what our writers and featured artists wish to show. We do
not have set rules and allow the words to come naturally
with few edits. Articles are not constrained to simply music

Hi Guys & Dolls...

We have a street / retro style cover this month with an artistic
photo of musical trio The Dirty Outlaws. A beige gradient

background compliments this on the back cover. I’ve been pleased
to hear ‘Warriors’ by Too Many Zooz being played more recently,
we featured it late last year as it is just such a bold and brilliant
piece of music. A few updates from our friends, Leanne Louise is
doing a really cool series of mash up videos on her social media
with her latest being RnB vs UKG, and Oggie has a just released a
bright pop song with Alex Dattilo called ‘Love Is Our Delusion’.
We are also excited to share that issue AM041 has now hit over 5

million views, so thank you all!

In this issue: We begin with a thoughtful message by David
encouraging us to relax, just like a music score, we all need a rest.

Sing-As-You-Go Taxis

Carpool karaoke is turned on it’s head, this is the world’s first taxi in which you
pay for your ride by singing! I love this idea because it not only eradicates the
problem of money worries, but it also encourages people to have fun in what

would usually be a mundane scenario in life. And, of course, it adds a little
extra happiness to the world.

Fortum Singalong Shuttle is a taxi service that only accepts singing as
payment. The emission-free rides are operated on electric cars. Singalong

Shuttle will be introduced in Finland in early July at Ruisrock festival.

What if you could pay your ride by singing? Fortum Singalong Shuttle
combines rideshares with Carpool Karaoke - and is purely run on electric cars.

It is the world’s first taxi that you pay by singing. Singalong Shuttle will
operate at Ruisrock festival in Finland 6-8th of July.

Singalong Shuttle is provided by clean-energy company Fortum, who wants to
engage its customers and the society to join the change for a cleaner world.
The company offers a wide range of clean energy solutions and encourages its
customers to live a more sustainable life. Fortum is also actively developing

sophisticated EV charging solutions. Fortum Charge & Drive EV charging
network is the largest one in the Nordics with over 2000 chargers across the

area.
“With Singalong Shuttle we want to show people in a joyful way how
comfortable and easy it is to drive an electric car,” says Fortum’s Brand
Manager Jussi Mälkiä. “The silent electric cars make it possible to enjoy

singing without background noise and emissions,” he continues.

The Joy Of Sound

We donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital and
Children's Charity's "Room To Hear" appeal which
supports children learning to hear with the cochlear

implant in a specialised room.

“When we switch on a child’s cochlear implants, it’s
vital that we don’t overload their tiny ears,” says

Catherine Broxholme, Lead Audiologist for Cochlear

essential. Many children have never heard sound

Aussi libre que moi

Greetings from the island hoping you are all well!
My share is about Calogero, a French artist I first listened to

back in early 2000's.
I love his style, music and lyrics. A Frenchie Rock with much drive
and groove. What I love the most is that Calogero is a bass player

and his bass lines are awesome, punchy and catchy. His song
"Aussi Libre Que Moi" was sounding some weeks ago. The lyrics
were enticing; do not resist, come and embrace a new relationship;

freely.
Back at the start of June, days were quite hard especially from a
career perspective, and #tbh was not in a mood to talk about it
or even talk to people. Well, the physical stress was here; being on
the job reveals to be more complicated as the feeling of ownership
(from the top) was nowhere to be found. I needed direction and

change.
Guess what, I'm about to jump from an unknown height to reach

out my goal of being my own boss! The major shift was that I
needed to free myself from old beliefs, standards or preconceptions

of life and embrace a new way of thinking. Reaching out for my
essential needs, and most of all be happy. Things are shaping up

as I am closing my last day as an employee.
I'm sharing with hope that it could be a positive boost for others,
knowing that people are changing, willing to take risks and most of

all believing in their own capacity and dreams.
Thank you for your ongoing support.

Take care at your end. Be showered by light and be blessed.

10 Outstanding TV Theme Tunes

Freeview’s recent advertising campaign poses the question “how many
of these themes do you recognise?” A cleverly produced mash up of
theme tunes commences along with a visual collage effect timed to
match the music accordingly. This got me thinking about what theme
tunes are actually danceable or tunes that you’d listen to off-screen and
enjoy. Here’s my top 10.

