The Varsity Cheerleaders had a clever
spark of creativity rarely found in other
squads. Johnny McPherson added a new
dimension as the energetic mascot Villain.
Unique themes such as surfing made pep
rallies a highlight of the season. Along with
the traditional cheers and stunts, stu­
dents joined the cheerleaders in spon­
taneous song and dance routines. The en­
th u sia stic and talented cheerleaders
spread their intense spirit throughout the
school.

32. The 19B4-B5 Drill Team was made up of 13
hardw orking girls. They pra cticed two
months in advance to prepare for the basket­
ball season. Under the guidance of the more
experienced girls, they learned, performed,
and choreographed as a group. Their ener­
getic performances were the highlight of half­
time entertainment.
