Editor’s desk
Dear readers,
With immense feeling of bliss, I am presenting this
second volume of our biannual newsletter ‘Udaan’- a
activity outlook of our institution. In this specious
moment, I would like to thank all our readers and
stakeholders for their constant support and
acknowledgements which made the first volume of
‘Udaan’ a grand success.
Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Pharmacy is one of the
top ranked Institution in India under the umbrella of
Adichunchanagiri University, recently got prestigious
80th rank all over the Indian Pharmacy colleges
category as per NIRF-2022 by govt. of India. It
undeniably indicates the enhancement of up gradation
and quality advances in the core values of the
institution.
This second volume of ‘Udaan’ is an approach to show
case the events of first half of this year 2022 and update
the readers about the inner house activities which were
designed for the holistic developments of the student as
we are committed for.
I hope, this second volume of ‘Udaan” will accomplish
the stakeholder’s expectations, that provides us the
obligatory vigor to expand and touches the novel
heights of academic excellences.

Adichunchanagiri Centre for Entrepreneurs, an Incubation
Savitribhi Phule Birth centre organized a seminar on Legal aspects of start-up on
Anniversary 8th January 2022, by online in Microsoft Teams platform.
Mr. CS Mangesh Anandaro Narvekar was the resource
person who addressed the special start up student team and
selected faculty of SACCP. The presentation covered all the
basic aspects of the company registration process, its pros
and cons of each legal entity also various aspects of IPR,
proceed of approach for the same and their importance in the
present scenario. The session addressed about the startup
and their legal implications and advantages for starting the
business. Furthermore, the speaker answered all the queries
of students and faculty present on the platform. Students
and faculty were also suggested for one more presentation
on section 8 company and role of incubation centre in
handling the financial aspects of start-ups. The entire
session was coordinated by Dr. Vedamurthy Joshi,
Coordinator, ACE under the guidance of Dr. B Ramesh,
Principal, SACCP, BG Nagara.

Control Bureau,
Bangaluru is
undertaking various
campaigns to create
awareness about the
ill effects of drug consumption. With a view to achieve the
aforesaid goal, an e-pledge titled "Say yes to life, No to
Drugs" has been up-loaded. The objective of this pledge is
to spread the messages of ill effect of drugs. Students were
actively participated in this campaign.

National Youth Day and Makara
Sankranthi
Organized jointly with BGS College of Education “National Youth Day and
Makara Sankranthi" on 12th January 2022 at Yuvalaya. The programme was

Song, speech & dance. The event was witnessed by the Ashirvachana of Swami
Veereshananda Sarswathi, & Swami Dheeranandaji Maharaj of Sri Ramakrishna

Indian Army Day World Cancer Day- 2022
Celebrated Indian Army Day in the commemoration of late Department of
General Sri K M Cariappa as a tribute to Indian Army, on Pharmacy Practice, had

Lab Visit

Molecular Medicine, B G Nagar, along with
teaching faculty members on 14th February
2022 to explore the research facilities and
expertise of the AIMM research group to
familiarize students about research related
activities carried out in the prestigious
AIMM campus and with the intention to
collaborate with AIMM for
transdisciplinary research in near future. Students were enthusiastic in knowing prospects of cell line and molecular study
at AIMM. Nearly 50 RSs, PGs and teaching faculties attended the visit. Dr Shobith Rangappa, Director, AIMM was
facilitate the students visit and was complemented by the expertise of Dr. Sudhanva, Dr. Thammanna Gowda and Mr. Anil.
There is more value in seeing and knowing than in reading and learning. Students got real feel of research work after this
visit, as they got a chance to transform theoretical knowledge to practical implications.
Research scholars and post graduate students from various departments of Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Pharmacy
visited ACU-CRI (Centre for Research and Innovation) B G Nagara, along with teaching faculty members on 15th February
2022 to explore and familiarize the research facilities to carry out their research work effectively. Nearly 35 RSs, PGs and
teaching faculties attended. Dr Prashanta Kalapa and his team explored Virology Lab, Polymer chemistry lab and
demonstrated equipment’s like 3-D printing, Lyophiliser, X-ray diffraction etc.

Startup Idea Validation Program
ACU Incubation cell, "Adichunchanagiri Centre for
Entrepreneurs (ACE)" is launched its debut Startup Idea
Validation Program by SACCP budding Entrepreneurs on 18th
February 2022 at SACCP. The B Pharm students (III sem) and
Pharm D students were participated in this event.
Fresher’s Party
Fresher’s Party was organised on 25th February 2022 for the
Students of First Year (batch:2021-2022)-D Pharm/B.
Pharm/Pharm D and M. Pharm by 5th Pharm. D students and
complemented by students of other courses as well. The
program "ESPERANZA FIESTA 2022" began with lamp
lightening and inaugural speech by beloved Principal, HOD's
and Principal of BGS model public school, Mrs. Kusuma.
Freshers along with their seniors got a chance to showcase their
talent by a stunning Ramp walk, various Dance performances
like solo, Duo, Group dances followed by small games to make
the function trickier and fun! Based on the results of ramp walk
and questionnaire to short listed participants, Mr and Ms
SACCP were announced. Nearly 500 students, teaching and
non-teaching staff attended the event.

Mega Health Camp - I
A team of 21 comprising of Pharm. D Students, M. Pharm

III - Clinical Pharmacy, Health Informatics and Leadership
Department of Pharmacy Practice in association with Avenida Innovations organized
One Day Workshop titled "Clinical Pharmacy, Health Informatics and Leadership" on
28th April 2022 at Yuvalaya. The session I, was taken by Dr. Karthik Rakam,
Co-founder & CEO, Avenida Innovation. During his session he briefly discussed
various case studies seen by internal medicine, Neurology, intensive care and
infectious disease team and also, he explained about how to analyse a case study,
identify and resolve medication errors or drug related problems. The session II, was by
Dr. Ashwani Dhar, Co-founder & President, Avenida Innovation, USA. During the
session he highlighted the role of Pharm D graduates in the health sector also discussed
about the importance of adopting information technology supporting evidence - based
medicine to continuously improve the quality of care. Around 80 students including
Pharm D, PGs and RSs actively participated and got benefited from the workshop. At
the end of the program all the participants were provided with the participation
certificate. During the break, the team also visited AH & RC and had a discussion with
the hospital administrative officers.