1. Big Brother: Big Brother UK TV Theme, by ElementFour (Paul
Oakenfold & Andy Gray)
Iconic. It is notoriously linked to the show, but is also an absolutely killer
trance anthem that you would happily rave to in the clubs. The track was
released and even reached #4 in the UK singles chart.

2. Friends: I'll Be There For You, by The Rembrandts
Another famous song in its own right known from the sitcom, it’s fun,
catchy and you can’t help singing along. This pop song brings everyone
together with a theme of love and friendship through the rollercoaster
of life. The song was released, topping multiple US charts and reaching
#3 in the UK singles chart.

3. Grand Designs: Grand Designs Titles by David Lowe
Both opening and closing are beautiful pieces of music, however the
latter really is extraordinary. The opening is distinct with piercing strings
singing to you in a memorable tune. The closing titles take the same
melody, though this time using light piano touches and feathery charm
around it. It’s very delicate and almost magical. These would be pleasant
accompaniments to an evening ball or special celebrations.

4. The IT Crowd: By Neil Hannon
This brings a smile to your face with the easy-going pace, bright synths
and simplicity of production. The memorably tune would work great in
the pop charts with everyone singing “do do do-do”. It’s a track that you
just bop your head to and can fit in a good, leisurely mood.

5. Electric Dreams: By Harry Gregson-Williams
I really love this with a dystopian feel and fragmented structure. The
dark bass, an eerily soft voice and thrilling strings all clashing against
each other yet beautifully moulded. It’s not quite danceable, though
would be the soundtrack to one of those hazy and hedonistic moments.

6. The Ellen DeGeneres Show: Today’s The Day, by P!nk & Greg Kurstin
A feelgood pop song with a motivational tone to suit the inspiring show.
You dance along and enjoy the warmth from the song. The song was
released and ranked well across the world’s charts.

7. Never Mind The Buzzcocks: Unknown
A simple yet strong melody on the guitars, pumping up the energy. This
pop/rock tune is very appealing and gives you a burst of brightness. A
track you’d just rock out to and go wild at the summer festivals.

8. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: Yo Home to Bel-Air, by DJ Jazzy Jeff &
The Fresh Prince
Another singalong favourite, this from the talented Will Smith who made
his mark in the music world with a fresh and fun style. This tells the
humorous plot of the show in a relatable, youthful manner. The song was
released exclusively in the Netherlands and peaked at #3 in their singles
chart.

9. Footballers’ Wives: Unknown
A simple melody with a pop/garage style. It encompasses the charm of
the game in the lightness, and the raunchy drama with the darker turns.
It’s not quite as bold to stick in your mind, but it is a track that would
work well in the underground clubs of the early noughties.

10. Strictly Come Dancing: Strictly Come Dancing - Theme Tune by Dan
McGrath & Josh Phillips
Full of flavour and vibrancy. This song is elegant, lavish and has a wow-
factor through the exciting brass sections. It would be a perfect pairing
to a fancy or exotic dancing occasion.

This has a CHARTED
really nice sweet

the lyrics could
divide opinions but
the alluring track and
smooth vocals pull

you in.

I both love and hate this track.
The spicy and ultra cool vibe

‘Impulse’ by Lee Cassells has a great, strong energy. This is fist-pumping,
jump up, dance all night excitement. There is also a subtle and beautiful call
of an angel as well as so much interesting texture. Bablak's remix is chilled
out with a lovely minimal style.

While some choose to navigate life with a well laid out plan of action, it is
through our natural instinct to operate on impulse that adjusts our path,
opening us up to new experiences that will forever alter destiny as we know it.
When an impulse is met with reaction, like a lightning bolt through the soul
there is no chance of stopping its thunderous effect. Forthcoming July 6, 2018,
on OHM Music, Lee Cassells implores all of the creatures of the night to
succumb to the divine nature of our rhythmic 'Impulse', motivating a vivid
expulsion of energy on the dance floor!

