BIODIVERSITY
01 Biodiversity is the variety of living organisms on the Earth
that consist of plants, animals and microorganisms.
02 An endemic species is an original species which can only
be found in certain areas.
03 - Invertebrates are animals without a backbone.

CHAPTER 3 -
NUTRITION
01 A balanced diet is a diet that contains all the food classes
in the right quantities that are required by the body.
02 Calorific value is the total amount of energy released when
1 gram of food is completely burned.
03 Food digestion is a process of breaking down food from
big and complex particles into small, simple and soluble
molecules so that they can be absorbed into the body cells.
04 Villi are very tiny projections which increase the surface
area for food absorption.
05 Assimilation is the process of distributing the end product
of digestion for body cells.
06 Defecation is the process of
elimination of faeces
from the body.
