A Message from the Music Director
The mission of the Lone Star College-University Park
Music Department is to provide students with all of the
opportunities of a university program at a fraction of
the price. Our students have extensive performance
opportunities in selective, auditioned ensembles and are
taught in private lessons and studio classes by some of the
most celebrated musicians and teachers in the region.
Our coursework is rewarding and challenging, and
all Field of Study courses in the Associate of Arts degree in Music are fully
transferable to any public four-year institution in Texas.
While our program is very young (founded in 2017), we have already
seen our students go on to receive major scholarships, internships and
offers of admission from some of the most prestigious music schools in and
out of the state, including University of Houston’s Moores School of Music,
University of North Texas, Berklee College of Music, and the New England
Conservatory of Music.
We offer courses for the new musician and the highly advanced musician
alike, including a music industry course unique to our campus. Whatever
your musical and career goals, LSC-University Park has the faculty and
opportunities to support you in advancing to the next stage of your
education or career.
