(ANI) Gita Press to accept Gandhi Peace Prize, but turn down Rs 1 crore cash award Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 19 (ANI): Gita Press said on Monday that it would accept the Gandhi Peace Prize as it was a matter of great honour but would refuse the Rs 1 crore cash award. Lalmani Tiwari, the manager of Gita Press, while speaking to ANI the said that it will, however, accept the prize as it is a matter of honour. “Gita Press has been conferred with Gandhi Peace Prize 2021. This is a very proud moment for us. We thank the govt of India and PM Modi for this award. We have denied accepting any kind of donations as it is our principle. However, we will certainly accept the award for its honour,” he said. Established in 1923, Gita Press is one of the world’s largest publishers, having published 41.7 crore books in 14 languages, including 16.21 crore Shrimad Bhagvad Gita. A political row erupted after the Central government announced that Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021 will be conferred on Gita Press of Gorakhpur, in recognition of its “outstanding contribution towards social, economic and political transformation through non-violent and other Gandhian methods. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh termed the decision a “travesty” and is like “awarding Savarkar and Godse”. “The Gandhi Peace Prize for 2021 has been conferred on the Gita Press at Gorakhpur which is celebrating its centenary this year. There is a very fine biography from 2015 of this organisation by Akshaya Mukul in which he unearths the stormy relations it had with the Mahatma and the running battles it carried on with him on his political, religious & social agenda. The decision is really a travesty and is like awarding Savarkar and Godse,” he said in a tweet. The statement issued by the Ministry of Culture said that the jury headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi unanimously decided to select Geeta Press, Gorakhpur for the Gandhi Peace Prize. Gandhi Peace Prize 2021, recognizes the important and unparalleled contribution of Gita Press, in contributing to the collective upliftment of humanity, which personifies Gandhian living in the true sense. The most complex crisis in the last 70 years is just at hand now. And the G20 is trying to address this most complex crisis. It is a very difficult issue, particularly that now we are talking about not only financially saving the world, but we are talking about climate, water, social stability, disaster risk reduction, and social security. So it is the biggest task you can have. But I see that the G20 presidency, India is sailing well,” Korosi said in an exclusive interview with ANI. “And I remember my meeting with the Indian G-20 sherpa (Amitabh Kant) and it was one of the most inspiring discussions I had in the last couple of months,” he added. Talking about the resolution which was adopted by the UNGA to establish a new ‘Memorial Wall’ for fallen Peacekeepers that India piloted, Korosi said that it was long overdue. “There are many, many servicemen and women who brought their ultimate sacrifice for world security and peace. Many of them were Indians. And I was very happy when I saw that India championing this resolution in the General Assembly could garner 190 countries co-sponsoring the resolution. It means it is a cause that is equally important for all of us. And I’m very, very happy that this role in the memory of the fallen servicemen and women will be created right now,” he stated. Calling out India as a potential superpower country, the UNGA Chief said that in terms of population, economy, science and technology India is rapidly rising. He also recalled his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “I met Prime Minister Modi a couple of months ago in New Delhi, and I had a deep impression after our meeting. A person with vision, a person with strategic thinking, a person who has a very deep tradition bringing with himself a very deep tradition of a nation and a clear vision of where modern India should look like. In an exclusive interview with ANI on Monday (local time), Korosi on India‘s candidacy for UNSC said, “There is a notion among the member states that we need a better representative in Security Council, including those countries who have a larger responsibility for peace, larger responsibility for making well being for the people, and, of course, India among those who believe they can contribute to the well being of the world.” Korosi stated that in the past when the UNSC was made at that time India was not among the “biggest ones.” He further added that UNSC will reform. “The case of the reform has been going on in the negotiating process for 13 years, way too long. The first discussion that started on the potential necessity of reforming the Security Council started more than 40 years ago. So it’s really high time, but it’s in the hands of the member states. If the member states can agree on how to reform the Security Council, in terms of its working methods, in terms of membership, in terms of permanent members, in terms of the right to veto, in terms of what should be the better relationship between the Security Council and maybe other bodies of the United Nations, so, it’s all in the hands of the member states,” the UNGA President said in an interview with ANI. “India is one of the perhaps most active advocates for the early reform of the Security Council,” he added. People affected by heat waves should be treated immediately in hospitals/ medical colleges,” CM said. He instructed officials to build ‘pyaus’ (places where one gets drinking water) at public places in all municipal bodies/rural areas. “Arrangements for drinking water should be made at various places in the market/on the main roads. By Elisha Pulivarti Christianity in India, though not as widely practiced as Hinduism or Islam, has a rich and intriguing history that dates back almost 2,000 years. Its origins, influence, and contributions to Indian society are profound, albeit lesser known. Here are nine things you should know about Christianity in India made significant contributions to education, social reform, and the development of regional languages. 1. Disciple of Jesus Apostle Thomas introduced and spread the faith in India. C h r i s t i a n i t y ’s arrival in India is traditionally attributed to the Apostle Thomas, one of the 12 Disciples of Jesus Christ. Thomas traveled to the Malabar Coast, a region on the Southwest side of the subcontinent. In this area, he’s said to have established seven churches, laying the groundwork for a community known as the Thomas Christians or Syrian Christians. 2. Christian Missionary Efforts have been Influential for over 400 years. The history of Christianity in India is deeply intertwined with the saga of Christian Missions and marked a pivotal phase in Indian Christianity’s history. Roman Catholic missionaries from Portugal arrived in the 16th century, establishing Jesuit Missions and introducing the Roman Catholic faith to new regions. The British, Dutch, and Danish, sent protestant missionaries who established churches and expanded the influence of the faith. Most prominent prominent was William Carey, a British Baptist Missionary who arrived in Serampore, Bengal, in 1793. Carey, along with his colleagues Joshua Marshman and William Ward, made significant contributions to education, social reform, and the development of regional languages. 3. William Carey: The Father of Modern Mission’s Transformed Indian Languages. C h r i s t i a n missionaries not only spread their faith but also transformed Indian vernacular languages. Their efforts to translate the Bible into various Indian languages led to the standardization of grammar and vocabulary, effectively helping the mold these languages. In 1801,Carey was entrusted with the task of teaching Bengali, Sanskrit, and Marathi at Fort William College. His linguistic proficiency led him to translate the Bible into multiple languages, including Bengali, Oriya, Marathi, Hindi, Assamese, and Sanskrit. He edited a Bhotia Grammar Book and developed grammar for six other languages. Carey and Marshman also created dictonaries for Bengali, Sanskrit, and Marathi and undertook the task of translating three volumes of the Epic Sanskrit Poem Ramayana. 