Adam Twidell - This is your PrivateFly life

Adam's leaving messages and photobook

ADAM TWIDELL

THIS IS YOUR
PRIVATEFLY

LIFE

Here’s how PrivateFly started...

Then Carol joined PrivateFly and won “Employee of the Week” (most weeks).
PrivateFly moved to St Peter’s Street and really started to take-off...

Dear Adam,

It’s the end of an era.... and hopefully the beginning of a new one for
you!

Joining PrivateFly was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I look back on those early years (when I was employee number 3!) with
great affection. It’s been quite a journey from Victoria Square to Censo House to
Grosvenor Road and then onto Hatfield Road.

We all learnt a lot and it is fabulous to see the business it has grown into and the PF
Family that you have created. Wishing you all the very best with your next adventure.

Vicky x

Dear Adam

What an adventure it has been. It’s been a fantastic 12 years, and
such a pleasure for me to support you as you grew PrivateFly,
through strong leadership and a winning mix of boldness, creativity
and military discipline! ‘Always reach higher’ just about sums you up
- you have been a true industry pioneer and such an inspiration to so
many people.

It has always been about the people for you, and you and Carol should be so proud
of the culture you created at PrivateFly - always letting others shine, with such
generosity and warmth. You have given the team a fantastic springboard from which
to take their next steps, and I know how much you will enjoy watching them fly.

Here’s to you and clear skies ahead!
Viv

I always remember how Adam would introduce
himself as ex RAF, then admit to not flying to fighters
but the Hercules! :-)

The other thing that always made me smile was
how he would jump into crisis mode to solve any
areas that were not going to plan! The Air force
training certainly came through strongly. Not sure if that has
mellowed over time?

The pilots uniform, clearly loved leading from the front and the head
of PF had to be a private Jet pilot, and it always came out for the
photoshoots! He certain walked the talk!

Adam and Carol were a formidable team, complemented each other
so well, played to their own strengths, and worked so hard to disrupt
an extremely established market and totally achieved it!

I wish both Adam and Carol well, all the best and keep in touch!

Take care

John

Adam, wishing you the best of luck in your next chapter.

It was an absolute pleasure to be one of the first team
members at PF and my fondest memory has always
been the madness of the Icelandic Ashcloud in 2010.
Getting passengers from London to Spain with a non-
stop and pretty insane chauffeur just to make the last
empty-leg out of Europe to the US.

Congratulations on building such a successful business and most
importantly, standing by your vision for all these years! Shaunak

Hey Captain, you have captained PrivateFly to these heights. Continue your
magic in your new role! Ajith

Hi Adam,
You have always been a shooting-star to the entire ‘Privatefly’ family and
thanks v much for all your unfathomable support & guidance. I am sure you
will steer your way to heights.... in which-ever ecosystem you choose to move
on.
Wishing you all the very best and please convey my regards to Carol. Thanks
again
Bindu

All the best for your new challenge, Adam! PrivateFly will miss a great leader!! -
Mohammed

Ad, Adam, Twids - many names for a singular character.

It was such a pleasure to be part of the PrivateFly family in the early days. So much fun was had in our little office
above the estate agents on St Peters St - the highs, the lows, the BBQs and the constant tea making.

Most importantly was the team, starting with Carol, Viv, Vicky, Amy, Alex and me (not forgetting Lindsay, Justin
and the brief appearance from Shaunak!) and growing into a team of people who now lead the industry. I know that
everyone who has every worked at PF has fond memories of their time there and their time working at you, how sorely missed
your positivity, humour and “unique” HR style will be (is it still a bottle of Jura for every bday?).

And as to your future in electric aviation, I always knew you would need to move on to the most current thing, especially when it
comes to AC! I really hope you charge into your new career path and the change will not come as too much of a shock. Needless to
say, alternating in life is always very important, I am sure it will give you a huge buzz. But ultimately life has a way of repeating itself
and who knows you may find yourself coming round in a circuit.

All the best Ad, good luck and Godspeed!

I have fond memories of Adam and working at PrivateFly.

He was hands down the best boss I ever had. So enthusiastic and passionate about
aviation and the company that it rubbed off on you immediately.

Not only that, but he genuinely cared about the people he employed and took a
strong interest in them and their growth as individuals, that left a lasting effect on me.

