Dear Class,

I wish I could put this note in a time capsule and save it for you when you are older and can better understand the significance of
this year. Nine months ago, you walked into our classroom and many of you were nervous, scared, and happy at the same time.
We worked on learning everyone’s name and quickly became a school family.

During our time together, you learned where you sat, where to put your folder, books, supplies and book bag. You caught on to
our morning routine of “beat the announcements” by getting all of your jobs done quickly. You learned how to do morning work,
how to wait your turn, how to be a friend while also becoming a mathematician, a reader, a scientist, and more.

You smiled, laughed, and sometimes cried. Not all of our days were easy, but most of our days were filled with learning,
excitement, happiness, and fun.

Later in the year, we all learned what distance learning was, how to do Zoom meetings, and learned new words like, quarantine,
coronavirus, and social distancing. Even though we are excited for summer, I wish that we still had a little more time together.
Before you move on to First Grade, please remember that I believe in you and know you are capable of great things.

I know that much of this year will fade into your memories with the passage of time. I hope that if we see each other again in

the future that we will smile at each other and remember that once upon a time, you were five or six, and once upon a time, I was

your teacher. Love,

Mrs. Mulac