Taking the concept of impulse and morphing it into a brilliant picture of sound,
Lee Cassells bonds industrial tech-centric auditory flavors with an
inspirational progressive flow that implores the body, mind, and soul, to follow
the dark rhythms billowing call. It is in this moment that we let go of our
primitive need to control our surroundings, allowing our animalistic impulse to
take over our psyche, leading us to the precipice of a mind-warping leap into
the great unknown.

With all caution thrown to the wind, we dive in, set free from the bondage of
planned experience. Suddenly, we are met with the pulled back melodic
accents of Bablak who consummates our impulsive journey as he scoops us up
from the depths of Lee Cassells dark dimension, delivering us to new heights
far beyond the shadow-soaked horizon. Enveloped in a full state of spiritual
enlightenment born out of pure and unadulterated spontaneity,
Bablak's remix shows us that even the most overwhelming of influences can
make way for a beautiful release under the electric atmosphere!

The ‘Hear Me’ EP by Rae Stewart tells of the emotions, trials and
tribulations in love. Her voice has a versatile range of raw tones,
smooth sweetness and snappy flows. So, can you feel my groove? ‘Be
Down’ is a highlight with a gorgeous tone of the vocals against a

chilled production, the hook is catchy and the rhythm has you
swaying. ‘Fake Love’ brings despair in the pained voice together
with a gentle piano and twinkles which offset the sombre mood.
Your energy is dirty. ‘Dangerous’ has an incredible main section
showing passion and a fiery spirit, the verses are very rough and
dark. Indecisive, if I really want you. ‘Intwine’ has a lovely harmony

with soft vocals and a light melody. Overall, this is a really
interesting EP where her confidence and strength rises throughout

each test of the heart.

Mancunian singer-songwriter Rae Stewart has released her EP ‘Hear
Me’, featuring artfully mixed soulful vocals with 90’s R&B and hip

hop beats. The EP presents Rae’s versatility as an artist and
showcases her unique Destiny’s Child meets Missy Elliot sound. In
Rae’s own words, the release is, “a big accomplishment for me, as I

share some personal feelings of what I've been through in life,
realness only! I hope you love it as much as I do.”

‘Hear Me’ follows a history of success for Rae. Her single ‘Be Down’
landed a place in the top 30 on Music Week’s Pop/Commercial Chart
and ‘Fake Love’ earned the title of DJ Targets Unsigned Artist Song

of The Week on his Tuesday evening show. Rae is a unique artist
whose talents have begun to blossom throughout the past months,
with the added support of her creative team at Northside Media and

also the talents of producer’s Triple B and Manze.

Rae Stewart’s music story began at the young age of three when she
first started singing. By the age of 18 she had already sang and

performed with a group called Venus alongside two other girls from
Manchester. In that time she had also competed on the TV

programme, Asbo Teens to Beauty Queens. It was always clear that
music was going to be a big part of her life.

Rae kicked off the ‘Hear Me’ EP release with a private listening party
in her home town of Manchester. She is booked to perform on an
all-female line up for a charity in Camden on 25th of May. More

shows are planned for the summer, keep checking her social media
for the latest updates.

‘Want U Back’ by Husky ft Letta is a nice and light summer release. The
house production has a chilled atmosphere with a slight old school
groove. The vocals follow a simple pattern yet are effective and loving.
The Scott Diaz remix has a darker club style.

Husky returns with a club ready deep house cut featuring the vocals of
US based vocalist, Letta. Jacked up beats, deep chords and pulsing bass
are in thick supply here, as Husky combines his usual soulful elements
with a slightly grittier groove. It’s ripe and ready.

On the remix we have the UK born but globally known house producer,
Scott Diaz. Fresh from recently remixing records for Defected,
Peppermint Jam, Lovejuice Records and Blockhead Recordings, Scott
always brings a fresh and unique flavor to a remix. Taking the original
melodies and adding his own vocal cuts he has morphed this remix into a
funky but soulful rendition, lathered in his usual bouncing bass and
dreamy chord progressions. Offering up glimpses of his garage roots also,
this really is a class remix that will stand up for the ages.