I remember one evening dressing up as flight and cabin crew to host an event in London, it was so
fun and a great business idea!

I also really miss the BBQs on the balcony at what was the old PF HQ!

Good luck for the future Adam, and thank you for believing in me and trusting me at the beginning
of what was to become a big, successful company that everyone in the industry knows.

Amy Thomas (Irwin)

Wow - what an adventure it’s been and what an incredible journey...

From St Peter’s Street (with the spider-filled basement), to Kerala, Fort Lauderdale
and Boston - there’s never a dull moment at PrivateFly!

Adam - you’ve built an amazing team, inspired so many of us along the PrivateFly
runway and given us so many great opportunities. Best of all it’s been brilliant fun.

I can’t wait to see the private aviation industry reach new green heights with you at the
helm!

I leave you with one final...what are you doing this weekend?

Alex

Dear Adam,
Thank you for the amazing opportunity to work at PrivateFly. You taught me
many invaluable lessons that I will remember forever. I always have a smile
when I think of my days at PrivateFly. I wish you all the best.
Maya

Three memories of Adam...
1. BBQ’s on the balcony, especially the time we had one in winter and unfortunately the smoke from the BBQ
went directly into the nearby office window, Adam responded by shouting back sorry I can’t hear you (quietly)
to the very angry man.
2. Cheeky. Adam always had a cheeky smile when he would tell the tale of his mother-in-laws face when he
sold the family home to start the business.
3. Generous. During my time at PrivateFly I always found Adam was extremely generous with his time, he always
made me feel welcomed and part of the team. Really wish you all the best of luck in your new venture Adam, I’m
sure you’ll make a great success with the Directional Aviation Group.
Craig

It’s been a long time since I came to the old office above the estate agents for an
interview.
I remember being very impressed how, even though it was only a small team,
everyone was an expert in their field.
There are two stories which I will always associate with you, and which I have
retold several times myself.
The first was the microlight crash due to the yards/feet runway length mix-up.
The other was the taking of the mobile phone user’s keys out of their car whilst he was
queuing in traffic, and then the police phoning you in the office (for, as it turned out, another reason)
a few minutes later.
If you ever write a book, they should both definitely be in it.
Good luck in your new role, Adam. I hope that our paths will cross again at some point!

All the best for the future.
Richard.

As your PF days are coming to an end, i hope you can look back and say you had a
good flight! Best wishes for the future.
Geoff O

PrivateFly formed the foundation of my aviation career and life after graduation.
The responsibility and 360 perspective of the business set the way forward to my
first graduate role at Qatar Airways and beyond to launch new routes for British
Airways.

My 2nd placement during Summer 2015 gave me a lot of hope for the future
following a personally challenging time. I will always be grateful for my time at
PrivateFly.

Best wishes, Alex

The best and most memorable quote that I keep with me to this day is “A day away from aviation is a
day wasted”

Never have I had a boss vacuuming an aircraft cabin!

Congratulations Adam for the amazing PrivateFly journey - that I was lucky enough
to join for some years. What an amazing achievement and execution of an
entrepreneurial vision - textbook stuff! All the best for your next adventure.

Mehdi

Having first joined Privatefly back in 2011 as a summer apprentice, I was instantly
made to feel part of the PF team. The first task I was given by Adam was the critical
job of re-arranging the store cupboard (a job which I took very seriously if I
remember right!).
After this I was let loose on the customers, sold my first flight, and from there I
never looked back! I’d like to thank Adam for giving me the opportunity to join
the awesome PF family all those years ago, all the advice he gave me on my flying

career and for always allowing me the time off to attend my interviews with the
airlines. I honestly don’t think I’d be where I am today in my career without the support I had from Adam all the way
through.
I wish Adam all the best in his new role and look forward to a PF reunion beer at some point in the future!

Where to begin.. so many incredible memories and a long journey
that we’ve been on together, throughout you’ve continually
inspired and motivated me to be the best I can (professionally
and personally).
Thank you for your support, always believing in me and giving
me and the whole PrivateFly team such incredible opportunities
and responsibilities.

Together, you and Carol have achieved something that not many can; you’ve built
an innovating, industry-pioneering company and taken big risks along the way.

