including: balance (always have two points of contact which decreases chances of falling), pain relief (poles let you offload weight from
hips and knees), core strengthening, posture (strengthen your arms and back) and cardio fitness (energizing activity)! Have a try at this
walking club!
• Indoor Walking: In the Headingley Community Centre auditorium, walking shoes must be non-marking indoor only shoes. Walkers
or any walking aids must be clean. Urban Walking Poles are available for people walking indoors. You are encouraged to bring your
own if you have a set.
