In autumn 2019 I started
doing these random
little ink portraits
to have fun and warm
up in the morning. I’ve
kept on making them
when I can, and
hopefully they’ll soon
be collected in a book.
I use my artist’s taboret to store tools and paints. I got
this when I was a kid and I’ve used it my whole life.
In the past few years I’ve become addicted
to inking with a sable brush. My favourites
are the Raphael 8404 #2 and Raphael 8408
#3 Kolinsky Sables. The Tombow and
Kuretake brush pens are great for details.
I hate drawing cars or
vehicles, but most comics
I’ve done have required me
to draw cars so I started
collecting these die-cast
models to use as reference.
Art books and comics are my weakness. I have stacks all over the
place, split between my studio and my home office. I’ve had that
gorilla mask forever – my daughter Neko used to be terrified of it!