Here are some fond memories we have shared, which will always stick with me:
Your unforgettable interview techniques; you offered me an ice cream which I was
obliged to eat, followed by a sociable but boozy night at the Boot to be surprised
with a 7am start
Responsibility from day one; you named me CEO of the storecupboard but I was
quickly replaced, things always move fast at PF..

Florida trips; including our first stint in Miami when I was luckily enough to be your
PA for the week :)
Our sailing trip to Italy; sun, sea and great pasta - althought I am not sure we’re
welcomed back to Capri after we forgot that bar tab!
Last but not least, your infamous Irish exits and unrivaled ability to vanish (we now
refer to them as ‘Adam exits’)
Your unwavering energy, passion and good-humour will be missed, but I am
excited to witness your entrepreneurial drive and creativity in your new role.

All the best,

Matt

Adam,
It has been a fantastic adventure to work for
PrivateFly and you have been an inspiration
in many things. I’ll never forget the time spent
together on our California road trip, the BBQs
and great laughs.

I am sure you will continue to
be an innovator, motivate and
guide more people in this new
adventure!

Bon vent!
Arthur

Adam,

I will never forget that you called me
literally 10 mins after sending you an
open solicitation via email.

The impact on my life and career
was nothing less than life changing. You
showed me how much impact a small company can have
on an industry and for its employees and you inspired me
to go for my own entrepreneurial journey.

The energy of all the partners at McKinsey combined
were nothing compared to your passion for aviation and
energy to lead a team.

Leaving PrivateFly must be a massive milestone in your
life, and I cannot imagine how it is even possible to have
PrivateFly without Adam.

Hugo

Good luck on your future endeavors, the
sky is the limit of opportunity!
Sam Roxon

I loved working at PrivateFly and for Adam.
Such an impressive boss, always looking for new ideas on how to improve
and grow the business and keen to take everyone along for the ride.

Very kindly offered an internship for my niece a few years ago - she’s now
a lawyer in Edinburgh and I know working at PF for a month gave her a
great insight into office work and how law could be applied and be useful to
business.

Massive good luck Adam as you move on.

Shona

There isn’t a day without aviation when Adam
is around, even when the airport is 6 km away
and a 600-meter climb on a road bike.

Good luck in your new exciting adventures,
Adam. Thank you for your amazing work and
leadership at PrivateFly. Please make aviation green
forever ! Cha

Adam,

Thanks for being an inspirational leader, it’s been a real
pleasure being part of PrivateFly’s growth story..

There once was a pilot called Adam
After a few Juras he became ‘a bit of a madam’
He left the sky to wear a shirt and a tie, and set up a business we call
PrivateFly!

The company did well and grew quite a lot....
‘’Not Bad’’ said the sceptics, he’s done all right for a Scot!
Adam took the reins, (we all knew Carol was the brains) and they set about trying
to broker a few planes.

BBQs, pancake races, and Friday beers
Now the time has come for us to say cheers!
Adam has a new job.... ‘Future Flight Technologies’’ he said out loud
‘’Oh, thank goodness” said the team, “at least now his dad can be proud’’.

Make sure you regularly call in the office for a cup of tea ‘milky like the
clouds’. Best of luck with your new adventure.

Hannah

P.S my best memory is when Katy left the office to do her driving test, and
you leaped out in front of the car with the whole office watching!!!

Adam - good luck with everything!
I’m so excited for your next adventure & to see what you’ll
do!
I’ll always remember teaching you the rules of baseball in a
small Irish pub in NYC while the Cubs won their first World
Series! Thank goodness you dragged me out for that beer.
Best of luck!
Nicole

Hi Adam,

Congratulations on an amazing 15 year run at PrivateFly
and your exciting new role at Directional Aviation.

I still remember meeting you in that dingy hotel lobby in
Orlando. While my time at PrivateFly was relatively short, it
has had an outsized impact on my personal development. You
trusted me and gave me opportunities that most 22 year-olds could only
dream of.

You taught me important lessons on professionalism (sending me home
to shave and change clothes) and how to be a great boss, mentor and
entrepreneur.

You’re at the cutting-edge as always and I look forward to hearing of your
successes in shepherding electric aviation forward.
Best wishes,
Marion.

Adam,

I will always hold you and PF dear
to my heart. As it was an emotional
rollercoaster leaving PrivateFly, I am so
happy that I was part of the growth in the
US and continuing the great culture of the
company you and Carol started over 12 years
ago.

