FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS SOUTHERN AREA INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGES NETWORK

1. Does SAILN provide specialized workshops for individual schools or districts? Yes, we Information Packet
do offer specialized workshops for schools and districts. Please contact us with your specific
needs.

2. Can I only attend one day of the core training workshops? Yes, you may register for one
day of the workshop series (day 1-4 only). please refer to page 7 in regards to the cost.

3. Do you offer course credit? If yes, how many units and how much per unit? The course
credits are offered through SDSU’s College of Extended Studies (Refer to page 7).

4. Where are the sessions held? All sessions are held at SDSU, Storm Hall building, second
floor. Room numbers will be announced before each program/workshop.

5. How can I become a SAILN instructor/presenter? You need to first become a California
World Language Project Fellow by attending all the modules (120 hours of core training).
You will then need to be an intern for at least a year.

6. How can I become a CWLP Fellow? You will need to attend 120 hours of professional
development offered through core SAILN program.

7. Does this training help with teacher certification? Not directly, but the training prepares
teachers for such programs. It also provides resources and strategies that teachers will need
to demonstrate during their student teaching.
