Hey!
I think I’ll count my friends.
“How many days of the week do we have?”
I know! I know!! I know!!!
I can count them!
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7!
There are seven days in a week!
“Nicely done, Molly.”
“How many months are there in a year?”
I know! I know!! I know!!! I can count them too!
I started counting the months
1, 2, 3...
And then Mia the Mouse said, “Wait Molly, what about me?”
“I want to count the months. I can do it too.
I’m good at counting, just like you!
1, 2, 3... 5.... 7....”
I just about had a COW! Inside my head
I was thinking,
“That’s not right!
That’s not how you’re supposed to count!”
But I didn’t want Mia to start feeling bad. If she knew she did it wrong, she might be sad.
So, I took a deep breath to clear my head...
and then I said,
Hey Mia, I know, Let’s count together!
Now that’s a lot be er!
Together, you and Mia just showed us how to use the first Rule of the Roost.
“Wow, Molly! Way to be respectful! ”
“Do you all remember the first Rule of the Roost?”
“Good job, Molly and Mia. I’m really proud of you.”
Well, I want everybody to be able to count because
EVERYBODY COUNTS!
My first day back to school went super-duper fast!
We painted and played and sang and danced.
I even took a nap.
When I got back home, I told my parents about my teachers and Circle Time and all my friends.
I can’t wait until tomorrow when I get to do it all again!
Now I’m going to go count those stars!
