EXPLAIN HOW WE BECOME STRONGER WHEN WE ARE FACED WITH
DIFFICULT TIMES IN LIFE

Strong is known as a power that we need it in our life. There have two meanings of
strong, which is the situation when someone can move heavy stuff and put it somewhere, and
the other one is when someone can manage bad situations well by themselves maturely.
Everyone has to face a tough time in their life because we do not grow when things are easy,
we grow when we face challenges. Nowadays, Malaysian need to face some difficulties times
especially during this pandemic era COVID-19. This
can be seen when we must stay and do our routine
activities at home as the government has limited our
outdoor activities to stop the spread of the virus and
make sure they can lower the number of cluster
cases everyday. Due to this pandemic, the
organization of AirAsia had to stop the contract
workers and unfortunately, our father’s name is in the list of terminations. Ever since then,
our father lost his job as a cabin crew member of AirAsia and our whole family was sad when
we heard about this bad news. We sympatize the situation that befell to our father. We as
his family are united to face these problems together which are financial management and
debt problems. So, through this incident, it taught us to be to be more independent in order
to solve problems, encouraged us to strengthen our family bonding and improved ourselves
to be a better person in handling any problems that come.

This incident taught us to be more independent in solving any problem that had
happened in our family. This can be seen when we decide to start our small online business
which is joining and being a part-time dropship
for Mary Kay organization. By joining this, we can
help our father to have some money as his side
income because he could not do a lot of things
due to age factor. Not only that, we also take free
coaching classes that are held by successful
entrepreneurs to become consistent in business.
As a younger sister in the family, make savings
is an easy way to sustain the family’s life by giving money to the parents as a sign of
appreciation and reciprocation. Our brother also selling their own assets such as clothes to
the nearby

the bundle shop every weekend that receives
old stuff. Finally, we are able to survive our
finances to get back to normal like before by
being independent without gaining sympathy or
asking for help from others.

This incident also made our family bonding become closer. It is because when our
family knew father losing his job, we immediately met each other in our parents’ home to
discuss and share our opinions to find the best solutions. Furthermore, our eldest siblings who
have a permanent job become more responsible as they will support our younger siblings’
expenses, especially in their studies. However, due to this pandemic, we are not allowed to
gather in one place, so we can help our father as much as we can by giving money to other

siblings through online banking. By doing this, we
surely can support our family to become stronger
despite the long distance that separates us and we
do not feel worried too much about them. In order
to keep our father from worrying about the incident
that happened, we as his children attempt to find
some time to call him frequently, even if we are
overloaded with work. For example, we inquire as to whether he is in a healthy condition or
whether he has taken his meal. As a result, our family bond will become closer, and we will
maintain contact despite not being together.

Being brave in solving problems definitely can improve ourselves, to be a better person
to handle any problem in our life. Due to job loss, we as the children need to understand our
father’s condition to ease his burden. For example, we should list down all the things we need
first before going to the supermarket, so that we can estimate our budget. We also remind
each other that if something that can be reused again, just use them rather than buying a new
one. It is because our father is forced to bring out his savings to pay bills and buying
necessities for our family. In a short word, we must be
thrifty spenders in every situation, especially in terms of
shopping. Not just that, being a grateful with everything
that had been given by our parents is a way to show that
we are also practicing and preparing ourselves for the
hardships in the future. For example, we are able to

compare and contrast which one is more important to buy as needs and which one is a desire.
To avoid our family finances getting worse, we do not bother our father to fulfill our desires,
but we improve ourselves by making his life easier without thinking about us.

As conclusion, we have gone through in our life
together after facing tough times. We have to be physically
physically and mentally strong enough to overcome any
difficulties that we face during this pandemic era Covid 19
such as losing a job. We should take positive steps or
actions toward solving the problem of joblessness among
family members. After all these hard times that we have been through in life, everyone might
assume that they can handle difficult times on their own. We should accept that the challenges
that we face are having a good impact on our lives. Good support and unity of every member
of the family with good planning in financial management and taking opportunities ahead by
exploring new jobs will be the best main effective solutions to overcome jobless situation in
the family during this pandemic crisis.
