Thank you for your dedication
Mr. and Mrs. Signature
Mr. Yisroel Moshe Blackstein
Father of Zachariah Blackstein
R. Yisroel Blackstein was born in Mamaroneck, New
York. He gave up a merit scholarship to MIT in order to
stay in a Jewish environment and continue his Jewish
education. From that point on every spare moment
was devoted to Torah learning.
His profession was in computer systems design and
development. He became a world-renowned leader in
the information technology industry. Yet his passion
remained in Torah and learning. He never went
anywhere without sharing a Torah tidbit. He was often
approached by people of all backgrounds and ages for
his sage advice and guidance.
R. Yisroel (or Kenny as he was fondly called) left a
lasting impression on anyone who crossed his path. He
was a devoted father and grandfather. His legacy lives
on in his wife and family who continue to carry on his
love of Torah.

Mr. Sheldon Zack
Father of Marceia Zack
Sheldon Zack was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn,
New York where he attended Yeshivah Torah Vadaath
on Wilson Street. His father owned a delicatessen on
Marcy Street and South 9th Street for 40 years. His
maternal grandfather owned a Jewish bookstore on
the Lower East Side. Sheldon had an older sister,
Dorothy, who attended the Bais Yaakove on Division
Street.
Sheldon joined the Boy Scouts of America in 1948 and
was a Scout Master of Troop 26. He attended Eastern
District High School before transferring to the Food
Trades Vocational High School in Manhattan and
graduated as a butcher. He decided that he was not “
cut out” to be a butcher and went to work for the New
York City Transit Authority. He attended Brooklyn
College at night. His father became ill and the family
moved to Far Rockaway.
Sheldon became active in in the Far Rockaway Young
Democrats, helping to elect Senators and
Assemblymen. He helped start a Singles group at the
Manhattan Beach Jewish Center where he met Phyllis
Brodsky. They married and settled in Far Rockaway.
Sheldon helped found the Edge Vern Jewish Center in
1963. Sheldon and Phyllis were very active in the shul.
Phyllis served as secretary and Sheldon became

CSI.
Sheldon and Marceia attended services at CSI
regularly. Marceia attended Hebrew School and
belonged to NCSY. Sheldon was active in the Men’s
Club.
Sheldon retired from the Transit Authority in 1991. He
continued to be an Unemployment Appeals Specialist,
representing employers and employees at appeals
hearings.
Sheldon’s illness in 1997 led him to be active in CSI’s
Bikur Cholim Committee. He contributed greatly to the
Committee’s success.
Sheldon learned Balloon Sculpturing in 1995. His ability
to charm children with his fantastic creations brought
joy to many families.
In the last years of his life, Sheldon devoted much of
his time to expanding his Jewish education. He took
many classes at the Kollel of Manalapan, Chabad, the
Jewish Learning Center, and Monmouth Torah Links.
He was never satisfied with easy answers but always

Aaron & Rachael Breslin
Young Leadership Award
Aaron and Rachael Breslin are an exemplary couple
proudly representing Torah Judaism with a strong
desire to share their love and joy of an authentic Torah
lifestyle. They both grew up in Manalapan attending
different Shuls and various local educational
institutions. They witnessed firsthand the impact an
organization can have on impressionable children and
teenagers and they readily absorbed the warmth and
inspiration these opportunities provided. After they
both spent some time studying in Israel they married in
January 2017 and accepted positions which allow them
to actively partake in Kiruv and Jewish education.
Aaron currently serves as the Assistant Director of
Central & Southern NJ for NCSY and is also the
Hebrew School Principal for JEPY. Rachael is an
elementary school teacher at Bnos Esther Malka
continuing to educate and inspire young Jewish
children. In December 2017, the Breslin family grew as
they welcomed their daughter, Atara Raizel into this
world. Together they will definitely make their eternal
mark on the Manalapan Jewish Community and
Beyond.

It is with great Hakoras Hatov to Hashem, friends & all
the Rabbeim for their continued prayers & support
over the years. Hashem decided that Y’Shaya Leib
ben Moshe HaLevi’s tikkun was filled & brought him
home.
This was after he touched the lives of many with his
warm smile, generous acts of Chesed & continued
desire to learn, proving it’s never too late. His quest for
knowledge was immeasurable as he took countless
classes. His selflessness & dedication of Chesed &
Ahavas Torah in the Manalapan/Marlboro area is an
inspiration to all those whose lives he touched.
I am blessed & fortunate to have had such a devoted &
loving role model who taught me not through words
but through action. You showed me the meaning of
dedication & devotion to Torah values & principles. A
father is someone who is APPRECIATED for his
guidance, RESPECTED because he gives unconditional
love & support, VALUED for his hard work &
dedication, & LOVED for the one thing that is treasured
most…his family!!
I hope that I have made you proud in the past &
continue to make you proud today by following in your
footsteps. Your guiding hand, continued support &
encouragement has made me who I am today. It will
remain with me forever in my heart.
My father was not one to seek Kavod, but would have
appreciated tonight very much.

To our dear Husband, Father and Grandfather,
Reb Pinchas ben Reb Moshe:
Your firm belief in Hashem and his Torah has been a
beacon of light for our entire family. Your exemplary
Middos, Emunah and your love of your fellow man has
taught us how to live our lives and has inspired us to
bring your values forward to the next generation.
‘Torah im Derech Eretz’ lives on through your children
and grandchildren. Although you are no longer with us
in this physical world, we remain truly inspired and
guided by your teachings. May your memory be for a
blessing and may our learning Mishnayos in your
memory provide you additional benefit in Shomayim.
To the other holy Jews who have passed away and are
being remembered today, you have raised wonderful
families that have made Torah the driving force in their
lives. May your neshomas all have a big aliyah in
Shomayim from the Torah and good deeds of your
wonderful children and grandchildren.
