Since 1989, our programs have included full-service medical
care, HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention, sexual health,
mental health, substance use counseling and harm reduction.
Our three-decade commitment to our community was founded
as a direct response to the lack of resources available for
Latinx and LGBTQ+ individuals at the height of the HIV/AIDS
crisis in Southern California. All of our services are offered
to the community for free. BIENESTAR operates community

Founded in 1938, the Blind Children’s Center (BCC) is a 501(c)
(3) nonprofit organization that provides FREE high-quality
early childhood education programs for children ages 18
months to five years old (Head Start, Early Head Start, CA
State Preschool). We also offer Home-based Early Head
Start services for infants and toddlers from birth through 36
months and pregnant mothers. BCC has specific expertise in
supporting very young children who are blind and visually
impaired and those with multiple disabilities. Our small
class sizes, experienced staff and specialists all lend to
individualized instruction and support for each child in our
program.

GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles (GLA) provides no-cost solar
systems to homeowners who earn below 80% of the area median
income, and solar job training and placement for underrepresented
community members and people of color that experience systemic
inequity and barriers to growth within the workforce. We bring
solar energy to frontline communities and train the green workforce
of tomorrow. Our programs assist communities in accessing clean
energy technology and solar job training and addresses systemic
issues such as underemployment, pollution and energy poverty.
Since 2007, GLA has installed over 3,000 solar electric systems for
income qualified households, providing hands-on training to nearly
5,000 volunteers, students, and job trainees, and placed nearly 1,000
individuals in fast-growing jobs in the solar and renewable energy
industry.

The International Institute of Los Angeles (IILA) was founded
in 1914 to help immigrant women and girls adapt to their
new lives in Los Angeles. Today, IILA offers a wide array of

include immigration legal assistance, refugee resettlement,
an accelerated employment program for new arrivals,
case management for survivors of human trafficking and
unaccompanied minors, free or low-cost childcare through
9 state-funded pre-schools, daycare, and family centers, and
subsidized transportation and nutrition services. In 2022,
IILA assisted 53,000 clients, including helping resettle 1,000
Afghan and Ukrainian refugees.
