Trainer Kathy Walsh busts down barriers
IDAHO
K athy Walsh’s training career intertwines so thoroughly with Washington’s
NEVADA Longacres Race Course that many people think she hails from the Pacific
Northwest. Four times the leading trainer at Longacres, Walsh actually grew

Now based in Southern California, where she trains a 25-horse stable that includes

Stakes-Winning Brother to TIZNOW
TIZBUD
Best Young Sire Prospect in California!
Although TIZNOW raced exclusively on dirt before the advent of “All Weather”
tracks, he has proved this year that he can sire Grade I winners on virtually
any surface: dirt, turf and synthetic. His achievements are all the more
remarkable as only one of his five Grade I winners is out of a stakes winner.
A six-length winner of the $250,000 California Cup Classic at 1 1/8 miles
and a Grade II-placed earner of $230,266, TIZBUD has been well-received
in California, covering 61 mares in 2008 and 57 mares in 2007.
TIZBUD’s first California crop will race next year.
