Maintenance and
your room upkeep
Damages and Repairs
Whether it’s a light bulb blown or a leaking sink, we’ll be able to help you out; if something
has gone wrong, you’ll need to report it to the ResLife team. The quicker you report any issues,
the quicker it should get fixed.
If you need to report some maintenance or repairs, follow these steps:
1. Come down to Coalport or Clarice Cliff or phone/email us at [email protected].

If you feel as though you need urgent medical attention,
then please do not hesitate to call 999 and request an
ambulance. Contact 4444 to make them aware that an

Local area
Hanley (City Centre)
Hanley is the main city centre in Stoke-on-Trent.
Here you will find the Intu Potteries shopping
centre, with high street outlets such
as Topshop, H&M, Primark, Lush and other
outlets. You will also find a Nandos, Gourmet
Burger Co, Frankie and Benny’s, Chiquitos and
a Cineworld at the rear of the Intu. Hanley is a
great place to go for food and drinks and the
night life is great for students. There is a regular
bus service to Hanley from outside of campus
every few minutes. You can walk to Hanley, this
takes around 15 minutes from campus.
Hanley Park is a newly renovated area, which
was part of the city’s bid to become City of
Culture 2021.
Stoke Town
Stoke town is just under 10 minute walk away
or a short bus ride from campus and is ideal
for getting all your necessities. With plenty of
charity shops and vintage shops, it’s very good
if you’re looking for something different. There
is also a Sainsbury’s - with an Argos and
pharmacy inside - Lidl and Iceland. There are
also restaurants and pubs to enjoy such as
Wetherspoon’s and Sangam’s Indian restaurant.
Stafford
Stafford is a 20-minute train ride away and is
full of high street stores, with a newly built
Primark, River Island as well as lots of other
outlets including a Nandos and Frankie and
Benny’s. There is plenty to do when visiting
Stafford; it also has historic places to visit too,
such as the High House and Stafford Castle -
you can also go for a traditional afternoon tea
at The Soup Kitchen.

What do we do?
Residence Life is about more than just giving you a place to stay at University, it’s about giving you
new opportunities and life skills that help you become a more well-rounded individual.
We provide loads of exciting activities for our residents and events that give you the opportunity
to meet new people and learn something new. We are also working alongside the Sir Stanley
Matthews Sports Centre to create a range of activities for all residents to get involved with.

problems or questions you may have whilst studying at Staffordshire University.
You can talk to us about anything; whether it is a personal problem or an academic issue. We can
