Student Abroad

Last year Patrick
Lynch was awarded the
Congress Budestag
Scholarship. He was
given the opportunity to
become a foreign
exchange student. So,
this past summer Patrick
left for West Germany.
He is staying with a
Lutheran family with
three daughters. Patrick
rides his bike Monday
through Saturday and is
teaching his new family
about baseball. He
enjoys the food and the
new culture of his home.
He also travels regularly
throughout Germany and
will soon visit
Communist controlled
East Germany. Patrick
will be returning this
summer with memories
of his year abroad.

Senior Retreat

For this year’s senior
class, the retreat meant a
time of strengthening old
friendships and building
new ones. There were
reflections of good times
past and giggles of
apprehension as to what
was still to come. It was
a memorable experience
for all.

finished their 1986-87 season
with some outstanding victo
ries. Finishing second in their
conference, they moved on to
defeat rival FCD in the finals of
the PACIS District Tourna
ment, and won the NCISAA
Volleyball Championship. At
the State Tournament the

the finals to face Charlotte
Latin. Latin fell to the “on fire”
Villains, three games to one.
The Lady Villains, under the
coaching of Ms. Hine, brought
their season to completion with
a TEN game winning streak.
All the players contributed to
the great success of the team.
Receiving special honors were:
Janet Daugherty, Player of the
Year; Katie Kinny Second
Team All-Conference; and
Cathy Folger, First Team All-
Conference. Recognition for
exceptional defensive skill goes
to Irene Mallet, Andrea Tacy,

port was contributed by all, es
pecially by Theresa Siegle,
Jacquelyn Maginnis, Jackie
Toroh, and Nikki Smith. A spe
cial effort was put forth by Shan
Bynam in her great serving
style.
Congratulations to the Lady
