WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY
2021
An awareness drive was been initiated on 31st May
2021, on World no tobacco day. The event was co-
organized by Rotary, B G Nagar (club ID: 87512).
The theme of the event was “Commit to quit”. The
awareness e-leaflet and pledge was circulated
among students and various social groups to
create the awareness against the evils of smoking
and encourage them to quit such habits.

Webinar on “Career Pathway and StudyAbroad Opportunities
for Pharmacy Graduates” was jointly organised by
Adichunchanagiri University’s, Sri Adichunchanagiri College

Services for Pharmacy Graduates. Webinar was held on
17th June 2021. Webinar started with welcome address by
Dr. Prakash Goudanavar, Professor & Head, Department of
Pharmaceutics. The Speaker of the webinar was Mr. Joel
Noronho, Operations-AECC Global Services, Karnataka &
Kerala. Through the webinar, the participants were provided
insights into study abroad opportunities – Australia, Canada,
Ireland, New Zealand, UK and USA, Entry requirements for
study abroad, Exams to be taken for study destinations
– IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, GMAT, GRE and Scholarships and
Career Opportunities in abroad. The webinar witnessed the
enthusiastic participation of more than 200 students across

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
2021
Institutional NSS unit celebrated 7th International Yoga Day
by focusing on the theme “Yoga for well-Being” on 21st June,
2021. In order to create awareness about the International
Yoga Day and its important, A short video was played in Zoom
platform and posters containing information on benifits of
Yoga was circulated among students and staffs. Unit also
encouraged students and staff to take online pledge at yoga.

TREKKING AND CLEANING PROGRAM
2021
Institutional NSS unit organized one day Trekking and
cleaning program at Haddinakallu Hanumanthraya
Temple, Bairsandra on 5th August 2021 as a part of no
plastic day celebration. The aim of the programme
was to eradicate the use of plastic in and around
temple area. Around 28 NSS volunteers enthusiastically
participated in the programme. During the cleanliness
drive around 35 to 40 kg of waste were collected and
separated into Biodegradable and Non-Biodegradable
waste and disposed appropriately. The volunteers also
visited different stalls present at the temple area and
educated about the dangerous effects of plastic use on
environment and advantages of paper bag usage.

CELEBRATION
SACCP Celebrated the 75th Independence Day
on 15th August 2021. The event was organized by
institutional NSS unit and institutional cultural
committee. Principal, staff, students and non-
teaching staff members were participated
enthusiastically in the celebration and made the
event successful. Dr B Ramesh, principal and
Dean of Pharmacy was the chief guest of this
event. He hoisted the national flag and addressed
the gathering with reemergence the Supreme
sacrifice of great martyrs who gave their lives
for the sake of freedom. He also highlighted
the importance of youths in preserving the
Independence of India. Cultural programme
was also organized, where Students of various
discipline exhibited their talent with respect to
patriotism.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON -
PATIENT SAFETY
Department of Pharmacy Practice, SACCP, ACU
in association with IPA (Karnataka State Branch),
AIMS, AH & RC, ACN has organized a one-day
National Conference on “Patient Safety” on 23rd
August 2021. The conference primarily focused on
Pharmacovigilance, Materiovigilance and Vaccine
Safety Programmes of India. The Conference
began with the welcome address of Dr. B.
Ramesh, The Dean & Principal, SACCP. Dr. Rajesh
Venkataraman, Professor & Head, Department of
Pharmacy Practice, SACCP, ACU introduced the
first speaker of the Conference, Dr.V. Kalaiselvan
(Senior Principal Scientific Officer, IPC, PvPI,
MoHFW, Government of India, Ghaziabad). He
delivered a valuable talk on “Medical Products
Safety Surveillance System: An Overview”.
The second session was handled by Ms.
Indu Nambiar (Head, Pharmacovigilance,
Boehringer Ingelheim India Pvt. Ltd) on the topic
“Pharmacovigilance: Industry Perspective”. She
highlighted on the importance of incorporation
of Pharmacovigilance among medical industry
sector. Dr. Juny Sebastian (Faculty, Department
of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy,
JSSAHER, Mysuru) took the third session of
the Conference on “Vaccine Safety: Basics”. It
was a new experience for the delegates as it
gave them a glimpse of the basic knowledge
on Vaccine Safety. The afternoon session began

