A time I visited a new place was in 2016 for the summer. I visited Hawaii and
Samoa, but i stayed in Samoa longer. I stayed in Samoa for about two and a half
weeks and I stayed in Hawaii for one and a half weeks. I actually went to
American Samoa which is United States Territory but Western samoa is
independent. In order to get to Western Samoa from American Samoa, you
would have to travel on a boat. The reason I got to go on an amazing trip was
because i culminated from elementary school and my nana gave me the chance
to visit the beautiful Islands. My trip was fun from the start at L.A.X. but when I
got to the airport in Samoa, I was even more excited then I was on the
airplane.More than two-hundred people that didn’t have a flight there at the
airport in Samoa were there waiting to welcome visitors and family. It was night
time when I got there, but I didn’t really care beacause my aunty’s house or as
people in Samoa consider, a mansion was not so far from the airport.. I wasn’t
even going to unpack because I was going to eat and then go straight to sleep.
In the morning, I got a better view of the Island because I ran straight out of the
house. The road was very bumpy and I actually found out that Samoa only has
one long road around the Island. I was not only in Samoa for a vacation, but I
was there for my aunty and uncle’s graduation from a school called “Kanafou.”
Kanafou is a school for a married couple to learn how to be a ministerand
minister’s wife.. Except it’s mainly for the man. A lot of my cousins were there so
it was really fun. Therefore, I enjoyed my trip.
Fun Fact: My uncle was the founder of the school in
Samoa called “Kanafou”

I am a christian and I go to a church in Carson California located on 600 East Double
Street. The name of my church is,”United Samoan Church” and at my church, we
have Sunday School for the children. Sunday School starts at 8:30 but the Sunday
School teachers have a devotion meeting at 8:00 a.m. Most families at the church are
related to me, but some are not. All of the families are related to at least one other
family in the church. A lot of my cousins that go to my church actually go to Carson
Street Elementary, Delamo Elementary, Dolores Elementary, and Stephen White
Middle School. At my church, we have something called White Sunday that happens
every year in November. It is basically a church service that is held by the kids of
United Samoan Church. We have a morning service and an evening service. In the
morning service, we sing songs(some kids are chosen to conduct the songs), some
girls say the prayer, read a bible verse, and literally preach, then each family has their
kids do mermory verses and then sing a song. Right after the morning service,
everyone goes out to eat with their own family and usually my brothers and I go with
my family from Oceanside because they always come down for our White Sunday.
White Sunday is a culural thing for all Samoans around the world. At the night service,
the boys of the sunday school do the exact same things the girls in the morning
service did except they have different verses and prayers. We also do a long play/long
skit which lasts an hour and a half. Another thing my chiurch does actually
encourages the kids. The elders and the grown-ups of my church expect us kids to do
well with our lives. They don’t just encourage us kids to know more about Jesus, but
they encourage us to do well in school. Every year before school starts, my church
give awards out at the end of the church service for the kids with a GPA of 3.0 and
above. The prize is actually money. For example I got 100 dollars from the church this
year because I am in Middle Schooll. HIgh School students get 150 dollars and
elementary school students get 70 or 50 dollars. The sunday school actually went to
Kott’s Berry Farm and Soak City on July 31, 2017. The church has many more
activities that I can’t even explain because it is too much. I’m proud to be a christian
and l love going to church.
(A)chievements
An invention that has improved my life is technology. I feel as if life would be way
different without technology because then communication throughout the world
would be way slower then how it is now. With technology, people could
communicate with family and friends all over the world. If we didn’t have
technology, we would have to send letters and messages around the world which
would take about a week for just one message to get wherever you want it to go. It
would take way too long for an important message or emergency tto get to your
location or other people’s ;location which, would be very bad. So in conclusion,
Technology improved my life.
(P)olotics
In my house, our household rules are to wake up between 6:00 to 6:30 am and get ready
and wash-up, go to school (learn something and do well), come home and do our
homework, do our chores, take a shower, eat , and then go to sleep. If we break a
household rule, we will get in trouble and we’d get our ipads taken away, our tv privileges
taken away, and we’d probably go to bed early for the whole week, including the
weekends. When my brothers and I were little, we never had to do chores and we were
never really use to doing them but things changed while we were getting older. I started
washing dishes when I was in third grade. I’m so use to washing dishes now and
sometimes I hate washing them. My dad and my whole family always tells my brothers
and I that our chores are our priorities. My brothers and I know what we should and
should not do so we shouldn’t break any of our household rules.
(E)conomics
My household chores are to wash the dishes, shine the furniture and the tv, and
wash and fold my clothes. My brothers and I don’t have an allowance and it’s
always been that way but we’re fine with that because we are use to not getting
money and we don’t expect any money back. When I grow up, I plan to go to The
University Of Hawaii and I also plan to work part time at PCC (polynesian cultural
center). After I go to college, I want to be a singer and travel around the world. I
love to sing because it makes me happy. I plan to have a good future.
(S)ocial Structure
My mother and father are divorced but I do siblings. I have two brothers named West=11
and Nathan=10 then I have a little sister and brother from my mom and her fiance named
Mona=2(about to turn 3) and Chase=5 about to turn 7 on September 1st. My mothers
fiance has a son which I consider my step-brother named Josiah(jojo). My mothers name
is Crystal=34 and my step-dad’s name is Derek=29. My mom, her fiance, his son, Chase,
and Mona live in Oceanside California and my two other brothers, West and Nathan live
with my dad and I, here in Carson. Therefore, there are six of us with my mom. When my
brothers and I are in Carson, my dads girlfriend Lynette(Netty) has three kids of her own
which my to brothers and I consider our step-siblings names are, Falina=10, Skye=9, and
Dillion=8.The thing I like about all of us is that my brothers and i are all one year apar and
they’re all one year apart. I’m 12, West is 11, Nathan is 10, Falina is 10, Skye is 9, and
Dillion is 8. So, there is also six of us on my dad’s side. Both sides of my family live all
over the world and I wouldn’t name all the different names of the states, countries, and
cities because it would take too long.I love both sides of my family and I will always enjoy
the memories I have with all of my siblings.