‘Still’ by Louise Golbey is an endearing, contemporary love song. The subdued
tone together with her sweet and emotive voice pulls at the heart strings. I can

feel my heart race. The sadness of the verses contrast against the main
sections which portray hope. I believe in you and I. There is a lovely flair to her

voice throughout the track with smooth dragging out of ends notes to
gorgeous high tones. The production is subtle yet elegant and compliments the

vocal.

Following the release of the Deluxe Edition of her ‘Love It Or Leave It’ EP –
Louise’s new single ‘Still’ is a powerful soulful pop ballad co-written with and
produced by Ross O’Reilly (Stealth, Suits). It was included in The Official Charts

New Music Friday list for the release day.

AM I PRETTY NOW? ‘Pretty Now’ by Heidi Petite has a raw honesty
about the modern era of social media and
looking good to be popular. Cut chop snip, am
I pretty now? Her bold and unique voice stands
out against a simple and fresh production. The
little quirks of high notes, smooth hazy warmth
and twinges in the vocal are a nice mix. She
makin herself into what she not.

The message is so powerful and relatable,
especially with instafame being a huge trend.
But do likes/follows matter? Should you be like
everyone else? I think the real question is - are
you happy? Forget everyone else, you’re
beautiful in your own unique style and as long
as you’re being yourself then nothing else matters.

The video is equally emotive, taking loads of
snaps trying so hard to follow the pretty
rulebook and be a social media sensation. This
is book-ended with colourful and creative
drawings to extend this message. The debut
single is shared together with the following
statement: “Lets stop trying to conform to
society’s photoshopped standards.”

'Pretty Now' is a powerful pop song exposing
what we scroll through on Instagram is not
always real. Her upcoming EP is also covering
such delicate topics as bullying and even losing virginity.

On top of this, Heidi is a talented visual artist
who paints all the artwork for her record covers
and creates her own music videos to help
promote her powerful messages, bringing in
over 40k followers on her own instagram.

The ‘Elements’ EP by Holbrook & Skykeeper is energising. The vibrant dance
feeling of the title track gives a huge lively dose to the system. ’Till It’s Dawn’
takes a darker, edgier route propelling you into a stronger, hard-headed spirit.

Two of Interstate's finest exports are back with their brand new E.P. Holbrook
& SkyKeeper make their much awaited return and deliver a double header in
the form of their fiery 'Elements E.P'.

Opening their E.P with 'Elements', the track instantly emanates that
unmistakable Holbrook & SkyKeeper sound. From the tech infused groove,
raucous stabs and lush euphoric pads, it's another fine execution from these
guys.

Next up and continuing with that killer tech vibe, 'Till It's Dawn' offers up yet
more groove fuelled energy from this dynamic duo. Packing a punch from the
off thanks to its infectious groove and heads down affair, the track eases you
into its break which is packed with a moody melody and plenty of energy.

The ‘Thank You’ collection by Asle is a bright, uplifting release. The Club Edit
has a relaxed, lounge style for those pool parties. The Asle Disco Bias Mix
brings a funky, disco feel which is really fun and flavourful. The Black Legend
Project Remix gets a little dark and dirty on the bass yet also contrasts with
the soulful blend.

’Thank You’ takes you to the middle of a glittery dance floor, to a happy place,
to a day or night you’ll never forget!

Asle is practically Danish house music royalty. The producer & DJ has revisited
one of his favs, going back to his roots with spectacular results. On ‘Thank You’
he manages to skillfully fuse house and a killer disco sample to create a hybrid
track full of uplifting energy, with an effortless flow set to soundtrack your
summer and beyond!

“’Thank You’ came out of me having George Duke as a mega hero of mine. I got
to see him live before he died – and the positive energy he brought to the
stage and to his music is a huge inspiration to me.” Asle

The Black Legend Project (Defected) also get involved on the remix duties,
adding that Italian ‘predisposizione’ with a deeper, more techy interpretation
to perfectly suit the late night crowd.

Over the years Asle has had a string of stand out releases for some of the
biggest and coolest house labels around including Size, Cr2, Off Recordings,
Phoenix, King Street, Toolroom, Whoop! and Yoshitoshi. He has a reputation as
a world-class producer, songwriter, engineer, mastering engineer and remixer
still at the top of his game. ‘Thank You’ is just part of a host of exciting new
material dropping over the summer.

