content of our programming, bringing the art closer to the audience. This
exchange and interaction promotes a more encompassing experience
and, we hope, a better appreciation for the artistic process. Events are
added throughout the season. Please consult our website for up-to-date
schedules and information.

LUCKMAN GALLERY

The Luckman Fine Arts Complex at Cal State LA’s Luckman Gallery
is currently being refreshed and will reopen in early 2020 with an
exhibition of work by acclaimed artist Tu-2, followed by an exhibition of
works by renowned artist Victor Estrada.

The Luckman Gallery has become one of the most exciting and
respected galleries in Los Angeles. The Luckman Gallery is also home to
an impressive permanent collection that contains more than 500 works,
including paintings, videos, prints, sculptures, and more than 100 Andy
Warhol Polaroids.

We are proud to provide patrons access to exhibitions that represent a
diverse selection of emerging and established contemporary artists.

TU-2

Luckman Gallery is pleased to present Taiwanese artist Tu-2. This
exhibition will include a small survey of Tu-2’s early Mao-ology work,
selections from his 108 series of blue and silver portraits made through
“meditative mark making” using only one silver pencil on blue paper,
and selections of his new work. A large section of the gallery will be
transformed into a meditation refuge where viewers and students alike
will be invited to stay and practice mindfulness as well as learn about
meditation practices.

VICTOR ESTRADA

Using sculpture and painting, this exhibition centers around how
Victor Estrada approached the impossible challenge to materialize the
emotional exhalation of his own anxieties. This comprehensive survey
situates past projects alongside new work. Much of Estrada’s work takes
on the ungovernable topography of Los Angeles and its accelerated
change in culture leading to an ever-shifting psychological landscape.
