RE : DILAPIDATION OF BUILDING - PHOENIX REGIONAL OFFICES

The aforementioned has reference.

I have, upon receipt of several complaints, visited the above mentioned
facility. I have noted that the building is shabby, ablution facilities are
unhealthy, and there are leaking pipes, bird droppings, unstable railings, poor
ventilation and a general unhygienic environment.

The building in itself is run-down with caving ceilings and other hazardous
identifications.

It is my reflected view that a comprehensive investigation be conducted and a
complete overhaul and infrastructural upgrade be considered for this facility.

Poor, elderly and frail individuals make use of this institution and we must at

all times ensure that we offer services in a humane and dignified manner. It is

unacceptable that vulnerable groups are treated callously with little or no
reflection for their health needs. I am alm50o0 7s5t8c0 ertain that this is not thTeel.f:ir(s03t1)
time that you have received concerns over this matter and trust that you will

execute a plan to remedy this situation. (031)

Kind regards

Councillor Jonathan Annipen
