Relatives’ Rendezvous

Many thanks again for supporting these quarterly get-togethers...we get some
fabulous feedback. This time the subjects covered were the electric trial that is
currently ongoing, and our new activity plans to be known as “What’s Going On”
We also discussed the trial starting at the beginning of April of the team ,both in
the care home and in the community, not wearing uniforms for a month. We
really do need you to use our suggestions box on this one, so please let us have
your comments and observations as to how well you think it is working.

NUTRITION & HYDRATION WEEK
We had a full schedule during Nutrition & Hydration Week.
On the Monday we delivered free teas to our meal clients, as well as sending out “HY5”
leaflets which contained information on identifying and preventing
dehydration.
Here’s Mark ready to go out with the leaflets, which were
provided by Lancashire Country Council.

On Tuesday we had a special tea of
sandwiches and lots of fruit, all washed
down with Bucks Fizz!The photos
show Derek and Olga about to
enjoy their glass of bubbly and
Milly busy helping cut up fruit in
the kitchen. John was outside

with James bringing in some
rhubarb.

Wednesday was Swallowing
Awareness Day and we’ve just
received some special food moulds
that were ordered to make pureed food look more appealing and

appetising.
We had a
‘Dip Day’ on
Thursday
when the
family
enjoyed

vegetables and toasted fingers with
some dips Sarah had made.
Friday was “Big Breakfast” day and the family
settled down to a wonderful cooked breakfast.
Next was Ice Cream Saturday when (among
others) Sandra and Margaret enjoyed delicious
ice cream sundaes, and Sunday was St Patrick’s
Daywith the sourdough bread and Irish stew,
reported on earlier.
