BASF replicated corn leaf disc assay trial. 2013. Leaf discs float, normally. When the air
spaces are infiltrated with solution the overall density of the leaf disc increases and they
sink. The infiltration solution includes sodium bicarbonate, which serves as the carbon
source for photosynthesis. As photosynthesis proceeds oxygen is released into the
interior of the leaf which causes discs to rise. The rate that the discs rise is an indirect
measurement of the net rate of photosynthesis.

The Science of Plant Health

 The F-500® chemistry found in Priaxor® fungicide provides more than just disease control.

 The EPA has issued this chemistry a Plant Health label in addition to disease control.

 Proven Plant Health benefits include added growth efficiency and stress tolerance due to
increased nitrogen utilization efficiency, reduction of respiration, increased photosynthesis,
inhibition of the stress hormone ethylene, improves water utilization and tolerance to heat
stress under drought conditions.

 Improved Plant Health provides increased yields, improved stalk and straw strength for better
harvestability, enhanced root growth, more uniform and improved seed quality, and an
increased tolerance to stresses such as hail damage.
