Chargeable Fees

Investigatory Fee may be charged in the following circumstances;

✓ Where this is a mystery or none apparent source of leaking in a plumbing system
that requires lengthy physical investigation. Or where removal of floorboards,
bath panels, or pipe trunking Is required.

✓ Fault within central heating systems that need detailed investigation and which
will require time and expertise to locate.

✓ Where there are suspected problems with the fabric of the building such as
slipped tiles which could be mistaken for a plumbing problem, and that requite
thorough investigation.

✓ Where hidden inspection chamber is discovered, that required exposing in order
to facilitate cleaning, inspection or repairs to the drainage system.

✓ Investigative charge will be applied where there is a private sewage system
within the boundaries of the property that require lengthy investigatory work.

1. Place protective cloth in area where work is to be performed.
2. Survey drainage system to ensure proper access to clear obstruction.
3. Use correct equipment to facilitate complete pipe or drain clearance.
4. Flush pipe or drain to prove function.
5. Prove plumbing fixture by filling with water and allowing to drain.

In order to price any drainage repairs or new installations, please make site notes on
the following criteria, including sketch and depths (where possible).

Then refer to local office

Price will be dependent on:
1. Surface finish e.g. tarmac, concrete etc.
It is likely road saws, compressors and breakers will be required.
Also re-instatement costs must be considered.
2. Underground obstructions e.g. services etc.
Cable avoidance tools and investigation may be necessary.
3. Hard digging conditions e.g. subterranean rock layers.
It is likely compressors and breakers will be required.
Also, over-break will occur which increases backfill and removal costs
4. Ground conditions e.g. running sand, ground water levels etc.
Consider costs for earthwork support and/or pumping costs.
5. Reinstatement e.g. lawns, paving slabs, brick, paviours etc.

Drain Surveys and testing

Drain survey using CCTV equipment
1. High pressure water jet drain as required ( this extra service is
advisable to enhance picture quality )
2. Carry out CCTV drain survey in accordance with both street work and
confined spaces regulations.
3. On completion of work, dependant on the type of survey we will
either
a) Produce a DVD and written report, or download to either Youtube
or Dropbox.
b) Produce a written report, or
c) Show the client the condition of the drain during the survey.
4. Clean area and leave tidy.

Air and water testing of drains

1. Carry out air or water test in accordance with BS 1610
2. Work to be carried out in accordance with both streetworks and

confined space regulations.
3. On completion of work, we will provide written test confirmation.
