HATI KERA TERTINGGAL

BUKU CERITA DWIBAHASA

Keywords: DWIBAHASA

Kura-kura duduk
termenung di bawah

sepohon pokok. Ia
berasa susah hati.
Isterinya jatuh sakit.
Kura-kura mesti
mendapatkan hati kera
untuk menyembuhkan
penyakit isterinya.

The tortoise sat quietly
under a tree. He was
feeling sad because his
wife was ill. The tortoise
had to get a monkey's
heart to cure his wife.

"Di mana aku boleh
mendapatkan hati
kera?"fikir kura-kura.

Ketika berenang, kura-
kura terdengar bunyi
cebur. Ia mendongak dan
ternampak seekor kera
sedang makan buah jambu
di atas dahan pokok.

"Where can I get a
monkey's heart?"
wondered the tortoise.

While swimming, the
tortoise heard something
being thrown into the
water. He looked up and
saw a monkey eating
guavas on a tree branch.

Sambil makan, kera mencampak buah jambu ke
dalam sungai. Ia suka mendengar bunyi cebur. Ia
tidak sedar ketika itu kura-kura berada di situ.

Kura-kura berasa gembira kerana telah
berjumpa kera. Ia mahu mendapatkan hati kera.

After the monkey had eaten, he would throw the
guavas into the river. He liked to hear the
splashig sound. He did not know the tortoise was
in the river.

The tortoise was very happy because he had
found a monkey. He wanted the monkey's heart.

Kura-kura berfikir bagaimana
hendak mengambil hati kera. Ia pun
berenang ke bawah dahan pokok
jambu tempat kera duduk.

The tortoise thought of a way to get
the monkey's heart. He swam
towards the tree branch where the
monkey sat.

"Aku fikir buah jambu ini tidak seenak buah jambu
di seberang sungai sana," kata kura-kura.
"Benarkah kata-kata kamu wahai ura-kura?" tanya
kera. "Benar. Marilah ke sana., kata kura-kura lagi.
Ia berharap kera mempercayai katanya.

"These guavas are not as tasty as the guavas at the
other side of the river,"said the tortoise.

"Tortoise, are you telling me the truth?"asked the
monkey. "Yes, I am. Let's go there," said the tortoise.
He hoped the monkey would believe him.

"Tetapi aku tidak pandai
berenang," kata kera lagi.

Kura-kura berasa gembira
kerana kera percaya kata-
katanya.

"I do not know how to swim,"said
the monkey.

The tortoise felt happy because
the monkey believed him.

"Aku boleh bawakan
kau,"kata kura-kura. "Kau
duduk di atas belakangku
yang keras ini."

Kera berfikir seketika. Ia
berasa sangat gembira
kerana dapat makan buah
jambu yang lebih enak. Ia
tidak mengetahui niat kura-
kura sebenarnya.

"I can take you there," said
the tortoise. "Just sit on my
hard back."

The monkey thought for a
while. he felt very happy
because he could eat guavas
that were more tasty. He
did not know the tortoise's
true motive.

Kera pun melompat ke
atas belakang ura-kura.
Kura-kura berasa
gembira rancangannya
berjaya. Ia berenang ke
seberang sugai. Ia berfikir
bagaimana hendak
memberitahu niatnya
kepada kera.

The monkey jumped onto
the tortoise's back. The
tortoise felt happy
because his plan worked.
He swam across the river.
He wondered how he was
going to tell the monkey
what he wanted.

Kura-kura memberitahu
hajatnya. "Isteri aku jatuh sakit.
Aku perlukan hati kamu untuk
mengubati penyakitnya," kata
kura-kura.

Kura-kura berharap kera dapat
memberi hatinya. Dengan ini,
isterinya akan selamat.

The tortoise finally told the
monkey what he wanted. "My
wife is ill. I need your heart to
heal her,"said the tortoise.

The tortoise hoped the monkey
would give his heart to him and
he could save his wife.

Kera berasa terkejut
mendengar hajat kura-
kura. Kini, ia tahu dirinya
sudah diperdaya oleh
kura-kura.
Kera berpura-pura tidak
takut. Mujurlah kera
haiwan yang bijak
bestari.

The monkey was shocked.
He now realised he had
been tricked by the
tortoise.
The monkey pretended
not to be afraid. Luckily
the monkey was a clever
animal.

Kera cuba mencari jalan untuk
melepaskan diri. Ia tidak mahu
menjadi mangsa kura-kura.

Kera mendapat akal. Ia

berharap kura-kura

mempercayai kata-katanya.

The monkey thought of a way
to escape. He did not want to
be tortoise's victim.

The monkey had an idea. He
hoped the tortoise would
believe him.

"Aku bersimpati dengan isteri kau," kata kera
yang berpura-pura bersedih. "Tetapi aku tidak
dapat menolong kau. Hatiku tertinggal di atas
pokok."

Kura-kura berasa terkejut. Ia berasa hampa
kerana tidak dapat menyelamatkan isterinya.

"I felt sorry for your wife,"said the monkey while
pretending to be sad." "However I cannot help you.
My heart is on top of the tree."

The tortoise was shocked. He felt disappointed
because he could not save his wife.

Melihat kura-kura bersedih, kera
pun memujuk,"Ayuh kita berpatah
balik ke pokok tadi. Aku akan beri
hatiku kepada kau."

Kura-kura pun bersetuju. Tanpa
membuang masa,m ia pun
berenang menuju ke tempat kera
tadi.

The monkey realised the tortoise
was disappointed. "Come let's go
back to the tree. I will give my
heart to you."

The tortoise agreed. He quickly
swam back towards the tree the
monkey had been sitting on.

Setibanya di seberang, kera
melompat ke atas dahan pokok. Ia
telah berjaya menyelamatkan
dirinya dari diperdaya oleh kura-
kura.

Kura-kura berasa marah lalu
pergi dari situ.

As soon as they crossed back,
the monkey jumped onto the
tree. He had succeeded in
rescuing himself from the
tortoise.

The tortoise was very angry
and swam away.
