wholly owned by the Penang State Islamic
Religious Council (MAINPP). KITAB was established
on 12 May 2004 after getting the approval from

KITAB is a continuation of a Maahad Tahfiz Al-

Penang State Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) in
1995 that offers a Diploma in Tahfiz Al-Quran
Program in collaboration with the Darul Quran of
the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia
(JAKIM). KITAB began its operations as a Higher
Learning Institution in 2005 following the progress
and development made by MTQNPP, which
successfully produced tahfiz diploma graduates.

In 2007, KITAB obtained approval from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for the Diploma in Shariah
programme and followed by the Diploma in Tahfiz Al-Quran programme in 2008. KITAB then added its Diploma
