TELEVISION MAY BE THE
EQUALISER THAT EDUCATION

INTRODUCTION

• The author of the article is Dr Hasniza Rais and the title is television
maybe the equaliser that education needs.The main point of the
article is COVID-19 has led to educators going through the process
redefining education.This is an article critique of mine about
television as equaliser that education needs.

SUMMARY

• The main point of this article is can television be the equaliser that
education needs.The issues of the article are teachers,parents and
students struggle to cope with the new culture of online learning,do
families have the right equipments for online classes for their children
and can the classes deliver equal qualities for students.I found that
many low income parents can’t buy internet plans and smartphones
for their child,it seems that television might be the answer.

CRITIQUE

• The causes and effect of television may be the equaliser that education needs are
parents with low income that can’t buy the equipments for online class,younger
students such as first year who can’t use gadget properly and slow internet speed
that causes buffer during class.The effects when television Is used are low income
parents does’nt need to worry about money,first year students who has hard
time using smartphone and computer can just watch the tv and last but not least
the only time television stuttering is when it is rain but now with television
services such as Astro and MYTv that rain problem is reduced.In my opinion
television have a lot benefits for the low income parents because television these
days are cheaper than smartphone or laptop plus the prices of internet these
days are very expensive.My recommendations are sharing device with your
classmate and apply for help whenever the government want to give away
smartphones or laptops.Two values that I found are television channel such as Tv
Pendidikan can rewind the episodes of certain subject so that students can
rewatch it.Next one is the government can provide students with gadgets and
subsidised internet.

CONCLUSION

• In the end,there is a solution for every problem If we are trying to find
them,the same with case if we cannot have smartphones or laptops
we can at least utilized something that is in front of us for example
the television.Television may be the equaliser that education needs.
