Timmy is a boy who lived with his father, a hatmaker. While helping his father, Timmy found a mysterious hat and something happened. What could it be?

Timmy and theMysterious Hat

Timmy was the son of a hat maker. His father was well known inthe town because he made many beautiful hats. Timmy oftenwatched his father work carefully with cloth, needles, and thread.Growing up in such an environment, Timmy also loved hats verymuch. He even had his own small collection of hats in his room.

One morning, Timmy’s father said,“Timmy, can you go to townand buy some clothes for me?” “Of course, Father,” Timmyreplied with a smile.Timmy walked to the town and bought the cloth. While walkinghome, he felt playful. As he crossed a wooden bridge, he tossedthe cloth into the air.Suddenly,WHOOSH!

A strong wind blew and carried the cloth away. “Whoa!” Timmyexclaimed. The cloth slipped from his hands and flew downtoward the riverbank below the bridge.“Oh no! Father needs that clothes.” Timmy said anxiously.Timmy quickly climbed down to pick it up. When he reached thebottom, he grabbed the cloth. However, something caught hisattention.

There was a beautiful hat lying on the ground. The hat lookedvery unusual. It was shiny and carefully made.Timmy slowly walked closer.“Wow, I have never seen a hat like this before. Even my fathermight not be able to make something this special,” Timmywhispered.

He looked around and called out,“Hello? Is anyone here?”But the place was completely silent.Timmy picked up the hat and examined it. “Maybe I should tryit,” he said.He placed the hat on his head.“It fits perfectly!” Timmy said happily.Without much thought, Timmy wrapped the hat in cloth andbrought it home.“I will add this to my collection,” he said excitedly.

On the way home, the bright sky suddenly turned dark. Darkclouds filled the sky and heavy rain began to fall. Thunderroared loudly while strong winds blew everywhere.Timmy ran as fast as he could to his house. When he arrived home, he quickly placed the hat inside hishat collection cupboard. Then he went to look for his father.“Father?” Timmy called. There was no answer.

Timmy walked into his father’s room and was shocked. Theroom was messy. Papers, cloth pieces, and threads werescattered across the floor. Rainwater had entered throughthe open window, making the floor wet. Then Timmy noticed something written on the wall.“THE HAT OR YOUR FATHER.”

Timmy’s heart started beating fast. “My father is in danger!”he said. Without wasting time, Timmy grabbed the hat andran back to the bridge despite the heavy rain.Under the bridge, Timmy saw a glowing circle on the ground.“I must save my father,” Timmy said bravely. He stepped into the circle.

Suddenly, a bright flash appeared. When Timmy opened hiseyes, he found himself in a dark and strange place. Then he saw his father trapped inside a cage.“Father!” Timmy shouted. He ran toward the cage and triedto open it.Suddenly, the ground began to shake.Timmy slowly turned around. Behind him stood a giant trollholding a huge hammer. The troll’s face looked furious.

The troll roared loudly.“WHERE IS MY HAT?”Timmy trembled with fear. “The hat… it is here,” Timmy saidsoftly. The troll grabbed Timmy with one large hand. “Why did youtake my hat?” the troll growled.Timmy lowered his head. “It was very beautiful and unique.I wanted it for my collection,” Timmy admitted. The troll looked at the hat. “This hat is ruined,” the troll saidangrily. Timmy felt very guilty. “I’m sorry, I should not takeyour hat without permission.” Timmy said quietly.

The troll remained silent for a moment. Finally, it spoke again. “I might forgive you if you can give mesomething in return.” The troll glanced toward the cagewhere Timmy’s father was trapped. Timmy quickly cried,“Please don’t punish my father! He did nothing wrong!”Then, an idea came to Timmy. “What if I make a new hat foryou?” Timmy suggested. “I promise I will try my best to makeanother one just like this.”The troll thought carefully. “Very well,” the troll said slowly. “Iwill give you three days to make a new hat. But remember, your father will stay here with me until you come back.”Timmy nodded with determination. “I understand. I promise,”said Timmy.

When Timmy returned home, he immediately drew the designof the hat and began working. On the first day, Timmy worked very carefully. He cut the clothand started shaping the hat. On the second day, the hat wasalmost finished. Timmy felt very tired after working for manyhours. “I will rest for a short while,” he said.Timmy closed his eyes.

Suddenly, he heard a strange sound.ikkk…ikkk…ikkkTimmy slowly opened his eyes. He saw a tiny mouse runningacross the table. “Oh no!” Timmy shouted. The mouse hadbitten the hat. The hat was torn and damaged. Timmyquickly chased the mouse away and picked up the hat.“This is terrible,” Timmy said nervously. He tried to repair thehat carefully. He sewed the torn cloth. He adjusted the shapeagain. But no matter how hard he tried, the hat no longerlooked the same.Timmy sighed.

“I cannot give this hat to the troll,” he said. Timmy looked at theclock. He only had one day left. Taking a deep breath, Timmysaid,“I have no choice. I must start again.”That night, Timmy worked harder than ever before. He cut newcloth. He stitched carefully. He shaped the hat slowly andpatiently. Finally, just before the third day ended, the new hat wasfinished.

Timmy quickly returned to the bridge and stepped into theglowing circle once again. The troll was already waiting for him along with his father inthe cage. Timmy walked forward and said politely,“Mr. Troll, Ihave completed your new hat.” He handed the hat to thetroll. The troll carefully examined the hat for a long moment. Then,it sighed deeply.“You know that taking someone else’s belongings withoutpermission is wrong, don’t you?” the troll said. “Yes,” Timmyreplied.“I am very sorry for taking your hat and damaging it,” Timmysaid honestly. The troll nodded slowly. “It is alright, Timmy. You corrected your mistake and learned an importantlesson.”“But remember this,” the troll warned.

“I promise,” Timmy said firmly. Then, Timmy added politely,“May my father and I return home now?” The troll allowedTimmy to leave. Timmy returned home safely with his father. From that day on, Timmy always remembered to ask forpermission before taking something that belongs tosomeone else, because what seems ordinary to us can bevery valuable to someone else. The end.