You, Carol, and the whole PF family were amazing in
welcoming me to the family and I will never forget our time
together.

I learned a lot from you and will always cherish the working
relationship as well as our personal friendship.

I wish you well in your next chapter of Private Aviation and
know, you will do amazing things, as always.

Geoff V

Thank you Adam for giving me the opportunity to join this great
family. Even when I thought sales was not going to be for me.

I still remember when I did my presentation to get hired and I used
Fly Victor’s images and referred to Victor as a person ha ha ha.
Whooopsss.

Many great memories with you and Carol and I am extremely thankful
for mentoring me and pushing me to exploit my potential. I hope I didn’t disappoint
and I am looking forward to working with you soon.

Wishing you all the best and next time you come to FLL, the beer is on me. Cheers!!
H

PS A couple of Adam memories:
“I just landed, I’ll see you all at the Irish pub”
“Herminio is just too hard for customers, I’m going to call you H from now on” (This
one is the best and the official birth of “H”).

Adam,

thank you for everything you (and Carol) have done
for me over the years, it is absolutely true that I
would not be where I am today without your trust
and support! It has been a fantastic adventure and I
am proud to have worked with you and PrivateFly.

I am very excited to see where this new chapter will take you and am
sure our paths will cross once again.

Wishing you, Carol, Angus, and Grace all the best, and look forward to
seeing you in sunny Florida soon.

Philip and Meagan.

Wishing you all the best for
your next adventure Adam.

I will always appreciate you
taking a chance on this crazy
Saffa and everything you’ve
done for me.

See you for a beer at the Rose and Crown
soon!

I am eternally grateful that Adam gave me my chance 6 years ago.
I dream of working with him again one day and that he is welcome here on the Cote d’Azur where Arthur, Julien V
and I hope to see him. He calls me whenever he has a job for me in France.
He was, is and will always be an inspiring leader for me. Pierre

Hi Adam,

I never thought I’d see the day without you at the helm of PrivateFly!
But the fact that it will continue to succeed without you shows that you
managed it well.

The one thing I will remember from you is not the leadership or
management prowess, but your generosity. You gave me a chance during what were pretty
dark times for me, not once but twice! I also remember vividly the way you welcomed my
parents at a PF BBQ when they visited us in St Albans, going above and beyond to make
them feel at home, when you really did not have to. And for all of that, I will be eternally
grateful to you.

Godspeed in your new adventure, I can’t wait to see how you change aviation again!

B.

Adam, first I’d like to wish you all the best and at least as much success as you’ve had
at PrivateFly for your future endeavours! In 4 years at PrivateFly, I’ve seen the company
grow massively, change offices, develop new product and “Reach Higher”. It’s easy to lose
the culture when so many things happen but you’ve managed to keep the atmosphere
as friendly and welcoming as it was when I first joined, it’s one of the greatest strengths of
this company and a testament to how much of a great leader you’ve been.

I believe It’s also the best occasion I’ll have to thank you (and Carol) for giving young passionate people a
chance, I’ve seen you do this with so many new joiners over the time including myself. When everybody was
rejecting internships, you gave me an opportunity and then trusted me with more responsibility over the
years. I’m convinced that it made me a better person and professional and I’ll always be thankful for that! So
thank you again for everything you’ve done and I really wish that you’ll find joy and excitement in everything
the future holds for you.

Alexandre

Hi Adam,
Thank you for everything you have done and
given to all of us at PrivateFly. You made it such a
fantastic, fun, and energetic place to work.

I’ll never forget when I first started how you used to
be in shortly after me on an early shift at 6am having
jogged in from home, in November...with Tex (poor Tex).
That dedication continued by you being available for out of hours
ApprovalMax’s, and showing your face in the office on weekend
shifts for a chat, and to share some jokes (lucky Sarah wasn’t
around then).

You will be missed by everyone from a day-to-day aspect, but we
all can’t wait to see you soon for a drink and catch up.

Wishing you all the best in your new role!
GL.

Dear Adam,

Congratulations on your new role!

I would like to thank PrivateFly & you individually,
for everything you have done for me over the past 3
years from starting as an admin apprentice in 2018 after
loosing my job at Monarch to a becoming Senior Client Services
Executive within an amazing Team. I have learnt way more than I could
have imagined, and have grown both my confidence and professional
ability - I am truly thankful for that.