4. Christian Missionaries Made Significant Contributions to Indian Education. M i s s i o n a r i e s founded some of the earliest modern educational institutions in India, including schools, colleges, and universities. These institutions offered a previously unavailable Western-style education. Institutions like St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai, Loyola College in Chennai, and St. Stephen’s College in Delhi were established by Christian missionaries and continue to be recognized for academic excellence. At a time when education for women wasn’t given importance, Christian missionaries played a crucial role in promoting women’s education in India. They established numerous schools for girls, advocating for gender equality and challenging societal norms 5. Missionaries sparked social reform throughout society. M i s s i o n a r i e s established schools in remote areas and provided education for marginalized communities, including lower-caste groups and tribals, who were often denied education in mainstream society. This was a significant step toward inclusivity and social reform. The missionaries actively campaigned against social malpractices such as the caste system, untouchability, child marriage, and Sati, a ritual where a widow would self-immolate on her husband’s funeral pyre. M i s s i o n a r i e s provided support for widows and outcast women, who were often marginalized in society. They set up shelters and homes, providing these women with a safe refuge and the means to earn a living. Christians advocated for the rights of women and encouraged them to take active roles in the church, including as educators, health workers, and evangelists. This was an important step toward empowering women and promoting their active participation in public life. 6. Christianity has influenced Indian art, literature, and architecture. Christianity in India has adapted to local cultures and traditions, resulting in a unique blend of Indian and Christian practices. This integration is evident in the architecture of churches, liturgical music, and local customs. For instance, in Kerala, the tradition of “Puthen Pana” involves singing a narrative poem about the life of Jesus during the Holy Week. Indian authors have written novels and short stories that explore Christian themes and the experiences of Christian characters. A prominent example is The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, which delves into the lives of a Christian family in Kerala, exploring themes of caste, love, and social transformation. India has numerous Christian landmarks, such as the Basilica of Bom Jesus in Goa, which holds the remains of Francis Xavier. The St. Thomas Mount in Chennai, believed to be the place where the apostle Thomas was martyred, is another significant religious site. 7. Christianity in India is regionally and denominationally diverse. A l t h o u g h Christianity is spread across the country, South India is home to about half of the Christians in the country, with a particularly vibrant Christian community in the southern states. In the more sparsely populated Northeast, Christians make up a relatively large share of the population, with the vast majority belonging to tribal communities. Christian populations can also be found in other parts of India, such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Goa. However, the concentration of Christians varies from one region to another, depending on factors such as the prevailing rite and tradition and the length of time Christianity has existed in those regions. The ancient Thomas Christians of Kerala, for example, have a distinctive culture compared to Christians in other parts of the country. While many Indian Christians identify as Catholic (37 percent), a variety of other denominations are present in India. For example, 13 percent of Indian Christians are Baptists, 7 percent identify with the Church of North India, and another 7 percent identify with the Church of South India. 8. A substantial portion of Indian Christians engage in syncretism. R e l i g i o u s syncretism, the merging of different and often incompatible faith traditions, is an all-too-common practice in India (just as it is in the U.S.). A significant portion of Indian Christians incorporates beliefs and practices from other religions, with a majority (54 percent) believing in the concept of karma. Many Indian Christians believe in reincarnation (29 percent) and ascribe purifying powers to the Ganges River (32 percent), both of which are fundamental beliefs in Hinduism. It’s not uncommon for Indian Christians to participate in customs associated with other religions, such as celebrating the festival of Diwali (31 percent) or adorning a bindi on the forehead (22 percent), a practice typically observed by Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain women. 9. Persecution remains a persistent threat. R e l i g i o u s persecution of Christians in India has been on the rise in recent years, with Hindu extremist groups, local governments, and nationalist Hindus seeking to “purify” India by making it entirely Hindu. These persecutors view Christian converts as traitors to the Hindu homeland and aim to eliminate them to appease Hindu deities. Christians in India face various forms of persecution, including attacks on churches, arrests, and detention on false charges of forced conversions. For example, Hindu-nationalist informants in many villages report on the activities of Christians, leading to attacks and arrests. In some cases, Christians have been forced out of their villages, and hundreds have been jailed for practicing their faith. Anti-conversion laws in several Indian states have further fueled the persecution and are often a pretext for attacks on Christians, who are accused of trying to convert Hindus to Christianity. Despite constitutional protections for freedom of religion, the act of worship has become dangerous for many Christians in India who remain resilient and faithful despite persecution. The bill was presented in the assembly by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The bill has been opposed by SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami and Shiromani Akali Dal leaders who said that the state government did not have the authority to bring such a bill. Earlier Congress MLAs staged a walkout from the assembly over their demands. Party leaders have also said that the state government cannot bring a bill to amend the Sikh Gurudwaras Act. The bill was approved by Punjab Cabinet on Monday. Mann said after the meeting that Cabinet has approved the proposal to amend The Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925 and to insert Section 125 A in the Act thereby casting duty on the SGPC to ensure free-toair live telecast of the Holy Gurbani from Sri Harmandir Sahib. He said that the Sikh Gurdwaras (Amendment) Bill, 2023 will pave the way “for eliminating the undue control of ‘Modern Day Masands’ over the free-toair telecast of the sacred Gurbani”. Mann said that this amendment has been made with the objective that the entire humanity is able to listen to and see the live telecast of Holy Gurbani free of cost. According to a Punjab government release issued on Monday, Bhagwant Mann said that this move is aimed at ensuring that Holy Gurbani is not commercialized in any manner. The Chief Minister said that this Act will be called the Sikh Gurdwaras (Amendment) Act, 2023 and will come into force on and with effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. He said that in the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925, after section 125, section 125-A will be inserted for the live telecast of Gurbani free of cost. Bhagwant Mann said that the Act stipulates that it will be the duty of the Board to propagate the teachings of the Gurus by making uninterrupted (without any on-screen running advertisements/ commercials/distortion) live feed (Audio or Audio as well as Video) of Holy Gurbani from Sri Harmandir Sahib available free of cost to all media houses, outlets, platforms, channels, whoever wishes to broadcast it. The Chief Minister further said that as a humble and devotee Sikh, he is a votary of free-to-air telecast of the Gurbani across the globe. Bhagwant Mann wondered how this was an attack on Panth “as he was just opposing the control of a particular channel over the telecast of Gurbani, which is totally unwarranted and unjustified”. He said that this move is not aimed at giving rights to any particular channel of government or of any single individual but it is aimed at spreading the message of Gurbani across the globe. The Chief Minister asserted that the state government is fully competent to amend this act as the Apex court had already through a judgment ruled that this act is not an inter-state Act. He said that “a single family had dominated the affairs of the SGPC since long due to which an irreparable damage had been made to the Sikh Panth”. The Chief Minister said that as people wish to listen to Gurbani from Sri Harmandir Sahib so they had to subscribe to this channel. According to the release, Bhagwant Mann said that the Act “is not an attack on panth but it is just a humble effort to ensure free to air telecast of sacred Gurbani across the globe”. (ANI)

United Nations World Trade Organisation S e c r e t a r y - G e n e r a l , some other important organisations, delegates from different countries, and experts are part of it. You take any tourist destination in India including different areas, nearby 6-7 km, you can identify a lot of plastic because tourists throw away plastic bottles and food items. Not only for India, but plastic is also a very big issue for any tourist destination across the world. We want to aware people of the country on how to use plastic. Today, we had a discussion with officers of G20 countries and stakeholders in the meeting over this.” He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ganga cruise which was a success. “In another event, we discussed cruise tourism. Recently honourable Prime Minister in India inaugurated the Ganga cruise. A cruise started for about 50 days. It was a success. In India, we have a sea coast of more than 750 km. We need to explore. People from different countries want to visit India and people from India also want to visit other countries. But today, in India, people think cruise tourism is for rich people, but I would want to say that middle-class families can also go for cruise tourism. We are trying to promote cruise tourism in the coming days. This year as well a conference will be held. From many different countries people from cruise tourism will come to the Global Investment Summit which will be organised by the Ministry of Tourism to invest,” Reddy added. He said that the Ministerial meeting of the G-20 will start on Tuesday in which discussions will be held on different issues. “The Ministerial meeting of G-20 will start tomorrow in which discussions will be held on different issues because you know tourism and hospitality is one of the sectors that have been highly affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. We are moving ahead with great hope. Tourism will be an important sector in India. India is going to be the world’s number 1 destination. Different countries have different issues. India has spiritual tourism, UN related UNESCO heritage sites. These 250 G20 meetings that are being held in India, will give a chance to improve tourism in India,” said Reddy. Speaking about bilateral dialogue with G20 countries, Reddy said, “I am going to hold discussions with every single country delegate about how to bring their good practices in India and how to give India’s any technology to them. In the coming days, the National tourism police will come and different websites will be opened. Tourism officers will also be appointed in different important embassies. I have full faith that there is a full chance for the tourism sector to move ahead. Different bilateral discussions will be held with all 29 countries on how to move ahead with mutual cooperation, and what MoU can be there. Today also we have signed 2-3 MoUs and in the coming days more MoUs can be signed.” Speaking about International Yoga Day, he said that on the day of International Yoga Day, a Yoga session will be organised in Raj Bhawan on June 21 in the morning. When asked if tourism will play a major role in boosting the economy of India, Reddy said, “Tourism will definitely play a major role in boosting the economy of the country. By 2025, we will be in a better situation and by 2047, India will become the world’s number 1 destination in the tourism sector.” (ANI)

Two Christian teenagers, identified as Adil Baber and Simon Masih, were recently accused of blasphemy in Lahore, Pakistan. The allegations against them were levelled by the police constable Zahid Sohail, soon after he had indulged in an altercation with the young accusers on May 28. According to the registered First Information Report (FIR) No 902/23, Sohail alleged that the boys uttered blasphemous remarks against the Holy Name of the Prophet Muhammad while he was walking to a mosque to pray. Adil Baber is 18 years old while Simon Masih is 14. The accused’s families denied the allegations, claiming it was the result of a personal dispute between the two boys and Sohail, as they had a previous altercation. Moreover, the families argued that during the initial confrontation, witnesses present at the scene demanded evidence to substantiate the claims but none was reportedly provided at the time of the arrest. The family, while demanding a free trial, urged the authorities to address their concerns about the fairness and objectivity of the investigation process, with questions surrounding the potential bias given that the accuser is also a police officer. Human Rights activist Joseph Jansen and chairperson of Voice for Justice, condemned the incident, adding that the increase in the misuse of the blasphemy laws and its use as a retaliation act to settle personal disputes must be stopped, as numerous people languish in prisons for years until the courts finally realize the miscarriage of justice and set them free, Eurasia Review reported. Further, according to the report, a fair trial is the right of every citizen guaranteed in the constitution of Pakistan and the protection of accusers until proven guilty is the responsibility of the state. Jansen further asked for a proactive response from the authorities to safeguard the young boys and their families during and after the legal proceedings, as such fabricated accusations often lead to the climate of mob violence and vigilante justice targeting religious minorities. (ANI) “UK-India partnership a defining one for our times”: British PM Rishi Sunak London [UK], June 21 (ANI): British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hailed the UK-India partnership on Wednesday, calling it “a defining one for our times”, informed an official release. His remarks have come ahead of India Global Forum’s flagship UK-India Week 2023. Praising the role of IGF in fostering closer ties between India and the United Kingdom, Sunak said the event is a catalyst for forging new trade ties. “India Global Forum’s annual UK-India Week is a highly anticipated fixture in the bilateral calendar of our two great nations. It is a catalyst for forging new trade ties, lasting collaborations, and a better future for our people. I am confident this partnership will be a defining one for our times,” the British PM said. Responding to Sunak’s remarks, Manoj Ladwa, founder and chairman of India Global Forum, said that given the geopolitical upheaval and economic turbulence, it is more important than ever for India and UK to forge closer ties. “Given the geopolitical upheaval and economic turbulence around the world, I believe that it is more important now than ever before that the UK and India forge closer and deeper ties. I am therefore grateful to Prime Minister Sunak for recognising the role that IGF is playing in bringing our two great democracies closer to unlocking the true potential of the partnership,” he said. Last year, as Chancellor, while speaking at IGF’s UKIndia Awards, Sunak had emphasised the importance of forging a partnership of equals. “India isn’t looking to the past. And nor can we. We need to move forward. Because the UK does not have a natural right to sit at the table with one of the world’s largest, fastestgrowing, and most dynamic economies. We must earn it,” he said. In the backdrop to the 2030 Roadmap agreed upon by both governments and the ongoing Free Trade Agreement negotiations, Prime Minister Sunak’s comments are a key indicator of his ambition to transform and elevate UKIndia ties, the release stated. On the sidelines of the recent G-7 Summit in Hiroshima, Sunak and Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership while taking stock of the progress in the FTA negotiations. The British government has estimated that a trade deal could increase UK’s GDP by approximately 3.3- 6.2 billion euros and India’s by around 3.7-8.6 billion euros by 2035. Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party who will be opening UK India Week this year, said ahead of his participation, the time has now come to look to the future and work on all areas where there is scope for mutual benefit. “I am looking forward to speaking at India Global Forum. The Labour Party has a long and strong relationship with India which I am very proud of. The time has now come to look to the future and work on how we can deepen and widen our cooperation in critical areas such as trade and investment, technology and innovation, climate action, diversity and inclusion, and healthcare, the future of work, skills and education — all areas where I see huge scope for mutual benefit.” Union Minister for Power, New & Renewable Energy, RK Singh, and UK Secretary of State for Education Gillian Keegan will be among the several senior political and business figures from the UK and India participating at India Global Forum. “India Global Forum’s UK-India Week is a six-day series of events that brings together business leaders, policymakers, and thought leaders from India, UK and across the world to discuss and explore opportunities for further collaboration and growth. The event features a series of discussions, keynote speeches, and exclusive networking opportunities from the 24 to 30 June 2023 in London and Windsor. Over 2000 in-person participants will attend IGF UK- India Week 2023 over 12 marque events in iconic locations,” the release stated. (ANI)

Only summits succeed or fail. Antony Blinken is only US Secretary of State. Nothing much was expected out of his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. That the meeting came about at all is news. Such is the antagonism between the two countries that till the last minute neither side confirmed the meeting would happen. The US State Department made it official with just an hour to go. The meeting itself lasted 35 minutes, enough time for the shutterbugs to record the handshake and both leaders to articulate diplomatic inanities. Xi was heard saying, “The two sides have agreed to follow through on the common understandings President Biden and I have reached in Bali.” If Antony Blinken said anything, it was not available in the Chinese recording. But he was seen saying something to the Chinese President. Diplomatic logic says there cannot be a higher-level meeting after this. Only the Summit remains. Is this a step-by-step close-in to a possible meeting between Xi and US President Joe Biden? Speculative. The fact is, the meeting will at best ensure that either side commits no irreversible mistake for some time in the future and keeps channels of communication open despite open hostility. O f f i c i a l l y , they claim to be in the process of reducing the risk of misperception and miscalculation, but there is no indication that things are starting to turn around. Blinken met other Chinese leaders as well in Beijing, but no side showed any inclination to loosen their hardened positions on disagreements over a range of issues. The issues are many. To recall the major ones, the issues include the tariff and trade war, Taiwan, human rights conditions in China and Hong Kong, Chinese military assertiveness in the South China Sea, and Russia’s war in Ukraine. In the opening round of talks, Blinken met for nearly six hours with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang after which both countries said they had agreed to continue highlevel discussions. However, there was no sign that any of the most fractious issues between them were closer to resolution. The Chinese state media said Qin Gang pointed out that the Taiwan question is at the core of China‘s core interests, it is the most significant issue in China–US relations, and it is also the most prominent risk. China has been urging the US side to adhere to the one-China principle and the three China–US Joint Communiques, and truly implement its commitment not to support “Taiwan independence”. Blinken then met China‘s top diplomat Wang Yi for about three hours. The US State Department said Blinken “underscored the importance of responsibly managing the competition between the United States and the PRC through open channels of communication to ensure competition does not veer into conflict.” China‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement wrote that Blinken’s visit “coincides with a critical juncture in China–US relations and it is necessary to make a choice between dialogue or confrontation, cooperation or conflict,” and blamed the “US side’s erroneous perception of China, leading to incorrect policies towards China” for the current “low point” in relations. B l i n k e n ’ s exchanges with the two Chinese officials makes it clear that achieving something tangible was not on the agenda. It was an effort by both sides to keep stirring the pot and not allow anything to spill out. For instance, the American side reportedly invited Qin to the US which the latter accepted but not before Beijing made it clear – and the Americans echoed the sentiment – that “the China–US relationship is at the lowest point since its establishment”. The Blinken visit comes after so much preparation. The initial schedule in February was deferred after the Americans shot down a Chinese “surveillance balloon” over US territory. Had the meeting still taken place and Xi snubbed the American, the freeze in ties would have been complete. Both sides did not want that. So, efforts were made to keep the channels of communication open. CIA chief William Burns visited China in May. China sent its Commerce Minister to the US. Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan called on Chinese foreign policy adviser Wang Yi in Vienna in May. Even as the meetings took place, neither side stopped the exchange of angry rhetoric from both countries over the Taiwan Strait, their broader intentions in the Indo-Pacific, China‘s refusal to condemn Russia for its war against Ukraine, and US allegations from Washington that Beijing is attempting to boost its worldwide surveillance capabilities, including in Cuba. Earlier this month, the Chinese Defence Minister rebuffed a request from US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin for a meeting on the sidelines of a security symposium in Singapore, a sign of continuing discontent. Just before Blinken travelled to Beijing, US President Joe Biden said he hoped to be able to meet President Xi in the coming months to take up the plethora of differences that divide them. Judging by the reactions of both sides after the Blinken-Xi meeting, the agenda for a possible Summit is being set and the issues and stands are being outlined already. The Chinese hope that the US will have an objective and rational understanding of China, walk towards China, maintain the political foundation of China–US relations, and “calmly, professionally, and rationally handle unexpected incidents”. As Wang stated, they expect the US not to assume