Why are winter tires so important?

Between ice, slush, and poor visibility, winter driving in Canada has never been easy. It creates stress, causes tension and without
the proper equipment it can even get dangerous. Most drivers know that winter tires outperform performance tires in snow and ice.
What they may not know is why. Winter tire grooves are about 30% deeper, providing a firmer grip. The tire’s surface ejects snow

more effectively, plus the softer rubber on winter tires is more flexible in cold temperatures than their performance counterparts,
which tend to harden when temperatures reach –8ºC to –10ºC. Furthermore, with winter tires, experience a noticeable improvement