And of course, encouraging me to finally get my driving license - I am
extremely grateful. I don’t think I would have done it so soon if it wasn’t
for your push! You have been an amazing role model and the Team
couldn’t have asked for anyone better to work with.

You and Carol should be so proud of everything you have achieved with
PrivateFly!

I wish you all the best & happiness in your new role!

My best wishes

The phrases that remind us of Adam ....

- The classic “What’s the good news?” when coming to visit the Flight Team at the
office
- “A day away from aviation it’s a day lost”
- Words such as: Scotland, RAF, beer friday, BBQ, Jaguar

... and also, many remarkable moments, such as:
- Every morning that Adam arrived at the office dressed up with his cycling/running
outfits and had a great deal of energy!
- All the pizza lunches at the office / ice creams / beers & BBQ breakfast post parties that Adam invited us to.
- Adam coming with the bucket of beer on beer Friday

I’m getting very nostalgic by now!!

Lastly, a little message for Adam from me:

Adam, I wish you the very best on this new adventure, I’m sure you will keep bringing success and good vibes
wherever you go!
Thanks for all the opportunities, events and fun moments we shared and also a special thanks to you & Carol for
the warmest welcome when I joined PrivateFly - it really felt like a family since day 1! I hope we will meet again in
the future and remember with a smile the good times at PF!!

All the best, Clara

Although I have only been in the organisation for just over 18 months it’s fair to say that we have worked on a lot
together. From AOP’s to Jet Card pricing to weekly reporting to DOMO and Bitcoin to mention a few.

We definitely had our differences on occasions but it’s fair to say that we worked well together at getting the right
outcome for the business. I admire your entrepreneurial spirit and the attitude to never take your foot off the
accelerator to keep growing the business.

The foundations you and Carol built is fantastic and I really do take my hat off to the both of you.

I really hope you continue to succeed within your new role and I’m sure we will work together again on many new projects,
unfortunately for you finance is always pulled in when there’s some numbers to play around with.

Definitely looking forward to sitting down and having a beer soon to celebrate your success.

All the best, Govind

Adam, your passion for aviation is limitless and the
enthusiasm you have for the industry is inspirational and all
this rolled into PrivateFly.

You have created a fantastic culture and company to work
for. You will be missed, it has been a pleasure and I wish you
every success in the new role.

Looking forward to catching up soon and hearing all about the future of
aviation.

Freddie

Your energy and enthusiasm will be greatly missed, I still recall the words you said to me on

Adam, thank you for inspiring me to always aim high.
I wish you the best of luck for your new adventure. -
Luciano

Dear Adam,

Sadly I have only worked with you for 1 year, but what a year it has been!

I loved our first chat in St Pancras station where things clicked immediately over freshly squeezed orange juice. I
remember we spoke a lot about twins and scouts and very little about aircraft.

That changed when you let me join the team and taught me all I needed to know for my mission at PF. Thanks for being
such a great mentor.

What a fantastic company you created, what a unique atmosphere, both super effective and human. I have enjoyed every minute of
my time working with you (even though most of it was over zoom and during one of the worst worldwide pandemics).

I also did like our walks, and you bet I can outwalk you in the Swiss alps. I certainly do hope that you will become a pioneer of electric
aviation, and I expect to see you on the pristine Swiss slopes in a few months Adam.

Thanks for everything, stay who you are, and again, so well done on creating PF from nothing to become what is has become. Je te tire
mon chapeau.

Annelies

Dear Adam,

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work
under your leadership and for the personal interest
you took in us all.
You are a fantastic example of how to lead and
succeed and I look forward to watching your latest
projects develop.

Wishing you every success imaginable!

Best of luck for the future,

Marle

Good luck with your new role Adam!
Although we didn’t get to meet in person or work together for a very long time, I am very thankful for
the chance you gave me to join the team at the beginning of the year (and as well for popping in my job
interview, making me feel welcome on Zoom meetings or recording last-minute media interviews!).
Wishing you all the best,
Aline

One of the most inspiring leaders I had the chance to be exposed to. Sadly for a too short of
a time. I can not wait to see what you will be doing next and hope we’ll get a chance to work
closely together in the future.
