2 The School of Global Studies gives importance to issues related to globalization, innovation, and entrepreneurship. These are concepts that require a critical connection between theory and practice. Herein, the school builds upon the need to integrate actual events and examples into our students' understanding of global studies and social entrepreneurship. We welcome students with the recognition that each and everyone of you will enter the school with diverse interests, expertise, and their own unique story to share with other classmates. As we see the potential in our students, we try our best to equip students with 21st-century skills to succeed in a quickly changing world driven by innovation. With that said, the one quality that unites us all is the 'passion' to work towards positive change in our society, especially amidst this eminent setting of the aftermath of Covid-19 pandemic. It goes without saying that student-centered learning is a core value at school of global studies—both in the classrooms and throughout the field immersion activities. We encourage active engagement through teamwork projects and emphasize an open space for trials and errors, and learning-by-doing experience. Throughout the four years of study, students will also be advised and guided by a team of international, multidisciplinary professors with diverse global and local working experience. Asst. Prof. Prapaporn Tivayanon Mongkhonvanit, DPhil.Dean As for the field of study, the study of global studies opens up a new and exciting work opportunities for you across the private, public, and social sectors on all levels after your expected graduation in 2025. To prepare you for these opportunities, we endeavor to introduce the right mindset and skill set, and provide you with a confident and practical understanding of the interconnections between global realities and local issues. On an ending note, I feel it is important to mention that changes happen as a culmination of many factors. The inner drive for change, combined with right opportunities, attitude, and skill set, can propel transformation at many levels. Social changemakers understand this nature, and therefore make the effort to study the world's pressing issues, whilst exploring diverse possibilities, and crafting sustainable solutions for positive social impact. And for this reason, we commit to train and support our students to embrace challenges and make possibilities come true for themselves and others.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Sports Day 17 February 2020, the Students Council organized Sports Day. The event was filled with fun and engaging activities and games. This an excellent chance for our students, of all cohorts, to bond and deepen their teamwork skills and friendships. Sports Day is one of the year's most fun and exciting days. Back to School 'Back to School' is an annual student-led event where participants dress up in their high school uniforms, aiming to connect all our students as well as welcome our new cohort. This event was filled with fun games as well as a student concert. 12

Freshy Game In the first semester, there will be a freshy game week when freshers from all faculties in Thammasat University will have a special opportunity to work in teams and socialize with students from other faculties by playing sports, cheerleading, parading, and marching bands. This is a warm welcome for all freshers to feel enjoyable and relaxed after working hard to become a Thammasat student. Freshmen and Welcoming The annual warm welcome where our students welcome the new cohort to university life. This opportunity allows students to know each other through activities and having dinner together in order to strengthen their relationships. As a Thammsat student, the new cohort receives valuable guidance from senior students regarding university life. 13

Rambler Rambler, a startup led by our students from SGS (School of Global Studies, Thammasat University), has won the first runner-up in the national round of SCG Bangkok Business Challenge (BCC) 2021 at Sasin Business School. The team will continue to compete in the global round as Thailand’s representatives. BBC is one of the most prestigious startup competitions and Asia’s Longest-Running Global Student Startup Competition. The competition was open to all levels of university students, including undergraduates, graduates, and Ph.D. This year, more than 60 teams from all over Thailand joined the competition, and only five teams made their way to the global round. Rambler is a social enterprise that aims to connect organic farmers with consumers in the city. The team found the pain point of the consumers that healthy organic drinks still needed to be improved in the market, while farmers also wanted to find a channel to sell organic local vegetables and fruits. Therefore, Rambler developed “GreenSmooth,” an organic smoothie freshly blended and sold through an automatic vending machine. Rambler is committed to not only making people healthy by serving organic smoothies but also helping local farmers and improving the environment at the same time. Volunteer Club Volunteer Club organized a one-day volunteer activity at Bamboo School along the Thai-Myanmar border in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. The Bamboo School was an unofficial school that provided education to children in the community. Later on, it became a safe and lovely shelter for children who might be underprivileged but had the total capacity to love. We spent the whole day with them organizing the outdoor game, detergentmaking workshop, future-career test, and cooking dinner. Although it seemed like we went there to “give,” we later realized that we “gained” a lot from them. 14

Wai Kru Ceremony The annual Wai Kru Ceremony, a longstanding ritual in which Thammasat University students pay respect to their instructors to express their gratitude and formalize the student–faculty relationship, was recently held on October 8, 2020. Our students presented the SGS distinguished professors in attendance with a beautiful array of traditional Thai flowers. In addition, the students from SGS received awards for high academic achievement and also received an award for exemplary behavior and service for 2020. Awards The annual ceremony where we gathered in celebration of our students' success and hard work at the Student Awards Ceremony. Our students received awards for their academic performance as well as their dedication to extracurricular activities. We heard from our thirdyear students about their experience competing in the ASEAN Data Science Competition, as well as our alumni about their journey and advice from creating their new startup “Happy Grocers” . Christmas Day On this special occasion, the students have the amazing opportunity to finally gather again after the tiring and hardworking semester. There are various activities they shared together; having dinner, singing, gift exchanging, and watching movies. Moreover, this allows students to chat and celebrate together, bringing joy and tightening their relationships. 15

REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT Happy Grocers On 19 July 2020, Suthasiny Sudprasert (Moh) and Theeranat Sirikulpiyarat (Pearl) beat hundreds of teams to win first prize and 50,000 baht in “Start-Up Thailand League 2020” in the sector of AgriTech/Food Start Up in July 2020, held by National Innovation Agency (NIA). “Happy Grocers” is a social enterprise that aims to create a sustainable food system by connecting small-scale Organic/GAP farmers to the market and enabling consumers to eat sustainably. ASEAN Data Science Explorers On 18 September 18, 2019, Ms. Noppawan Rakthinkumnerd and Ms. Bao Tran Ngo Le won first place in ASEAN Data Science Explorers Thailand (ASEANDSE) competition at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC). Their project was on 'Gender Gaps in the World of Work' focused on promoting gender equality. Ananda Mahidol Scholarship From GSSE to Harvard University, Chalisa Kaewla (Jee, cohort 2) has shown her determination to change the Thai education system by pursuing her dream school. She is now a soon-to-be student in the Harvard Graduate School of Education 2021 class. Receiving the government's full scholarship, Chalisa promises to return to Thailand to create an innovation that will elevate education for all. 30 Under 30 - Asia - Social Impact (2022) Forbes List Moh Suthasiny Sudprasert, SGS alumni, founded Happy Grocer during the height of Covid in Thailand to disrupt the food supply chain by connecting consumers directly with farmers. It is focused on providing sustainably grown, eco-friendly products that allow farmers to earn a fair price. Happy Grocer's business model includes Happy Grocer vans that bring consumers mostly organic fruits and vegetables. Happy Grocer works with more than 100 farmers in Thailand and, during its first year, has delivered over 10,000 orders, mostly in Bangkok. It also works with restaurants. 30 FORBES " MOH SUTHASINY, SGS ALUMNI " ON 16