China was seeking dominance, and not to “misjudge” Beijing based on the trajectories of traditional Western powers. “This is key as to whether the US policy towards China can truly return to objectivity and rationality,” Wang said. On Taiwan, Wang stressed that safeguarding its national unity would always be at the core of China‘s core interests, and that there was “no room for compromise”. Qin also warned that Taiwan was “the core of China‘s core interests”, and that it presented the “most prominent risk” for ties between the two countries. The American side has a single-point agenda that it openly declared, the Secretary made clear that the United States will always stand up for the interests and values of the American people and work with its allies and partners to advance our vision for a world that is free, open, and upholds the international rules-based order. (ANI) China’s economic slowdown could increase prospect of military crisis in Taiwan Strait: Report Beijing [China], June 21 (ANI): China‘s economic slowdown could increase the prospect of a military crisis in the Taiwan Strait as Chinese President Xi Jinping may further embrace nationalism in his unprecedented third term, a prominent US think tank has warned, Nikkei Asia reported. The warning came in an extensive report issued on Tuesday by a bipartisan task force convened by the Council on Foreign Relations, covering various aspects of US-Taiwan relations, including politics, diplomacy, economy and security. In it, the experts warned that Washington’s four-decade-old framework for dealing with Taiwan since establishing diplomatic relations with China in 1979 had become “more and more brittle”. The task force, co-chaired by Mike Mullen, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Sue Gordon, a former principal deputy director of national intelligence, wrote, “This reality, paired with Xi’s unease with the status quo and his determination to make progress toward unification, increases the risk of a conflict.” Tuesday’s report also concluded that China was likely entering a longterm economic slowdown driven by its ageing and shrinking population, its crackdown on innovative technology companies and US export controls on advanced technology. China‘s central bank on Tuesday lowered lending rates for the first time in 10 months, a cut widely regarded as another sign that Chinese policymakers are increasingly concerned about the country’s economic forecast. The report said, “As China‘s economic growth has slowed under Xi, he has increasingly turned to nationalism to justify the [Chinese Communist Party’s] monopoly on power. With a further downturn, he could turn to the Taiwan issue to rally support for the CCP and his personal rule. As Xi approaches the end of his tenure and looks toward his legacy, the risk of a conflict over Taiwan will grow.” Tuesday’s report comes a day after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Xi in Beijing. While the two powers agreed to maintain lines of communication, Blinken’s trip reaffirmed divergent views on the future of Taiwan, with China‘s top diplomat Wang Yi stating Beijing has no space for compromise or concession on the island, according to Nikkei Asia. The Chinese state propaganda machinery, with the support of its jingoistic netizens on social media, portrayed the violent clashes that took place on June 15, 2020, as a tool for PLA’s troop recruitment from among the youth. In the weeks leading up to the anniversary, Twitter accounts suspected to be connected to Chinese and Pakistani states were seen spreading graphic images and videos which sought to depict the Indian Army in a poor light and the PLA as the superior force. On the one hand, the PLA seeks to portray its own performance in these intrusions across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) as an achievement that the Chinese youth should draw inspiration from and aspire to emulate by joining its ranks. On the other hand, by specifically spreading false or exaggerated antiIndia claims, the PLA seeks to gain the upper hand in the information and psychological domain. This would explain the leaking of photographs of injured Indian Army soldiers after the clashes and the divulging of their personal information such as regiment and service number on social media. The use of hashtags such as ‘SouthernTibet’ to refer to the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh is similarly aimed at creating the perception that China‘s claims on sovereign Indian territory are legal and grounded in history. These practices underscore the significance of factual accuracy and on-ground realities when it comes to the overall situation along the India-China border. First of all, it has been established with neartotal certainty, by multiple international news sources, that the PLA lost more than 40 of its troops in the Galwan Valley clash as opposed to India’s loss of 20 soldiers. Secondly, in terms of parity in military capabilities, the PLA finds itself pitted against an unprecedented deployment of the Indian Army and Air Force with evergreater levels of combat preparedness all along the contested border. Thirdly, over the past three years, there has been increased focus and efforts by India to strengthen its border infrastructure along the Chinese border. The clash served as a wake-up call for India to bolster its defences and enhance its connectivity in the border regions. New Delhi initiated several key infrastructure projects, including the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, and airstrips, with the aim of improving accessibility and connectivity to remote border areas. These projects are intended to facilitate easier troop movement, logistics, and overall border management, many of which are in advanced stages of development. Additionally, India prioritized the development of advanced surveillance systems, deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellite imagery, and other modern technologies, to enhance monitoring and intelligence gathering along the border. India also emphasised the importance of border infrastructure for the socio-economic development of the border regions. The improved infrastructure is expected to promote trade, tourism, and local development in these areas. While China‘s edge in capabilities was achieved in the last two decades, thanks to its enhancements in border infrastructure, the brutal repression of ethnic autonomy in Tibet and Xinjiang regions and the overall expansion and modernisation of its military, there are a number of factors which threaten to upset this in the coming future. India’s advantages over China in this strategic theatre of geopolitical competition have witnessed a quantum leap. Today, these advantages include geographical factors, military capabilities, and diplomatic considerations. The Himalayan terrain continues to favour India’s defensive posture and makes it harder for China to launch large offensives. Its relative harshness on the Indian side means that the Indian Army has trained harder to gain experience in mountain warfare and understands the terrain, the challenges of acclimatisation and operational tactics better than the PLA which has to rotate its troops out of highaltitude areas at a faster rate. India’s Air Force also has a stronger presence in the region owing to the Galwan Valley provocation, with forward air bases and air defence systems deployed at a high alert. Presently, India enjoys far greater diplomatic support from various countries, in the context of its right to defend its borders against Chinese aggression. Several nations have expressed concerns about China‘s assertive behaviour and have openly shown solidarity with India. India’s strategic partnerships with Japan, Australia, and the United States, through initiatives like the Quad, have contributed greatly to counterbalancing China‘s power and influence in the Indo-Pacific region. In economic terms, the widespread anti-China sentiments in India that grew after the PLA’s actions in Galwan, continue to fuel calls for boycotts of Chinese products and suspicious investments