About the Institution The Ministry of Human Resource Development has accorded the establishment of Inter University Centre for Teacher Education (IUCTE) under the scheme of Pandit Madan Mohan MalaviyaNational Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) to the Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru since January 2018. Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru is a constituent unit of the National Council for Education Research and Training(NCERT), New Delhi. NEP Orientation Programme (8 – Days Online Training) Program ID: MMC-041-2024-MAR-A-01151 (Dates: 11thMarch -19th March, 2024) Organized by UGC- MALAVIYA MISSION TEACHER TRAINING CENTRE,RIE, MYSORE For Details contact: [email protected] The objective of this scheme is to give a new impetus to and focus on practices and issues related to teachers, teaching, teacher preparation and professional development, curriculum design, designing and development, designing and developing assessment and evaluation methodology, research in pedagogy and developing effective pedagogy. The focus is also on conducting capacity- building programs, seminars, conferences and workshops at the national and international level for quality enhancement. The Centre has recently been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre for organizing professional development programmes for the facultymembers working in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The MMTTC has now embarked on conducting programmes on Orientation and Sensitization of faculty members of HEIs on the on the National Education Policy 2020. These programmes are being organized to achieve the vision of NEP 2020 which emphasizes the creation of committed, enthusiastic and competent faculty at all levels of education.
About the Programme The NEP 2020 has propounded several themes having immense implications for teachers of Higher Education. This Orientation Programme is of eight days duration, which is recognized by the UGC as equivalent to a Short Term Programme for Career Development (CAS) purposes. It will be organized as a fully on-line programme which the faculty will attend from their places of work. Hence, HEI faculty working anywhere in India are eligible to register for the programme. This 8-day programme will consist of two sessions of 90 minutes each during the post-lunch session so that the faculty can attend to their Institutional activities during the pre-lunch session. The programme will focus on the following eight themes. Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education Indian Knowledge Systems Academic Leadership, Governance and Management Higher Education and Society Research and Development Skill Development Student Diversity and Inclusive Education Information and Communication Technology Eligibility All Regular as well as Temporary Faculty Members working at Higher Education Level in State & Central Universities, Affiliated Colleges, Constituent Colleges, Private Colleges, etc. are eligible. Modality Fully on-line programme of 8-days duration (excluding Sunday).
