All about
Diwali
(during a pandemic)
Tot Labs by Mumma Diaries
It's the time of the year,
to spread a lot of happy cheer!
It's the time for all things bright,
It's the time to welcome the
"Festival of Light!"
Diwali
is celebrated
over a period of
5 days,
Different people
across the world
celebrate it in
different ways!
This year's Diwali may look
different than the previous
one,
But that should not stop us
from having a lot of fun!
Let's not forget the spirit of Diwali,
Let's not forget to light diyas, dress up &
eat our favorite chakli!
So let's talk about a
few things we can do
before the festival
starts,
These simple rituals will
fill lots of joy in our
hearts!
Pre-Diwali is a perfect time to deep-clean
all our rooms,
So get all your tools out - the dusting cloths,
mops & brooms!
"Cleanliness is next to godliness" is
so true,
A cleaner, tidier home makes for a
happy-you!
Another Pre-Diwali ritual is to donate
clothes, books & toys we no longer use,
So create your own donation box - make
no excuse!
This Diwali we have to be extra safe & smart,
Even if that means not going out to the
market or a shopping mart.
But keeping the
spirit of Diwali
high,
Let's talk about
what all fun
things we can do
from day one to
five!
The first day of Diwali is a perfect
day to wake up early from our bed,
And take a squeaky clean bath from
toe to our head!
Dhanteras marks
the first day of the
celebration,
This is a day to
pray for good
health, wealth
& a lot of
inspiration!
Naraka Chaturdashi or Choti Diwali is
the name for day-two,
It's a day to take an oil-bath and wear
something new!
During the evening,
we light lanterns
and also earthen
lamps,
so here's a fun task
for all you little
champs!
Paint the earthen diyas to make them
look all new,
Which paints will you use - red, yellow or
blue?
Lakshmi puja is
performed on the
main day of Diwali
which is day three,
The goddess showers
her blessings on us
making us healthy,
wealthy & glee!
Lighting diyas signify goodness &
sparkle,
Dispelling the darkness into love, light
& miracle!
Govardhan Puja or Padva marks the
fourth day of the celebration,
people across the globe celebrate it
according to their own tradition.
Govardhan Puja is
celebrated to mark the
day when Lord Krishna
defeated Lord Indra.
Indra's anger had caused
incessant rains and made
people run helter skelter,
so Lord Krishna lifted up
the Govardhan hill lending
them shelter.
Day-5 is Bhai Dooj
which signifies the
loving bond between
siblings,
This is a day to pray
for each other's
well-being & happy
beginnings!
Let this Diwali be a good one
in spite of everything that the
world is facing,
Let's enjoy the festival even
while social distancing!
HAPPY
DIWALI

HAPPY DIWALI!
