Purpose of
the

DEPARTMENT

Historically, Black Rock Mine recognizes that the majority of black South Africans were not able to participate in the mainstream economy and
Supplier Development serves as an effective means of promoting meaningful participation of Northern Cape based black South Africans in the
mainstream economy.
The Black Rock Mine Operations Supplier Development Policy & Procedure is drawn in support of Black Rock Mine Operations overall
commitment to the transformation of the Northern Cape economy through the adoption of the broad-based black economic empowerment
(“B-BBEE”) framework.
In Practice, Black Rock Mine Operations Supplier Development Policy & Procedure is therefore lead by guidelines expressed in the terms of
Mining Charter gazetted and the amended Codes of Good Practice of the dti gazetted.
This Procedure is aimed at setting implementation guidelines for the management team members of the Black Rock Mine Operations and to
outline a process to support and document Enterprise and Supplier Development decisions, which will ensure implementation of the
Enterprise and Supplier Development program.

Programmes Available

Both Our Supplier and Enterprise Development
Programmes include but not limited to:

1.Non-monetary assistance - development
programmes that assist black-owned enterprises
with business, management and organizational
skills

2.Monetary assistance - interest-free loans, grants
and/or favourable payment terms

The programmes are available to Enterprises from
the John Taolo Gaetsewe Municipality District.

Application Process
The Enterprise or Supplier will complete the ESD
application form (available on request) and submit all
documents to Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations
ESD Section to [email protected].
Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations will handle the
request internally and will give formal feedback to the
requestor of the outcome of the request, approved or not
approved, once the request for funds are completed.
