Welcome note It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Putrajaya, Malaysia to our first physical MThoR Thoracic Imaging Workshop 2023. We are delighted to extend our warm welcome to all eminent speakers and enthusiatic delegates either from local or overseas who have journeyed here to learn and expand their knowledge. This momentous occasion marks the first physical international workshop organized by Malaysia Thoracic Radiology Special Interest Group (MThoR), is truely a remarkable milestone. It presents an excellent opportunity for learning and discussing shared interest and strenghten our knowledge in Thoracic Radiology. The workshop will take place in Putrajaya, the administrative city of Malaysia, with a lot of iconic buildings and interesting places to explore. The programme encompass topics and interesting cases in thoracic imaging, featuring our honorary guest speaker Professor Jeffery Kanne from University of Wisconsin, USA. We hope that you will appreciate the opportunity for informal discussion outside the lecture session and meet colleagues from different backgrounds, exchange ideas and learn from each other. Guest Speaker University of Wisconsin, USA Dr. Jeffrey P. Kanne is a professor of Radiology, Chief of Thoracic Imaging, and Vice Chair of Quality. He specializes in thoracic radiology with special expertise in interstitial and diffuse lung diseases and high-resolution CT of the chest. Additionally, Dr. Kanne is a NIOSH certified Breader with expertise in occupational lung diseases. Other professional interests include postgraduate and continuing medical education, utilization management, lowdose CT techniques, and quality improvement in radiology. Dr. Kanne is Specialty Chair of the American College of Radiology’s (ACR) Expert Panel on Thoracic Imaging and chairs the Society of Thoracic Radiology’s Education Committee. In addition, he was selected by the ACR as the first ABIM Choosing Wisely Champion. Dr. Kanne has authored or co-authored over 100 articles in radiology in addition to multiple chapters and textbooks on thoracic imaging.