in sensitive industries. Above all, there is a growing list of multinational corporations that are looking to shift their business and investments out of China to ‘not China‘ destinations, among which India figures as an extremely attractive choice. Notwithstanding these changed realities on the border and in the world, China also faces perhaps a far more disturbing reality at home that has not changed much since the 2020 clashes. It is the disconnect between the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the PLA. President Xi Jinping has moved heaven and earth during his last two terms to make the PLA absolutely loyal to the CCP. His many dismissals of top PLA generals and downsizing and restructuring of its organisations had betrayed quite early the likelihood that the military had veered intolerably far from the Party’s reach. Secondly, Xi’s repeated emphasis on the PLA becoming a force which could ‘fight and win wars’ made it quite clear that the military was not seen as very competent even by the ruling elite. These two problems persist today as seen in Xi’s continued messaging to the PLA. It would then suffice to say that the PLA faces a desperate need to convince both its domestic audiences and international challengers of its potency. And in the present circumstances, the mismatch between Chinese propaganda and realities on the India-China border is likely to grow and make the PLA’s narrative about the Galwan Valley clashes sound more and more hollow with each passing year. (ANI) Ukraine claims recapture of eight settlements in southern region in past two weeks Kyiv [Ukraine], June 20 (ANI): Amid the ongoing conflict with Russia, Ukrainian forces have recaptured eight settlements from Russian forces in the south of Ukraine in the past two weeks, CNN reported citing Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar. In a Telegram post, Hanna Maliar said offensive operations in the Berdiansk and Melitopol directions in the Zaporizhzhia region have liberated the communities of Novodarivka, Levadne, Storozheve, Makarivka, Blahodatne, Lobkove, Neskuchne and Piatykhatky. The status of Piatykhatky was in dispute on Sunday after the Russian government denied a report from its own installed leader in southern Ukraine and refuted his claim that Ukrainian forces had recaptured the village, CNN reported. On Monday, Hanna Maliar said the Ukrainian army had advanced 7 kilometres into Russian-occupied territory in the southern Tavria sector, recapturing an area of 113 square kilometres (44 square miles, according to CNN report. She praised the “professionalism and courage” of Ukrainian soldiers for the advances in the frontline. Hanna Maliar said that Russian forces in eastern Ukraine launched over 5800 attacks and used over 277,000 munitions over the past week, the report said. She said that Russian soldiers had been more active against a Ukrainian advance near Bakhmut and Lyman-Kupyansk, Avdiivka and Mariinka. Earlier on June 13, Ukrainian forces recaptured seven villages from Russian forces in the past week, CNN reported while quoting Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar.

India is the most populous. Its people take democracy as a creed. Like India, the United States too was born into democracy. That makes them both a natural ally. Therefore, friendship between the two is a given. However, the American policy makers were suspicious of India for its “nonalignment”. They kept hyphenating it with Pakistan. The relationship got nowhere as the US was backing all the wrong horses in the world: the Shah of Iran, Ferdinand Marcus of the Philippines, General Cao of South Vietnam, General Pinochet of Chile and the racist, white establishment of South Africa. There were other irritants from both sides. Attacks by the Jihadist elements such as the Taliban and al Qaeda brought them together. Both felt that the terrorists pose an existential threat and must be eliminated. And while working on this goal they came together in a way that had not happened before. Narendra Mod has been to the US several times both as a private citizen and as a prime minister. This time he is coming on a state visit with all the trappings that go with it. During the visit he will address the law makers in a joint session for the second time, an honor given to a very few world leaders. Then there will be a state dinner where the prime minister will meet with who’s who of the United States as well as various luminaries from the Indian community. At the state dinner President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will toast each other to good health and strong democracy and prosperity for their respective countries. They will wish the world in peace. Prior to the dinner they would have discussed a mountain of problems encompassing trade, immigration, communal harmony, issues relating to women, the rule of law. These are tricky issues. Both New Delhi and Washington would have been working on them for weeks before their leaders sign the documents. However, behind all of this would lurk the Ukraine War. India and Ukraine are friends. The Indian government has sent food and medicine to the Ukrainian people. Russia has been its friend from the beginning. When the entire West stood aloof during India’s various plights, Russia continued to remain on its side. Therefore condemning a good friend out right is difficult for India. But it has expressed its opposition to the war. It is trying to find a way to stop the killings. Now and then in the life of a nation a dark period occurs. Such is the case in Russia today. There are Russian militia who are fighting alongside the people of Ukraine to take over Russian occupied areas in Ukraine. There might be other groups as well. If enough people rise up against the war within Russia then the rulers cannot continue to fight. They can violently suppress the dissent. Washington thinks that as friends and well-wishers Indian diplomats could help broker a deal between the countries at war. President Biden wants the factories of his country to keep producing things to export. With a shopping list of multibillion dollar’s worth of merchandise the Modi government has endeared to America. India wants a lot of hardwire for its military. From a practical point of view both the United States and India have to devise a way to respond to China’s expansionism. Then there is Pakistan. If it becomes a failed state then the Jihadists would have a free ride there. Mr. Modi is aware that the Indian community in America is barely 3% of the population. Yet, it has a strong presence. - Nicki Hailey and Vivek Ramaswamy are running to be President while Vice President Kamala Harris is Mr. Biden’s running mate. Above all else the war is ruining the world. Poverty and hunger are rising in many places. As the largest and richest democracies both India and the United States bear responsibility to help. PM Modi’s US visit will really be historic, says Chief Executive of General Atomics that makes Predator drones W a s h i n g t o n DC [US], June 21 (ANI): Chief Executive at General Atomics Global Corporation, Vivek Lall, on Wednesday (local time) said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s State visit to the US is “historic” and a “watershed moment” as India is all set to purchase the Predator drones manufactured by the company. Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Washington DC during his maiden State visit to the US, Vivek Lall, in an exclusive interview with ANI, said, “I think it is a watershed event for the PM this week in the US. I think this will really be a historic visit where both Governments, across sectors, will see a great catalyst for increased convergence and increased bilateral coordination and collaborations.” General Atomics is a defence and diversified technologies company that produces a series of unmanned aircraft (drones) and provides electro-optical, radar, signals intelligence, and automated airborne surveillance systems. Lall said the defence arena between the two countries has converged and will continue to converge in the future. “I see the defence arena has converged in the last few years very significantly and will continue to converge. There are a lot of initiatives, a lot of foundational agreements in place. India has been designated as a major defence partner,” he said. India and the US are expected to ink the deal for the acquisition of 31 Predator drones during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden state visit to the US. India shares vast maritime and land boundaries with two major adversaries — Pakistan and China — and requires constant monitoring of their activities to safeguard its national security interests. The Predators, also called the MQ-9 Reaper, can fly up to 36 hours at a stretch and can be used for focused monitoring of any specific point or area of interest. As many as 31 Predator drones, to be acquired by India from the US soon, would be operated by the tri-services jointly. Speaking to ANI, a senior defence official said, “The decision to buy 31 (Predator or Reaper) drones for taking care of complete surveillance requirements was taken after a scientific assessment.” “The Predator drones would be operated by a joint tri-services command, which will include officers and men from all three services. The proposal in this regard in the defence acquisition council was also sent by the tri-services headquarters,” the official said. Indian personnel would also, very soon, be provided training to deal with the ground-station equipment and the birds, both in both India and the US where it is manufactured. The Chief Executive of General Atomics, added, “So I do believe that as we stand here at Indo X event, which is for startups, it is a very great opportunity for innovation and technology to go to the next level in the industry for both sides. Whether startups or small, medium and large industries get together and take it to a new level”. The INDUSX Summit is currently underway in Washington, DC. “During his keynote at INDUS X being hosted at US Chamber, Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall states that the ‘strategic logic’ of US-India is ‘imminently clear’ and emphasizes that we have to seize the moment,” tweeted US-India Business Council. Meanwhile, PM Modi, on Wednesday, led a special Yoga session at the United Nations headquarters in New York City to mark the 9th edition of the International Day of Yoga. After overseeing the Yoga Day celebrations, PM Modi left for Washington DC where he will receive a ceremonial welcome at the White House on June 22. US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host a State Dinner in honour of Prime Minister Modi the same evening.PM Modi will also address a joint sitting of the US Congress on the same day. On June 23, the Prime Minister will be jointly hosted at a luncheon by US Vice President Kamala Harris and the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. In addition to official engagements, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to interact with leading CEOs, professionals, and other stakeholders. He will also meet members of the Indian diaspora. (ANI)

Speaking to ANI, President of Sanskriti Bachao Manch and priest Chandra Shekhar Tiwari said, “Temple is a place of culture and rituals. It has been our tradition to visit the temple wearing decent clothes. Today, girls go to the temple wearing half pants and wear such clothes, which are indecent. The clothes should be cultural and traditional, according to the dignity of the temple.” Posters pasted inside the temple premises read, “It is a religious place, not a tourist place. Please enter the temple premises wearing only decent clothes. Entry will be prohibited if wearing short clothes, half pants, mini skirts and night suits. Cooperation is expected from all Sanatan Dharmis.” Tiwari also said that women are not seen wearing sarees in pubs or discos. When there is a dress code for such a place, then there should be entry in religious places only in decent clothes. “Sanskriti Bachao Manch has started this initiative for the entire state and we request the administrators and founders of all the religious places and pilgrimage places across the country to allow entry in temple premises in decent clothes,” he said. Posters have been pasted in many temples in Bhopal and an appeal has been made to enter the temple premises only by wearing cultured clothes, Tiwari added. (ANI)

To avoid peripheral illnesses caused by extremes of high or low blood sugar, insulin demands must be carefully calculated and administered regularly. Automated insulin delivery systems, also called artificial pancreases, make diabetes management much less onerous for patients. These systems — with implanted insulin sensors, pumps that deliver insulin inside the body, associated insulin pump controllers, and increasingly sophisticated control algorithms — are rapidly advancing. In APL Bioengineering, by AIP Publishing, researchers from the University of Padova, University of Pavia, and Yale University designed a novel algorithm for controlling implanted insulin pumps that accounts for the unique characteristics of individual patients. Their model, tested using an FDA-approved diabetes computer simulation, proves intraperitoneal (within the abdominal cavity) insulin delivery is fast and closely mimics natural physiological insulin delivery. “Not only is intraperitoneal infusion of insulin much more physiological because you are reproducing the natural physiology, but it simplifies the control problem because you don’t have delays,” author Claudio Cobelli said. “So, this means you can have a very simple, robust controller to handle the everyday situations.” The current method of automated insulin delivery, which is based on technology called continuous subcutaneous glucose sensors, requires patients to manually enter the number of carbohydrates they consume, announcing their meals to the system before they eat. It is also slow to sense and deliver insulin. These delays, along with the likelihood of errors in manual meal calculations, make the system prone to inaccuracies and increase the prevalence of hyperinsulinemia, a state of high insulin in patients that causes diseases of the large blood vessels. Using an FDAintraperitoneal insulin delivery and the physiology of natural insulin secretion and validated a pump control algorithm that is robust to personalization factors and time variance for breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Their work is part of a multiyear, collaborative European project called “FORGET DIABETES” that aims to rapidly advance automated insulin delivery technologies to the point of clinical trials. (ANI) Closed-loop insulin delivery systems may control blood sugar in kids with type 1 diabetes Study finds human biomarkers in retinal vitreous linked with Alzheimer’s disease Washington [US], June 18 (ANI): According to a recent study from the Boston Medical Centre, there is a connection between biomarkers found in the vitreous humour of the eye and pathologically confirmed cases of Alzheimer‘s disease (AD) and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) in post-mortem brain and eye tissue. The findings of the study were published in IOS Press, this exploratory study indicates that biomarkers in the vitreous humor may serve as a proxy for neuropathological disease. The prevalence of dementia such as Alzheimer‘s disease is increasing. Alzheimer‘s disease affects 6.2 million North Americans over the age of 65 as of 2021, with the number expected to rise to 13.2 million by 2060. Both AD and CTE are diagnosed based on symptoms, clinical exam results, and cognitive tests, but the diagnoses are not confirmed until a postmortem study of the brain is performed. Because neuropathological changes in Alzheimer‘s disease begin decades before symptom onset, the therapeutic efficacy is sometimes restricted by the time a patient is diagnosed. A major focus of AD research is on biomarkers that can predict disease and be evaluated before symptoms appear. Patients with eye disease have an increased risk for developing neurodegenerative disease, and several studies have established