The ‘Say To Me’ EP by T & Sugah x NCT holds huge energy with a fun dance /

great build up of excitement together with vocals which grip you. ‘In The Sun
Again’ has really unique sweet vocals and a shift in mood which intrigues.

‘Moments’ by Alexis Ffrench is a delicate narration of life’s journey. The
beautiful, playful melodies portray the light, whilst this contrasts against the

darkness which is told through a passionate yet somewhat deeply sad
undertone.

UK contemporary pianist and composer Alexis Ffrench has marked his return
with the exceptional new single ‘Moments’, taken from his brand new studio

album Evolution - out in September via Sony Music.

This big announcement comes ahead of his scheduled performance at this
year’s Classic BRIT Awards on June 13th at The Royal Albert Hall, where Alexis
will be accompanied by fellow Sony Classical opera singer Pretty Yende, both
backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, showcasing Alexis to the

masses.

A stunning new album that sees Alexis propel himself to yet further heights,
Evolution features a host of guests, from international classical harpist Lavinia

Meijer and Boston-based electro folk duo Tall Heights; to The City of Prague
Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Adam Klemans.

Speaking of the themes and meaning behind the new album, Alexis Ffrench
says; “Evolution’ is inspired by the extremes and inherent fragility of the

human experience - loss, love, birth, sorrow, vulnerability, triumph and despair
but, above all, our ability to come through adversity and radiate the best

versions of ourselves. This album explores the beauty that lies beneath and
the truths that bind us.”

And of the beautiful new track ‘Moments’, Ffrench notes: “Moments is a piece
that was conceived out of hundreds of tiny fragments that I would hum, record

and collate on my phone. The melodies kept coming back to me, and as I
assembled the many fragments like a jigsaw puzzle, and expanded on themes

at the piano I found I had composed a dark, French-Nuovo piece that I had
really fallen in love with.”

With over 75 million streams to date and now over a million active Spotify
listeners a month, Alexis Ffrench is already an established star in the

streaming world, leading the way for the new generation of classical artists,
with his music speaking to a very wide and diverse audience and transcending

all boundaries and genres. With a brand new album in the works and an
exciting partnership with Modest! Management, home to artists including
Little Mix, Olly Murs and more, 2018 already looks very exciting for this

exceptional musician.

‘Journeys Inapt’ by RDubz is an eclectic blend of oriental influences,
tough moods and electronic playfulness which is described to be of a
cyberpunk genre. The RDubz Back In Time Mix of ‘Place And Time’ by
Colourfelt is a highlight with sweet, enchanting strings and a chilled,
flowing beat. ‘Tick Tock’ brings a rough and gritty feel with a huge dark
bass and clangs of metal. ‘Life In Europa’ has a refreshing and pleasing
warm glow in the atmosphere. ‘Wallow’ is very bright and vivid, almost

opulent with the grand piano and sparkling moments, beautiful
oriental touches follow with an airy essence too - a centrepiece of a

track.

‘Vybe’ by Blasta & Steps is a filthy, hyped up, bass-pumping track. The
lively beat with punchy vocals get you in the raving mood. If you love old
school. The ragga flavour and 90s vibe blend well together. The DJ Dappa
remix is a surprising twist to the tone adding sophistication of the piano
with a siesta feel of the Spanish strings.

Downplay is proud to present the new single from Russian producer
Blasta.

‘Vybe’ is pure summertime fun with an incredible lyrical turn from Steps
AKA Steppa Style, delivering a pitch perfect salvo of MC nostalgia
wrapped up in modern production savvy. The beat switches between 2-
step speaker-shaker to 4x4 chest-rattler with ease, running through a
whole trick bag of FX and percussive cuts that is 100% sunshine.

Rinse FM’s DJ Dappa delivers an outstanding remix on the digital flip,
increasing the summer vibes with a take that includes sweet string
samples and orchaestral stabs to devastating effect. No dancefloor is
going to be safe from this one!
