Students of SACCP organized a Fresher's Party “PARICHYA
2K21" for all the 1st years blooming buds from D Pharm, B
Pharm, Pharm D and M Pharm on 19th of January 2K21
&Yuvalaya. The interaction and introduction of juniors to seniors
was done with a warm cultural programme followed by
exchange of momentums. The seniors of SACCP welcome all
the fresher’s with open heart and provide a grand gesture of love
with their own creativity. The function was evidenced by
Principal, all teachers, non teaching staff and students.

SACCP Literary Competition-2021
Institutional cultural unit organised Annual Literary Competition-2021 on

Search of a remedy from plants for Covid-19

Karnataka Registered Pharmacists Association (KRPA)

Covid-19 " on 15th May 2021.
The main speaker of the webinar was Dr HrishikeshDamle,
Founder, CEO and MD of Atrimed Ltd. Bangalore. The
events onboarding talk and moderation was presented by Mr.
Sunil chiplunkar, Advisory member, KRPA, conclusive
remarks and brief introduction was presented by Dr. B
Ramesh, Dean and Principal, SACCP, and closing remarks
and vote of thanks were conveyed by Mr. Saleem Ahmed,
Director, KRPA, Mysuru.
The webinar kicked off with information on plant based
secondary metabolites origin to their usefulness in diverse
clinical conditions owing to their variety of pharmacological
activities.Dr. Damle also discussed about the process flow in
which how different natural molecules are subjected to in
silicomodelling followed by their in vitro anti SARS Cov 2
activity evaluation is carried out to search for a potential
antiviral molecules.
The webinar was attended over 600 attendees from across
India. Event also witnessed young minds clarifying their
doubts by posting their questions to the speaker.Over all the
webinar gave basic insights and useful information on various
plant based molecules in pipeline ready to be used as antiviral
clinically in line with Remdesivir.

Two Days National Virtual Conference
Legacy of the Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Pharmacy,
that learning never stops @ SACCP, continued with the
beginning of Two days National level Conference on
“Drug Repurposing – Strategy for New Drug
Development” in virtual mode during 10th to 11th June,
2021.
The conference was hosted by Department of
Pharmacognosy. Amalgamation of information on aspects
pertaining to drug repositioning was exchanged by all the
eminent speakers, and was very well perceived by the
delegates. The conference speakers were a blend of
intellectuals from academia as well as industry with a
genuine research background.
Nearly 1000 plus delegates representing different states
like Karnataka, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Andhra
Pradesh, Sikkim, Gujarat etc. registered for the
conference and a lion share of registreesattended the
conference. Simultaneous live streaming of all the
sessions through Youtube was also made available.
During the sessions delegates not only learnt what is a
Drug repurposing, strategy used for repurposing but also
perspectives, challenges associated with it. Even though,
current trends in using medicinal plants to combat Covid
19 to learning real examples of drug repurposing with
regard to cardiovascular drugs. At the end of all plenary
sessions, a panel discussion was convened to make the
conference more exciting and interesting.

Sciences, International Medical University, Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia for sharing their knowledge and
Research expertise for the learning of all budding
researchers.
Overwhelming response was recorded for a quiz
competition that was organized following two days
sessions competing for first and second cash prize of
Rupees 2000/- and 1000/- respectively.
Attendees felt attending such an event during this
pandemic actually made more sense to a true researcher as
world over scientists are looking for alternatives for
prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Webinar on Career Guidance
Webinar on “Career Pathway and Study Abroad Opportunities for Pharmacy
Graduates” was jointly organised by Adichunchanagiri University’s, Sri
Adichunchanagiri College of Pharmacy, B. G. Nagara, Karnataka and AECC
Global Services for Pharmacy Graduates. Webinar was held on June, 17, 2021.
Webinar started with welcome address by Dr. Prakash Goudanavar, Professor &
Head, Department of Pharmaceutics. The Speaker of the webinar was Mr. Joel
Noronho, Operations-AECC Global Services, Karnataka & Kerala.
Through the webinar, the participants were provided insights into study abroad
opportunities – Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK and USA, Entry
requirements for study abroad, Exams to be taken for study destinations – IELTS,
PTE, TOEFL, GMAT, GRE and Scholarships and Career Opportunities in
abroad.
The webinar witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 200 students
across the country.
International Yoga Day-2021
Institutional NSS unit celebrated
7th International Yoga Day by
focusing on the theme "Yoga for
well-Being" on 21st June, 2021. In

International Yoga Day and its

Bridge Course:
Students of VI and VIII semesters ware undergone bridge course during lockdown time organized by Opex-ACU jointly
in the field of Pharmaceutical Management. This virtual course has enthusiastically participated by students and obtained
their certification after completion of course.
E-poster Competition: • Students of I D Pharm has participated e-poster competition organized by Sarojini College
of Pharmacy, Kolhapur, on the event of ‘World no tobacco day’. The theme of the event was
‘Commit to quit.
• On 8th March 2021, accordance with ‘International women’s day program’ the student of
IV Pharm D i.e., Medhini, Anwitha, Rakshith were participated in poster competition and
declared winner of the event.
• Medhini and Anwith from IV Pharm D also participated in photo contest organized for the
part of ‘International Women’s day’ celebration 2021.
• Students of IV Pharm D attended seminar on social media trafficking at BGSPM School at
15thMarch 2021.
• Women empowerment cell organized selfie contest on 1-15th April 2021 on various themes
