SUMMARY

The movie 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' tells the story of Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi, a devotee of Hindu
deity Hanuman (Banjrangbali), who embarks on a journey to take a young mute girl from
Pakistan who loses herself in India to get her back to her motherland and unite her with
her family. Bajrangi takes it all on him to take the child across the border despite all the
odds. The story further unfolds when Bajrangi reaches Pakistan crossing several roadblocks
and meets a kind-hearted journalist (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who helps them reach their
destination. This movie portrayed both mass media and social media. The most
outrageous portrayal of the media and social media occurred during the revealing of
Pawan (Banjrangi) assisting the girl in returning to Pakistan. For example, Nawazuddin (a
journalist) uses Youtube, a type of social media, to inform Pakistanis about Pawan's true
intentions to visit the place. He recorded Pawan's journey along the way then upload it on
his Youtube channel. Next, mass media can be seen in the movie whereby both printed and

The issue started when the news (mass media) started getting involved in the capture of
Bajrangi due to suspicions of being an Indian spy. When the news covered the arrest,

for a Pakistani television channel, Chand Nawab spies on the duo for more information
while his cameraman was arrested and manipulated to provide said information to the
police. Because of this, their journey in sending Munni back home was much more difficult
