The Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and
Technology (OCAST) is the state’s agency for technology-based
economic development. We are a results-driven, high-performing or-
ganization that increases research activity and public/private collabo-
rations leading to innovation in the core tech sectors most important
to Oklahoma’s economy, including Aerospace, Defense, Autonomous,
Energy Diversification and Bioscience/Biotechnology. This results in
new businesses, job growth, higher wages and an improved quality of
life for the citizens of our state and nation.

Our Vision

OCAST facilitates collaboration between state government, universities,
start-up companies and large-scale firms to develop an environment that
supports technology-based economic development. This creates continued
growth of advanced technology companies, increasing Oklahoma’s global

Five strategic partners work together to develop, support, and promote
Oklahoma’s technology-based economy. The partners include the OCAST,
the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance (OMA), Innovation to Enterprise (i2E),
OK Catalyst at OU Tom Love Innovation Hub and the OSU New Product
Development Center (NPDC).





OCAST partners with the non-profit i2E Inc. (innovation to Enterprise) to
support its mission of working directly with entrepreneurs, researchers and
companies to help them commercialize their technologies, launch and grow
new businesses and access needed capital.

i2E has provided business expertise and funding to more than 730 of
Oklahoma’s emerging small businesses, with nearly $84 million of invest-
ment capital under management.

velopment Center (NPDC) OCAST offers the Inventor’s Assistance Service
(IAS) which provides guidance and resources to Oklahoma’s inventors. IAS
provides services in the area of preliminary patent searches, market analy-
ses, manufacturing referrals, engineering analyses, prototyping and draw-
ing/model design.



Technical assistance is offered through the OK Catalyst Programs to
improve the quality of proposals. The program offers guidance in accessing
additional OCAST support and other resources appropriate to their respec-
tive stage of development. OK Catalyst is located at the University of Okla-
homa Tom Love Innovation Hub.

Intern Partnership

OCAST’s Intern Partnership program helps retain Oklahoma’s best and
brightest students by matching undergraduate and graduate students with
a high-tech Oklahoma company to undertake and complete an innovative
project which benefits the student and company. OCAST interns, in many
instances, are hired by the partnering companies which are always the best
Oklahoma has to offer in high-tech industry.
