several small rivers, which flow in long branches, and drained over the Layang River in the Johor River. RAW WATER TREATMENT There are three treatments ongoing that are primary treatment, secondary treatment & tertiary treatment. For the primary treatment, there are collecting & screening including pumping from rivers & initial storage. For the secondary treatment, there is the removal of fine solids & the majority of contaminants using filters, coagulation, flocculation & membranes. For the tertiary treatment, pH adjustment, carbon treatment to remove taste & smell, disinfection & temporary storage to allow the disinfecting agent to work. After this water treatment, it will goes to the service reservoir. 22 DAM TREATMENT PLANT
WATER SUPPLY 23 Service reservoir beside Jalan Persiaran Scientex is the water supply for the nearest area in the area. This water tower is the water supply to Jalan Bayan. From Sultan Iskandar Water Treatment Plant Water Filters remove unwanted impurities from water such as sediment, taste & odour, hardness & bacteria. The one side control is the water company's valve The other side control is flows to the house. Water Meter

WATER ROUTE Kitchen sink using direct water supply system which receives water directly from the main pipes. 28 The water meter receive the water from the supply main. After that, the water filter will receive water from the water meter to give clean & safe-to-consume water into our house.
WATER ROUTE 29 The water storage tank receives water after the water filter. Storage tank is kept at height so that water come down into fixtures through gravity at sufficient pressure. Estimate water tank size for the building: 250 Gallons

CONCLUSION 37 LEARNING OUTCOME We have learned about the piping system of the household. We also learned about the distribution flow of water through out the housing area &the facilities of the household. We have learned about how the gravity & pump system works. COMMENTS A strategic & organized housing area arrangement can help the organized flow of water distribution. Water housing uses a gravity system which is the best system. IMPROVEMENTS Improve efficient pipe systems & pipe restraints are designed to give you control over how your pipes move.