Incubation Center organized a faculty orientation
program on 4th September2021 forthe faculties of

of ACU, BG Nagara. First session was taken
over Mr. Sursyakanth Dodmise, SIBIC business

the sessions met the expectations and provided

Adichunchanagiri University AIMS, BGSIT, SACCP,
BGSCOE, BGSFGC, SACN and FNS, was organized
jointly with Adichunchanagiri university, B G Nagara
and HESDAR centre, Mysuru on 1st September
2021 to 4th September, 2021. The event began
with the inauguration ceremony graced by Dr. S
Chandrashekhar Shetty, Honourable VC-ACU, Dr.
C. K Subbaraya, Registrar-ACU Dr. Rupanarayan,
Dean Academics-Accreditation, Dr. M G Shivaramu,
principal-AIMS, Dr. B K Narendra, principal-BGSIT, Dr. B
Ramesh, principal-SACCP, Dr. A T Shivaram, Principal-
BGSCOE, Prof. Chandrashekar, Principal- SACN and
Dr. Prashantha K, Dean FNS and staff. Dr. B Ramesh,

address. Inauguration ceremony continued with the
lamp lighting followed by release of FDP handbook.

Students of B Pharm and M Pharm celebrated the "Teachers day"
on 5th September 2021 with the teachers of SACCP. The event

National Pharmacovigilance Week 2021 from
17th - 23rd September 2021.
As a part of the First Day Celebration of this
Program, the Inaugural Ceremony being
organised by PvPI, IPC on 17th September 2021
was broadcasted on live in SACCP. Nearly 80
students attended the Programme.

Inaugural Ceremony was held on 18th September 2021
at SACCP followed by guest lectures i.e., Mr. Sunil S

and Dr. Kaushik Devaraju, CEO, Veenaraj Technologies

Private Limited. The Programme started with Welcome
Prayer. Dr. Rajesh Venkataraman, Professor and head,
Department of Pharmacy Practice, SACCP welcomed the
dignitaries of the day. The guests were honored by Dr. B
Ramesh, Principal, SACCP. Dr. Kaushik Devaraju addressed
the event by delivering a talk on the “General Introduction
on MEDSBIN”. Followed by the addressal, there was the
official launching of MEDSBIN and formal Inauguration of
ADR Monitoring Centre (AMC) & Medical Device Adverse
Event Monitoring Centre (MDMC) in SACCP. Mr. Sunil S
Chiplunkar, gave an inspirational talk on the “Success
Mantras for Pharmaceutical Sector”and also discussed
about the various Career Opportunities for Pharmacy
Student. Ms. Reetha of Vth Pharm D, delivered the Vote of
thanks and anchored the event. Nearly 355 students and
other faculties attended the programme.

On the Fourth Day of “National Pharmacovigilance On 21st September 2021, the fifth day of “National
Week 2021” a series of Competitions were Pharmacovigilance Week - 2021” a series of
conducted for the Students of SACCP like Quiz competitions were conducted for the students of
Competition, Puzzle and Essay Competition. Quiz SACCP like debate and treasure hunt. A total of
Competition was conducted which consisted of 5 4 teams were enrolled in the competition, out of
Rounds (MCQ questions, Instant answers, Recall, which 2 teams were qualified for the final round
Pill Riddles, Queries) covering pharmacy related
topics. A total of 10 teams were enrolled in the
Competition, out of which 3 teams were qualified
for the final round.
A puzzle competition was conducted at Yuvalaya
for the students. There were 18 groups consisting
of 2 participants in each group. 4 groups were
qualified for the final rounds which will be
conducted in the upcoming days of Celebration.
A total of 10 students have participated in the
Essay Competition being conducted via online
mode at the Digital Library of SACCP.

On 22nd September 2021, A Webinar session
was conducted focusing primarily on
Pharmacovigilance. Speakers were: Mr.
Muhammed Rashid PP, Ph.D. Research Scholar,
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, on
the Topic - Critical Appraisal of Pharmacovigilance
Literatures. Dr. Dharini Boopathi Senior
Pharmacovigilance Associate Pharmacovigilance
Programme of India (PvPI), Indian Pharmacopoeia
Commission, Ghaziabad also enlighten the
Topic - Various Tools for Reporting ADRs. A total
90 students and various faculties attended
the webinar session. In the afternoon session
semifinal and final round competition of Puzzle
Game was held.

INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY
2021
International Peace Day was observed on 21st September,
2021. On this eve, institutional cultural committee
organized a Drawing competition. The Theme for the
Competition was Shaping Peace Together. Total of
15 students from different courses enthusiastically
participated in the event.
IDEATION WORKSHOP
2021
Adichunchanagiri center for entrepreneurs (ACE)
organized a workshop named ‘Ideation Workshop’
on 23rd September 2021. The aim of the workshop
to encourages the students and faculties for
innovation, incubation and startups. The workshop
has focused on innovative idea identification,
design thinking, problem statements, sector
analysis and also ideation to prototype process of
new ideas. Students and faculties enthusiastically
participated in the workshop and expressed their
innovative ideas to the expert panel. The key expert
and resource person was Mr. Sachin Kumbhoje,
CEO, Opex Startup Accelerator, Mumbai. Around
200 plus participant were present and participated
this event.

NSS DAY CELEBRATION
2021
On the view of NSS Day, Department of Pharmacy
Practice and NSS units organized one day Health
screening and Health Awareness drive. The
campaign was held on 24th September 2021 at
Arani village. The aim of the drive was to create
awareness about various general health aspect
which will be benefit to the community. During the
campaign, the NSS volunteers conducted the health
screening for Hypertension and Diabetes and also
done the patient counseling. Volunteers also visited
door to door and distributed the health awareness
pamphlets regarding importance of cleanliness and
hygiene, Hypertension, Diabetes and COVID-19.
At the end of the drive NSS pledge was delivered to
all the NSS volunteers participated in the campaign.
Around 120 villagers got benefited from this
campaign. The camping was coordinated by Mr.
Ravindra B N and Mr. Madhu B K, NSS programme
officer, SACCP. Mr. Kanthraju and Mr. Nikil NSS

2021
World Pharmacist Day - 2021, celebration was
organized at Yuvalaya. The theme was “PHARMACY
- Always trusted for your HEALTH”. Spectrum of
events were organized on this occasion.
On 24th September 2021, Institutional cultural
committee organized a theme based Rangoli
Competition where various teams were actively
participated with colourful theme based Rangolies.
On 25th September 2021, the inaugural speech on
virtual mode was delivered by Dr. Divakar Goli, Vice-
Chancellor, Raffles University, Neemrana Rajasthan,
on the theme highlighting the importance and role
of Pharmacy and pharmacist in the healthcare.
A Speech was presented by the Anjali C N, student
of VIIIth semester B. Pharm on ‘why and how
pharmacy plays a major role of trust in healthcare’,
with special emphasize on current COVID
pandemic.
Later, a Poster presentation on the theme of
WPD-2021 was organized and students of various
disciplines were took enthusiastic participation.

2021
On the eve of India celebrating its 75th years of
Independence, ACU NSS had organised ‘Fit India
Run’, program on 25th September 2021. Dr. C K
Subbaraya, Registrar, ACU initiated the program.

2021
"Ethnic day - 2021" celebration was organized
by the final year students on 28th September
2021.
The day aims at celebrating different cultures
and ethnic groups. The day helps reconnect
people with traditional and cultural roots
and promote the true essence of age-old
customs and traditions that have helped
forged the different civilization around the
world. On this exuberant and colourful
day, student and faculties celebrate the
rich culture of India by wearing ethnic
outfits. Complementing the beauty of their
traditional dresses, people celebrate their
traditional ornaments and accessories as
they adorn their outfits with. The event also
mark the day by gifting handicrafts, sweets,
and musical instruments to each other and
also organise cultural events on the day and
explore the traditional themes by relishing
traditional food and enjoying music.

STRESS MANAGEMENT
Institutional NSS unit in association with Department of Psychiatry,
AIMS, organized a workshop on “Stress Management” on the
occasion of observing "World Mental Health Day-2021" on 11th
October 2021. Dr Shivakumar. B.K, Associate Professor and HOD,
Dr. Vinay H.R, Assistant Professor and team from the Department
of Psychiatry & Clinical psychology were the resource persons

Institutional placement cell in association with
Manipal Hospital Pvt. Ltd, Bangaluru organized

National Pharmacy week was celebrated on the

drawing competition. As a part of the Celebration,

There were 9 teams from various classes. In the

was conducted at Yuvalaya. There were 12 teams
