Marko
Tušek

@markotusek014

In his childhood years he developed alongside
his father (the painter too) a great fondness for
colour and drawing. It was thus quite early in
his life that he acquainted himself with the
laws governing the graphic realm - especially
as regards the composition, the colour and the
conceptualisation of space. Since then, he has
been looking for his expression in the field of
the visual.

As an artist, I strive to produce work that not only enriches my practice but
that is informed by and founded on developing an awareness about issues
that affect us all.
I derive inspiration from matters such as our political landscape, the fragility
of our environment and the inequalities in our society. My intention is to
develop a visual message that causes the viewer to react and ponder those
issues. I believe that fostering a dialog between the viewer and the work of
art is essential to the development and understanding of the
circumstances that affect our lives.
My current body of work addresses topics such as justice reform, the gun
culture, racism, the melting of the ice caps, homelessness and corruption
among others. I see myself as a conduit between the concepts and events
that permeate our lives and the visual statements that hope to explain,
applaud or condemn them.

I created a series of acrylic paintings and a series of ink (white and

different series'. This artwork is based on the theme of memory and
power. I overlapped one memory of the past - abstracted acrylic
painting - and one day of memories of the present - ink illustration.