a link between neurodegenerative diseases and ophthalmic conditions like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and cataracts. Patients with these eye conditions are known to have an increased risk of developing AD, so investigating biomarkers in this at-risk population is important in order to study their role in early diagnosis. “To our knowledge, this is the first study to investigate the role of vitreous fluid biomarkers and link it to confirmed post-mortem brain tissue pathological examination of AD. In addition, this is the first study to find a link between vitreous fluid biomarkers and confirmed CTE. Our findings provide further evidence to support the potential role of vitreous biomarkers in early diagnosis and prognostication of diseases like AD and CTE,” said Manju Subramanian, MD, an ophthalmologist at Boston Medical Center and an associate professor in ophthalmology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Researchers in this study found a link between biomarkers, including total Tau and neurofilament light-chain (NfL) with pathologically confirmed AD and CTE. Alterations of these neurodegenerative proteins in the vitreous fluid confirm that the eye reflects neuropathological changes in the brain and further support investigations into the eye’s potential role in the diagnosis of these diseases. The findings of this study build on the authors’ previous work that biomarkers in the vitreous fluid are linked to cognitive function in live patients with both normal cognition and mild cognitive impairment. These findings are also foundational for future studies to continue investigating the role of biomarkers and other eye fluids in diagnosing, prognosticating, and managing diseases such as AD and CTE. (ANI) Washington [US], June 17 (ANI): A research presented on Saturday at ENDO 2023, the Endocrine Society’s annual conference in Chicago, Ill, said closedloop insulin administration devices enhance glucose control in kids with type 1 diabetes without having any negative consequences. A closed-loop system consists of devices that use a continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump to automatically regulate blood sugar levels for people with diabetes. The system operates “closed-loop” because it continuously monitors and adjusts (starting and stopping) insulin delivery based on the person’s blood sugar levels, without the need for manual intervention. The first closedloop system was approved for pediatric use in the United States in 2020. Since then, many randomized clinical trials have been performed on closed-loop systems. However, according to study researcher Amanda Godoi from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, until now no review of studies evaluating the effect of prolonged use of closed-loop systems on glucose levels in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes has been performed. “Treatment of type 1 diabetes in children is a clinical challenge,” Godoi said, adding, “We found using closed-loop systems led to improved glucose control, which represents an important treatment opportunity to reduce complications and morbidity in children with type 1 diabetes.” The researchers reviewed nine studies of randomized controlled trials lasting at least 12 weeks comparing closed-loop systems to usual care in a total of 892 children with type 1 diabetes. Usual care is the delivery of insulin through multiple daily insulin injections or sensor augmented pumps, which are commonly used in treating diabetes. These are not automated and thus require the patient to monitor blood sugar levels and adjust the insulin delivery accordingly. The children and teens using a closedloop system had a small important 0.35% reduction in HbA1c levels–a blood test that measures average blood sugar levels over the past three months. They also had an average 9.96% increase in time in an optimal glucose range, without increasing the risk of adverse effects such as hypoglycemia (too-low blood sugar) and diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication of diabetes that develops when the body cannot produce enough insulin). “Our results show that closed-loop technology seems to be safe and superior to usual care in controlling glucose levels,” Godoi said. accepted simulator designed for continuous subcutaneous insulin delivery, the researchers made modifications to simulate intraperitoneal insulin delivery. They developed a model that can account for individual patient differences and validated a pump control algorithm that does not require meal announcement. “This is a big plus. It helps with tuning the devices and allows personalization,” Cobelli said. “Different people have different needs, so you need to personalize the algorithms.” Tying together previous work and current experiments, the researchers successfully showed the similarities between

There is now a requirement for the country to achieve total energy independence. This requires multi-dimensional actions on various aspects like energy production, energy efficiency, and wellplanned policy reforms. At present, approximately 55% of India’s energy needs are met through coal. This is a non-renewable resource. There has been a significant decrease in coal imports from 249 million tons in 2019-20 to approximately 218 million tons in the year 2022-23. This was possible due to an increase in domestic production to around 893 million tons in the 2022-23. The government is aiming to increase this to by 1.3 billion tons by 25-26. The Transportation Sector- One of the major sources of energy in India is crude oil, which is mostly used in non-renewable sources of energy. The enormous growing demand for fuel has caused imports to reach a record level of about 87% of domestic consumption in the year 2022-23. The adoption of electric vehicles (EV) may be one of the paths that would help reduce the dependence upon oil for the country. The government of India is already expanding policies for the greater use of electric vehicles. The government is investing in the setting up of infrastructure for charging points, battery building, and exchange facilities. This, along with the promotion of attractive commercials for electric vehicles will aid in the sustainable development of the country and also in the journey towards energy independence. A d d i t i o n a l l y widespread blending of ethanol provides India a triple benefit – employment in the agricultural sector, significant reduction in the foreign exchange out go and lowering of cost. Utilizing Renewable Energy- R e n e w a b l e sources of energy such as solar, wind, water etc. will be helpful in the long run. Our country lies near the equator, blessing us with around 300 days (about 10 months) of sunshine almost every year. Large tracts of available vacant land make India attractive for solar power generation. The country’s long coastline of around 7500 kilometers provides many viable options for offshore wind and hydropower also has the potential to generate around 145,000 MW. Developing these sources further will help in this journey of energy independence by reducing the dependence upon nonrenewable sources of energy. The Key Milestones and the further journey- India is currently the fourth largest wind power generator and fifth solar electricity generator in the world with new technology and capacity being added every single day. In addition to this, around 6.78 GW of Nuclear Power capacities have been created. Green energy share is about 42% of the power production in the country. This has flourished through government initiatives and investment. Encouraging the Regulatory Environment- The government of India is also supporting the initiatives along with start-ups associated with the production of clean energy and its storage. This will ultimately help India in gaining its position in the world regarding green power and green energy. The efforts will also boost the energy independence of India. This will in turn, contribute in enhancing the GDP of the country and make us a significant player in global avenues while becoming energy independent.
