Big plans for the care we provide
Rosedale Centre
The Rosedale Centre was built in 1982 and is owned by Stockton-on-
Tees Borough Council..
It was purpose built as a care home but since February 2012
the service provision has changed to a short term residential
rehabilitation and assessment centre.
The Rosedale Centre is situated in a peaceful residential part
of Bishopsgarth in Stockton-on-Tees, within easy reach of local
amenities and with good transport links to Stockton and Billingham
town centres.
We offer excellent care with a team of highly trained staff,
dedicated to meeting your specific needs. We aim to create a warm,
friendly atmosphere that supports your needs and encourages
independence. We ensure your health and dignity is respected,
which provides peace of mind for relatives.
Willows Unit
The Willows Unit provides 12 assessment beds to accommodate
people who are occupying an acute hospital bed, but are
medically fit. On the assessment unit, you are encouraged to be
as independent as possible with staff continuously assessing your
needs and abilities over a two week period. Support workers work
alongside the therapy team in providing this service.
After a 2 week assessment period, to ensure you meet the National
Eligibility Criteria threshold, a summary of needs is completed by
support workers, a review is then arranged, which is attended by
your allocated social worker, support worker, therapy team and
family members. However if you are returning home, therapy staff
may not attend.
At this review meeting a discharge plan decision is made as to
whether you have the ability to return home independently, with a
care package or if you will require longer term care. If the discharge
plan is for residential care you and your family members have two
weeks to find a care home of your choice.
Accommodation
All bedrooms in the Willows Unit are individual, each with washing
facilities, a TV and an emergency call system, so you can feel safe at
all times. There is a large lounge/dining room, kitchen and visitors
lounge.
Visitors
Due to priority given to your therapy programme, restrictions have to
be put in place regarding visiting times.
Visiting times are as follows:
Monday - Friday 1 - 2pm and 5 - 8pm
Saturday - Sunday 10am - 8pm (avoiding meal times if possible)
If visiting in the evening, we request that noise levels are kept to a
minimum, as some clients do like to retire to bed early.
We do like visitors to refrain from using the main communal lounge.
They may use your bedroom, visitors lounge or garden area.
