This DIY craft is one that takes a little bit of planning but has an impressive finished product. Pick your favourite flowers and leaves. Flowers that are easily flatten will probably work best, such as rose petals, lavender, violets and daisies. Thicker or more rounded flowers may not flatten as easily. Place the flowers and leaves on a piece of paper in a thick, heavy book. Make sure the flowers are slightly spaced apart. Put another piece of paper on top of the flowers before closing it, so that the colour or moisture of the flower does not transfer to the pages of the book. After the flowers are completely dry and flat, arrange them into any patterns you like on a manila card. Use glue to stick the flowers and leaves on the card. Then, cut the card into any shape and size of your choice. Draw patterns and decorate the bookmark according to your personal preference. Write a message/ wishes on the reverse of the bookmark. Then, use a plastic wrapper to wrap up the entire bookmark. Use Sellotape to hold the wrapper in place. Punch a hole at the top of the bookmark and attach a string or ribbon to it. Your bookmark is now ready for use. How To Make Bookmarks With Pressed Flowers Unit 1 What Do You Like? Theme People & Culture CONTOH

Why I Love Swimming If you were to ask me what my favourite sport is, my answer would be swimming. I started learning how to swim when I was five years old and I have been swimming ever since. There are many reasons why I love swimming, but I’ll just share a few with you, and maybe I can even encourage you to go for a swim. The first reason that I love swimming is that it can be extremely relaxing. I love the feeling of floating on the water and feeling almost weightless. When I am swimming, I am thinking about nothing. I have no thoughts, and my arms pass over my ears and I am propelled forward. I also love the way the water fills me up. 1 I sometimes feel as if I could simply dissolve and become part of the water. I find that whenever I leave the pool, I feel totally relaxed. On the other hand, it can also be a fast-paced competitive sport which raises your heartbeat. 2 It is great fun racing across the pool as fast as you can. Trying little tricks like underwater handstands and flips also puts a broad smile on my face. Another reason that I love swimming is that it has more variety than other sports. 3 Adding swimming equipment like flippers, a snorkel or a noodle changes the experience yet again and can help you develop your swimming technique. Swimming provides a nice, refreshing break on a hot, sunny day. 4 The pool makes you feel instantly better. And I think it adds to the summer holiday feeling, as for me the summer months are when I swim the most. It is a sport which can be done all over the world in many beautiful locations. You can choose to swim in a swimming pool or to go splash in the sea. Last but not least, it is a life skill which everyone should have. It can save your life. Learning to swim and being a strong swimmer can save your life in more ways than one. It could keep you from drowning and lower your risk of heart disease. Remember that you never know when you will need your ability to swim. CONTOH

A book based on the talk, ‘The Last Lecture’, was translated into 30 languages and became an international bestseller. 2 The message of the extract above is that Pausch A was a cancer patient who inspired others. B gave his last lecture before he died. C was an author who made millions. “Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. B we can do anything we believe we can do. C we must not say that we can do everything. Staring at the darkness, Rahman was listening intently. Jade is passionate about shifting the focus for young women from how they appear to the possibilities of what they can do and also about raising awareness about the impact of climate change on the Earth’s beautiful and fragile polar regions. 6 From the blog post above, we can conclude that Jade A was trying to be a record-breaking explorer.
