REGIONAL COLLEGE IN LIMAVADY TO LAUNCH
AN INDUSTRY-STANDARD ‘WELDING ACADEMY’

Fyfes has been working together with North West
Regional College, Limavady in setting up a top of the range
workshop. NWRC will be host to a new ‘Welding Academy’
which will commence early September.

SPECIALIST WELDING ACADEMY The NWRC course covers Manual Metal Arc, Metal Inert
Gas, Tungsten Inert Gas, Gas Welding and Cutting
The welding academy will provide enlisted students with
an in-depth understanding in welding practice suitable North West The student has an opportunity to weld a
for different abilities. The course covers Manual Metal Regional College range of materials including Aluminium and
Arc, Metal Inert Gas, Tungsten Inert Gas, Gas Welding and Stainless Steel
Cutting.

The student has an opportunity to weld a range of materials
including Aluminium and Stainless Steel at different skill
levels. The course is designed for those candidates who
wish to develop their basic skills or enhance existing skills
which will in turn produce high level, professional industry
standard work.

COURSE SUPPORT FROM FYFES

“In order for our students to reach their full potential we
need industry standard equipment to enable us to meet
the growing demands within the welding sector. Fyfes
have been more than helpful in providing professional
presale information regarding the products as well as
offering support, set-up and training on all the equipment
purchased,” explained Raymond Bolt, the Curriculum
Manager.

The course is an 8 week programme which will take place
Monday – Friday. Along this, NWRC in Greystone run two
night classes per week covering both Level 1 and Level 2
Welding. Students will be assisted by Adrian Mullan, the
Course lecturer, and Gerry McGeady, the course Technician,
throughout the programme.
